They just let someone file a return without having to prove who they are. But I had to prove who I was when I went to inform the IRS!!! And they did nothing about the person that stole it. When I found out the cellphone company, Sprint, would not cooperate with law enforcement to go after the crook. When someone is using your identity you should have every last right to find out who it is and end it. Even get the Sheriff local to them to visit them and take back everything that was bought with your name.
