The idea of Falconia becoming a mass, MASS sacrifice to the Godhand makes the idea of this all being part of a grand cyclical plot, and that King Geisreic's kingdom was simply the one that fell to it last, becomes even more concerning...

Good Catch! The loss of a strand of hair foreshadows guts to being able to take down Griffith somehow. How? I really need to know how because the godhand is too powerful. I wonder if Griffith might try to sacrifice casca to get rid of that weakness? Maybe he can’t even do that.

I hadn't noticed that connection. At some point, I think Guts will find a way to more fully remove himself from the flow of causality. I think he's already on his way. Although, he may be risking his humanity in the process.
The fact that Guts was able to cut that hair likely shows that he's already on the cusp of some major breakthrough. Pretty soon, he's either going to get some kind of upgrades to his equipment or he'll develop some kind of new technique with his companions.

@@jaywills5898 I think as long as he gets a sacrifice someone even if he hasn’t gotten every single person then he’s still able to get his transformation at max level. Guts and casca escaping was just to show the game can always change. Even the god hand noticed how their escape means nothing is perfectly set in stone and a single splash in the water can occur during a whirlpool. It doesn’t change the whole event it just means don’t expect everyone’s plans to go according to plan.
Again Griffith’s plan is off the rails as the demon child merged with his body. That wasn’t supposed to happen and maybe because the demon child also survived the apocalypse inside casca til he was born so he’s out of sorts with causality

My personal theory is that 'hell' as described by the Godhand is the river of souls and it is where everybody goes when they die. The Godhand view it as he'll because to them the loss of their ego and ambition is the worst possible fate.

This is my own batshit contribution: Skull Knight or Guts will cut Griffith with the Sword of Actuation, but instead of killing him and the Moonlight Boy, it just separated them. Not only will this give us some levity amidst the incoming darkness (Guts and Casca deserve it, goddammit), but it honestly makes Griffith even more of a tangible threat to them, since he no longer has the Moonlight Boy straining on his judgement and autonomy.

Here’s what’s been my theory for a bit: I always think back to just before the Eclipse during Guts’ battle with Wyald. In the end, Wyald was defeated and then further humbled by Zodd. He was then stripped of his apostlehood by that vortex and laid bare as the twisted old man he was before his ascension. Having said that, you might say that I’m of the school of thought wherein the Godhand are using Griffith. If Griffith lives up to his name and longs for something so grand that he steps on the toes of the Godhand, perhaps he could end up like Wyald. Once again laid bare as Griffith the Tortured, who ended up just being a cog in the causality.

    • @josesosa3337
      @josesosa3337 2 роки тому +13

Interesting. In a way they are reflections of each other. Wylad and Griffith both do whatever they want. Wylade was the leader of the black dog knights just like Griffith with his white aesthetic leading the hawks. Both sold their souls to become demons. Both weren't satisfied with their human existence. Where Griffith was calm and polite to get what he wants Wylade was rude, loud, and very vulgar.

Guts needs to lead his own army against griffith. How could would it be seeing him on the front lines again, doing what he's been doing since day 1, but with people who all look up to him and love him. Essentially he became his own griffith, finally making himself an equal to him. Isidro also needs to realize that Guts is the 100 man slayer, and we need to see the behelit's purpose. Hopefully Guts doesn't turn into an apostle at the end that'd be really dumb. It seems that Griffith cannot harm Casca so she is more likely to be the one to kill him. Would make it similar to Attack on Titan as well, and the two stories have some parallels that I think are not intentional but natural. It is also a common trope for revenge stories that the avenger gets robbed of their revenge.
In the final arc I assume Guts, Casca, Rickert, the bakiraka, Griffith, Zodd, etc will eventually end up in the same place and it'll feel like the Golden Age again, and I hope it can approach that level of quality as well.

I'm not sure if you're aware of Carl Jung's "The Shadow" but what Jung says about the shadow is spot on what The Beast of Darkness. Jung says in order to become a self actualized person one must integrate their shadow. Basically get it under control.

