When we say "The City of Bridges"...we aren't kidding! I live 8 miles away from the city and cross 8 bridges to get there! They aren't all large bridges, but they span the valleys between all the hills!

Growing up in Pittsburgh my dad had a case of beer delivered to our home every Wednesday. Fort Pitt Brewing Company. Cheapest beer in the world except “Grain Belt”. Long gone.

WELL DONE! 1. Point State Park 2. Fort Pitt Museum YES; for your viewers/readers, Ft Pitt Museum is in Point State Park. Market Sq is a short walk. 3. Market Square 4. Primanit Brothers Bar & Grill Stop in for a beer and fries; go to Cafe Raymond around teh corner for really good sammies or Pittsburgh Sandwich Society in Strange Roots Beers in Millvale. 5. Randyland !!! 6. Bicycle Heaven !!! 7. Duquesne Inclinde 8. Point of View Park This is iconic. 9. Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium Really good zoo and aquarium. Fun events. 10. Condado Tacos There are a couple of these around; I like the one at the edge of downtown best. Stop in for a margarita on your way from downtown to The Strip. 11. Acrisure Stadium STILLERS! 12. PPG Paints Arena 13. PNC Park Plan your trip to Pittsburgh around when your fave MLB team will be in town. I'd not seen teh Yankees in the time I lived in NYC, but did see them here for CHEAP. 3 people, food, drinks: u$125 or so. 14. Senator John Heinz History Center A GEM. One of our current family memberships. SUCH awesome Pittsburgh history. 15. Strip District A decent walk from downtown; 91 bus (and others) will take you there but ya gotta get off on Liberty Ave and walk 2 short blocks. Primanti's, Cafe Raymond, Pennsylvania Macaroni Company, Maiku is our favorite pho place, but who comes to Pittsburgh for Viet food? People like Rolands, but Luke Wholey's has better seafood IMHO. Roland's tho for bevvies. Strip District Terminal has a bunch of new restaurants. The Carnegie Museums are also wonderful: Natural History Art Science Center (model train ROOM!), incl a WW2 sub Warhol, open until 10p on Friday. If you think Lower Manhattan is walkable, Pittsburgh is even more so.
Repost, from a foodie perspective: Ages ago, a bud would meet his family in some city for their yearly reunion. One year, Pittsburgh. I wondered... WHY? I've lived in NYC, Bay Area, Boston, Baltimore, and a bunch of smaller places and have travelled. Now that I live here, there is nowhere else I'd live (12 years) in the US. Prices are still reasonable; coming from NYC, thought we'd be in a culinary waste land. NOTHING could be further from the facts, Jack. My fave pizza is here (Vincent's Pizza Park, tho outside the city); I've not tried everywhere in NYC but many places and Pittsburgh rates. On that topic, we have credible pie; skip Murray Ave in Sq Hill. Fazio's is my Son's fave, and Pizza Italia is my fave city pie (Bloomfield). OP touches on tåko; I've not been, but in the FB Foodie group, seems it's hit and miss. Try Meat and Potatoes downtown, or Pusadee's here in Lawrenceville. Pusadee's is a destination (91 bus from downtown); weird Thai. My Wife is Thai, and I've never had food in Thailand like that. Also outside the city, Maenam in Blawnox; tho, Nickie's Thai (downtown) has a fun bar w/ cheesy tropical drinks. Careful: word on the street is Nickie's may have started adding a service charge, aside from tip and tax. In that restaurant strip, wi/ Nickie's at one end is Sienna Mercado. Meatballs on 1st floor, finer dining on 2nd, and 3rd is a beer garden. Recommended: meatballs then up to the 3rd floor. Pamela's: Strip is OK, but the one in Millvale is an old school soda shop. Sorry, aughtside the city. Also in Millvale is Strange Roots beer, with Pittsburgh Sandwich Society. Nashville chix is my fave anywhere; order lotsa fries. Their In n Aught burger is MUCH better than In n Out. Fun there is Grist Mill; beer is OK, food trucks, but the fun vibe. Back to the city: skip Primanti's. OR, go for a beer and fries to the one in The Strip. Then go to Cafe Raymond around the corner. Skip any Primanti's outside THe Strip. Coop de Ville, also in The Strip. Möet vending machine. Ms Pac Man and all your fave video parlor games. Bowling. FUN DRINKS. Fried chicken and other southern fare. ALSO a destination. Near is Kelly O's, of DDD fame. Not really haute cuisine, but old school Yinzer fare done really well. The one Guy visited is outside the city, methinks, but Klavon's. Chocolate brownie under chocolate ice cream under their chocolate whipped cream. Continuing outside the city is Cinderlands; their beers are 2nd fave in Pittsburgh and it has a fun vibe, tho keep going a couple blocks to Long Story Short. It's also a Cinderlands, but only sammies. Discuss their offerings with the servers; they KNOW their stuff and their recommends are awesome. Round Corner Cantina for small distillery tequilas. Out in Rankin is my fave brewery, East End Brewing. The food is quite good but consider eating before you go there. Circling around to Squirrel Hill (again, avoid the pizza here; VERY overrated) is the visually unassuming Taiwan Cafe 33. Try the soup dumplings. I hated American Chinese lo mein; TC33's is the best. Lots of other places you may enjoy in Sq Hill; noodle shop close which people like. Squirrel Hill Sports bar for bands and Squirrel Hill "Cafe" for dive bar. Murray Ave Grill has nice pours of reds. Also: South Side for partying; yikes. Careful. Tiki Bar is magnificently cheesy. FatHead's. Burgers and sammies, and BIG beer selection. Jack's is an iconic dive bar.
