The von Neumann architecture, his groundbreaking design for a stored-program computer, serves as the blueprint for virtually all modern machines. His contributions to the ENIAC project, the first general-purpose electronic computer, further solidified his place in computing history. A true visionary, von Neumann also explored cellular automata and self-replicating machines, laying the groundwork for future advancements in artificial life.