I see Guts becoming more than just a raid leader and commander, he becomes a general of his own army marching against the forces of the Godhand. I too would like a reunion with Rickert and company and what skills, trades, knowledge they bring back to the fold. Who knows, would be interesting seeing him either a poet or king in the very end of Berserk. I do think wielding a dragonslayer should mean he has to encounter a dragon on his way back to Falconia. I do think there should a big reveal to the masses who Griffith really is. I used to toy with the idea that both Guts and Griffith would go out like both Winslow and Swan do in the Phantom of the Paradise. As for the brands, not sure if they can be removed from those still alive from the original Band of the Hawk. I would love to see a Wounds part three to tie Guts' and Casca's relationship together again. There is the possibility this all could end like in King of Wolves Miura did back then. This has been the best story of my lifetime here in earth. Lots of turns we did not expect from the previous readings.

I imagine if the Moonlight Boy must be sacrificed for the sake of the world...it will be at the boy's urging himself. to protect it's parents, namely Casca... demanding his own end...to save the world they live in.
after all, he sacrificed himself at Albion to save Casca...it didn't die as a result, but should have. so, if with the little power he had before he goes that far...you don't think that it will go that far again, or further ?
the Moonlight Boy won't just be a party to Griffith's defeat...chances are, he will be an active participant.

For me the biggest thing i want answered is a full backstory on SkullKnight and his history as king G. What exactly happened? I want to see a scene by scene flashback of all of it. I want to see what he was capable of back when he was human, how he met Flora, when he got the breserk armor, the full fight between him and the GH, and exactly how he ended up into what he is now as SK.
I want to see the history with him and Void, and see what happened to the previous GH members and a backstory on the current GH members.
I want to know who Slain was before she became a GH and see her history.
I would also like the count’s daughter to return as an apostle to fight Guts. And see the guy with the circle blades (forgot his name) team up with Guys to fight Griffth and the GH.
Lastly I wanna see Guys get a power up in someway so he can realistically face griffith, because currently there’s no way he can beat him.

My personal crack tgeory for bechi the behelit is that it will be used as a catalyst for sherikes biggest spell. we know that the god hand are essentially unbeatable, and that the behelit acts as a warp pipe straight to the bottom of the astral realm. I believe they will reverse engineer the artifiact and use it in a way to trap the god hand in the abyss and sever that section of the astral world from the rest of reality.

I don't know if they said the ark after this one will be the final one. I think they just said that there are a few more chapters to make until this ark was finished, then they will start a new one, but I don't think they said the new ark is the last one. Someone point me to a link if I'm wrong.
I totally forgot Puck named the Behelit Betchi. LOL. He really takes care of that thing like a pet too. I mean it is harmless when it's not being used for the obvious. Plus, it's not its fault what it is. I wonder what the origin of the Behelits are. Maybe Betchi was a person once.
I have 2 questions that bother me with this series. Granted, they are not as important to the plot, but I would still like the fact that Griffith had most of Charlotte's family killed and the fact that Serpico knows he and Farnese are half siblings to come out. They're not major to the plot, or at least they don't seem to be at the moment, but both of these being cases of one character who knows something that they aren't telling another character they are around a lot is annoying to me, especially with the Serpico/Farnese situation because I see no reason why he can't tell her already.

