    Nice DIY!...best part of taking this camping is after you carry it up a mountain you can slide on it all the way down...do you have any fan meet ups scheduled?

      It's cast iron, spray it off and it'll be fine, hahaha - No fan meetups scheduled, where should we organize one?

      I feel like a you have a strong fan base in Sacramento, CA...specifically October 13.

      TheoryBrown so you’re telling me there’s a venue that has enough space to accommodate all of my California fans?

    Just ordered my Bayou griddle from Amazon. Cannot deliver until May, but looks really easy to do. Have had the Coleman single burner for years, this will be a great accessory to it.

    Great idea! I think Bayou saw this video because they are selling your exact item for $88.88 on Amazon

      The griddle comes with the legs for $88.88. If you add everything else on the list, it totals to about $185 now.
      In just 2 short years, the total more than doubled.

    Thank you sir. I like it because the disk does not sit on top of the burner you can pack the disc with a lot of food and don't worry about the disk tipping over. And yes I just order mine

    Just got the Discada from Wayfair. $38, two day delivery. You by far have posted the simplest, sturdiest, and best “skottle” jack I’ve seen on UA-cam! What kind of bag are you storing/carrying the setup in?

    I like this one because you could use it over the fire also and not have to set up a propane bottle underneath that excetera. after you wash it like that you should actually put it over a burner and dried off with the heat

    Good video man I’ve been on the fence about whether to buy a grill or create one of these skottles, is there anything u can’t cook on there vs a grill?

    Disco, not Discada, thats the name of the food you cook on it. Regardless, this is a cast iron griddle. A disco, skottle, or cowboy wok is made from a carbon-steel plow disk. You wont get the heat zones on this that you get with a proper skottle. The food cooks on very high heat, then sits on the edge to keep it warm while the next food cooks. A disco is a plow disc with a ring welded on it increase the capacity and the discada is a type of mexican stew made on the disco.

    How do you keep your ghee from solidifying in that squirt bottle? Do you make it yourself or do you buy it? Also, some people call it a LARIAT. Nice production on this video too.

      Costco - that organic jar of Ghee, it has some solids but they melt quick. I cut my squirt bottle tip to be a little bigger.

    I would definitely buy one of those things after seeing this. The skottle or skittle or whatever that cast iron thing is. I didn’t even know it existed but then again I don’t go camping and probably never will, but in any case, if I end up like the Seattle homeless, I’m definitely investing in one of these.
    I’m particularly glad you used ghee. Ghee is an essential ingredient in a low carb diet and until now I didn’t know what the fuck it really was or how to use it, so...yay! But I’m not lactose intolerant (thank GOD) so I may just stick with good ol butter. So wait a minute...does that mean you can’t eat cheese? I would die. How ever did you manage doing Keto? And did I miss something or did you seriously not season that gorgeous steak BEFORE you carelessly threw it on your grill? Without pepper!? A New York steak commands your respect! Wtf was that!
    And the axes...should your viewers be concerned? You know my messenger is always open. Also you can call 1-800-273-8255. It’s not only useful for suicide but homicide as well. Ask for Andrew- he’s super helpful.
    On a more serious note...dude. Straight up. There’s something dark in your house. Every time you film in there I can see it. Was it built in the 60s-70s? Are you experiencing any paranormal activity? Perhaps consider smudging.

    • @DirtandFire
      @DirtandFire 5 років тому +2

      No paranormal activity to report, there is this black sludge that drips down the walls every so often though, followed by a child's laughter. I figure I just left the TV on and it's too humid inside. *shrug* And the steak was seasoned properly, there's not much of a difference doing it before or after the cook, the seasoning adheres the same. Also, I can eat goat and sheep cheese, no lactose in those.

    23May20. Some jackwagon went on Amazon a couple weeks ago and bought up all the $26(Prime) units only to turn around and relist them there for more than double. Shame on me for not ordering prior.
    $60 is too much for what it is. I'd use a regular wok or find a real disc (harrow) before I'll pay THAT price.

    • @norsefalconer
      @norsefalconer 4 роки тому

      I caved and bought one for $45 on Prime Day (10/13/20). They're now (10/18/20) between $62~80 USD.

    • @franklugo6928

      And now they are at $88.88 with only 1 available. Time to find an alternative to the alternative, if its even possible. I'm thinking of welding some couplers to a cheap carbon steel wok.
