Well done Seáinín. Isn't it amazing the good that the organic matter does for the soil. Hon the Banner, Boy! Will they baet the Rebels???

Thanks for update Seán. You must have read my mind. I was dying to get a look at motherless May and she is looking so well. Thanks to you her start in life wasn't too bad and she is thriving. Glad you didn't have to start chasing them to get them back. See you soon .

Thank you too Marie. Yes she is doing well. She'll never win a show but like maverick give them time and they come🙌

I’m “green” with envy at your lush grass. It’s hard to grow right now.
Interesting idea about the rotten bales.

Isn't it Greg Judy himself who uses buys in Bales of hay to fill in bad spots. He'll spread the bale where there is bare ground or an area that has wedding plants in it. Swears by it. Red shorthorn on two calves is looking well for the work she is doing. All the cattle looking well. Fair play

it should do well too overtime. It'll look a mess at first but work wonders for months

The key is to harvest the energy from the tips, and then put the carbon on the ground. The soil is starving for carbon!

I know you can’t be selecting your “keepers” just based on how they look but I think my favourites are the roan calves!

Well Peter I have to agree with you. I'm very fond of them too. And I know I had to help them get through the scour but they did get over it.
Will be interesting to see them grow along side the Ruby calves. Two very nice roans gone incalculable to jasper thus year too🤞

For all the good luck there always seems to be some bad built in. The grass is growing great on that field and the cattle are looking very full and content. Not a peep out of them. The Ruby calves are super chunky types. BTW Has Jasper been doing his work? He is on patrol towards the end there.

Well pj yes I'm very happy with the Ruby calves he definitely has better hiefters than bulls. The coffee cup analogy holds very true with his progeny.
I'll probably go for a terminal sire next. The jury is still out on jasper. He's definitely working but he grow more than I thought he would. He's calves May be nice though

That’s what they are calling bale grazing, the guys with the big places and huge numbers of cattle are into it