On the Idea of Evil: If it is the result of spontaneous/uncontrolled human action/forces, acting as a super-natural uncontrolled force... If it is destiny itself represented in the most materialistic (philosophically) way possible (i.e., the natural, necessary result of things as they are, without any subjective/conscious intervention on it with enough agency, substantivity and capacity to change the bigger path) ... Then it is no different from the lack of conscious control (on a social, not merely individual level) over our own, very real and material, social relations. And we have to approach it in the same way we should do with real humanity.
Same as in the world of Berserk humanity want reasons for sadness, for pain, for misery, etc., but don't want sadness, pain, misery, etc., and they don't inflict or suffer it consciously on a social level (I'm not saying there are no d*ckheads or malicious people in the story, but the whole is always more than the sum of the parts), we don't do that either. We didn't collectively and actively choose to create the social conditions in which a big part of the population engage in stultifying jobs to afford a poor living, then suffer from depression, anxiety, etc., and a lesser part feed off of it to live like kings... But it has been the natural, spontaneous result of how we came to produce and reproduce our means of living through necessity (i.e. through the unavoidable circumstances of the starting point of us being primates living in the wild millions of years ago), though the lack of references of freedom (it couldn't exist just yet, outside its 'natural' form), through the lack of control over natural forces in the first place, and through the lack of control over social forces once we progressively started to organize ourselves in newer ways to survive, progressively controlling the laws of nature to our advantage; i.e. through the lack of freedom to organize social life as we want (we did it because there was no other choice: our background as an independent species separating ourselves from the wilderness was scarce to say the least)... But that background is no longer scarce, and through the historical experience of millions of years, we finally created the means to make freedom possible in a social scale, we are at the precursor of another historical stage of humanity... But there is one last barrier to break to make it not just possible, but real.
I said freedom couldn't exist just yet... Freedom and necessity are opposites, one is the negation of the other, one cannot exist without the other, and so one cannot be defined if not through the relation with the other. So, for humanity to be free, to break its chains from the unavoidable fate born from its way of living up until now, it has to negate itself (in a dialectical way... Not in a "say 'no' to yourself" way...), to transform itself. Humanity is a social animal species, our nature is our historically determined, concrete social relations, so our nature is historical and not immutable or eternal. What separates us from other animal species is that we produce our means of living in accordance to the historical stage we're in, defined by those concrete social relations, product of our own collective action. We can't get rid of the necessity of natural things (and it is not the natural world that make us slave to necessity), we can't get rid of death or pain (we are naturally limited and sentient beings), but we can get rid of the social causes for them (wage labour, starvation, evictions, reactionary wars...). We can organize the production and reproduction of our means of living in a conscious way, because we already created the means through which that production is no longer individual/familiar/isolated but social, and through which it becomes necessary to plan some of the outcomes of it. But the social relations we live in now don't allow it to the fullest, it still 'lives' in contradiction: these are still the ones through which only a part of the population privately benefit and regulate to their advantage the social production and its outcomes, and not humanity as a whole, auto-conscious and auto-regulated organism. That is our last barrier, and I think that is the last barrier to break in Berserk too.
We've seen how agency and subjective action are given facts in Berserk, even if only still at an individual level (Guts, Skull Knight, mages, etc.) and at precise moments (The Eclipse, The Festival, etc.), given that the IoE controls humanity at a subconscious level in the physical realm, i.e., only if you live 'inside the story' (SK to Guts talking about Femto in chapter 237) ... But we know too that those living in the Interstice and beyond, and those who use magic (if I'm not mistaken, humans like Farnese should count too), already have if 'merely half a step' (or more) outside of it (chapter 142). If so... If Fantasia is the merging of the physical and astral worlds, if magic and mysticism are one with the reason of the physical world too... Aren't these the world-scale conditions, created by the God Hand to their advantage (so outside of humanity's collective, conscious volition and action, but created nonetheless through the agents of its collective, unconscious actions), through which humanity in the world of Berserk can get to transform its way of life? If so, to take down the IoE, humanity has to surpass one last barrier, and that barrier is too the social organization through which it is in need of Holy Saviours (actually resulting in the economic projections and benefits of the Aristocracy revolving around Griffith), instead of creating their own destiny with their hands, making it their own collective, conscious will... And Guts know a bit about that.
For that, I guess some kind of revelation has to take place, not only regarding the true nature of Apostles or the God Hand (both formerly humans), but the underlying reasons through which these beings could come to existence in the first place and control humanity. If so, I could see a final war (I guess through the whole Second Empire of Humanity, already built by then, not only in Falconia) between those (humans, apostles, mages, etc.) who actively engage and promote the IoE and those who are against it. Griffith/the God Hand would be at the head of the first, and Guts at the vanguard of the second. Of course, I hope Guts' party wins ;)
As an ending quote for this already biblically large comment:
«Darwin did not know what a bitter satire he wrote on mankind, and especially on his countrymen, when he showed that free competition, the struggle for existence, which the economists celebrate as the highest historical achievement, is the normal state of the animal kingdom. Only conscious organisation of social production, in which production and distribution are carried on in a planned way, can lift mankind above the rest of the animal world as regards the social aspect, in the same way that production in general has done this for men in their aspect as species. Historical evolution makes such an organisation daily more indispensable, but also with every day more possible. From it will date a new epoch of history, in which mankind itself, and with mankind all branches of its activity, and especially natural science, will experience an advance that will put everything preceding it in the deepest shade. » - Friedrich Engels, "Dialectics of Nature".

Skull knight will fuse the dragonslayer with beihelits to fight Griffith. Durring the fight, guts will use the berserk Armour almost to the point of death until the full moon comes out, turning Griffith in to the child. At that moment, the behelit activates as guts is ok his last breath The sacrifice he makes will be the boy, killing Griffith in the process and removing the brand from him and caska. guts' new form will be the merging of him with the Armour and of the beast of darkness , now zodd gets his wish to fight the ultimate fight. • @TheDonLemonSnickety

Damn…that point about each major arc ending with some huge event scaling upwards as we go on is a REALLY good point…and that coupled with the 1000 years prior Geiseric situation where an entire civilization was lost, has some very possible implications for Falconia aka the whole of humanity. Miura was never predictable in the least but that does seem like some very possible macro foreshadowing. I don’t think the story will end that way because I couldn’t imagine a story with the narrative subtlety of Berserk ending with some grand cheesecake like human extinction, and far more likely to be something that’ll be emotionally jarring in a pleasant or unpleasant way on a personal level for the reader. I’m pretty confident whatever closure the story ever gives us will NOT be simply the defeat of Griffith in a physical sense or the “end of the world” but something more like a rift between Griffith and the Godhand and/or either Griffith, Guts or Casks sacrificing themselves in some unexpected way. Who knows. I don’t think this story gives us any safe bets in trying to guess what’ll happen. I don’t even know if ending it in a way that’ll satisfy anyone is even possible. There are people that have been following this story for either their entire literate life or like 30+ years, right!? What story has EVER been so epic and set both in a fictional and real world timescale so massive? The Bible? Maybe? if so, that’s only because Revelation comes after a bunch of boring stuff repeated like 4 times. Holy Pimp slap! Revelation is kinda like the Christian version of the Eclipse (omg nobody else use that analogy it’s mine! I’m foreal you guys 🧐 !!)

In that chapter the idea of evil spoke to griffith about them being a part of each other and i think T.I.O.E has built the story so far to make Griffith the desired God, aka the Idea of evil incarnate, in the flesh.
But if he builts a safe haven for humanity, and fantastic beasts and monsters cant harm humanity, people wont suffer as much and won't cling to a savior/religion as much as they did before, which might be Gods undoing.

I always thought the behelit will be activated by someone in his party and I believe due to chekovs gun it’ll be used. Now based off your dragon slayer theory for the behelit I think maybe if Guts were to have the dwarves fuse the Behelit with the Berserker armor it’ll give him some sort of insane dimension hopping ability or in a way alter space around him to help him fight the Godhand. We saw Sk avoid Griffith using his GH powers to smash a bunch of apostles but he avoided it. I think an ability similar to this will happen.

Danann says "They will emerge from the ground one by one" If she's referring to the godhand like some people have said, then it could be leading to an apostle ceremony, traditionally the godhand only all appear in one place when somebody is about to become an apostle. Skull Knight also said to Guts that he has reached the end of his journey after he arrived on Elfhelm, but we all know that berserk isn't going to end on Elfhelm, so saying this is the end doesn't make much sense, but maybe the reason he was destined to go to Elfhelm in the first place was so he could carry the behelit to its final destination, so now that Bechi has finally made it to where it needs to be, in that sense his journey has finally come to an end

Personal theory: The behelit Guts carries is actually for Casca, and her wish will be the destruction of humanities self-imposed misery, which means instead of humanity collectively asking “why do we suffer?” The collective thought becomes a more empowering “we will get through this”.
This means that the idea of evil stops creating monsters and suffering to justify the atrocities people face and give them an origin, but rather personal satisfaction when a hardship is overcome, making it more “the will of perseverance”.
As a result, the Godhand are depowered, and no more monsters are created. Instead, humanity finds value and courage to defeat evil that exists in the world and develop a drive to endure and find satisfaction in both the eradication of evil, as well as the peace that ensues after, no matter how brief.
In essence, every human becomes a struggler.
Her sacrifice will be her child/Moonchild. And without his physical vessel, Griffith reverts to his tortured, broken body as it was before the Eclipse, forever broken and rendered impotent as a threat.
She and Guts feel the loss of their child, but as per her own wish, they continue to live and persevere.
