I think See That is that kind of comeback that has to please general public and fans but at the same time gives members and company space and time to think about next step. Kinda like Party O Clock between LMLT and Dash yk? Ofcourse See That is better in terms of creativity. I think their next one (maybe full album?) will be way stronger and innovative.
When I sat down to analyze this album. I had people's criticisms at the back of my mind and again I had to put those aside and look at what I enjoyed and I love this album. Is see that as a title track above Dash. I truly don't know. But I think see that is a commentary on how the world perceives them. I think they're even aware of their criticisms and yet they simply don't care. It is so self-aware and even though criticism is justified. It only proves the point of their song. I noticed a theme of rebellion within each of their songs and it makes sense. This group goals against the norms of the music industry musically. It's almost that they're aware that they're not the typical K-pop girl group. Even while the discussion of rebellion is happening I've noticed songs like moving on could imply how rebellion affects that individual. I'm basically reciting the script of my video here but yeah I think this album holds a lot more depth and I really enjoyed it. I can't choose between either albums.

They are always exploring and experimenting with their music, while keeping true to their narrative, themes and overall artistry. One of their nicknames is "melting pot of genres" for a reason It's interesting to see at least three JYP artists dealing with the "weirdos, outcasts and the ones who live on the fringes of society" narrative, often exploring self-identity, loneliness and societal expectations, while each of them has an unique perspective and circumstances on that narrative (Maybe I'm overthinking it a little bit but I think it could be an interesting topic to discuss and analyse, nonetheless)
I think my favorite track is Sickuhh. I like it when groups collaborate with other artists in a song. I feel like only soloists tend to do it tho? I think that’s a shame bc it can add something cool to the overall sound to the album. Kid Milli’s verses were good. I understand why sickuhh might not be everyone’s fav, but for NMIXX’s first all rap song, I think it’s cool! Also the song structure is cool, I like how hell they opted for an outro to end the song instead of another chorus

Red Velvet is my ult group and when I saw NMIXX do a cover of them i was in LOVE! i see their similarities and that's what got me hooked, i'm def a stan!
Stick Out is the very first music album I bought, so it says a lot about my respect for them. I liked every song for various reasons, and "Love is Lonely" became my favorite since highlight medley. Also "Sickuhh" really surprised me. See that has a cool idea - in order to be a star, you gotta be a stick out. In my opinion it is quite a great song and reminds me somewhat of O.O (which I love) The best part about Nmixx is their constant growth and desire to experiment, so with every comeback I can be sure that they will try something new and will become better as artists. It's probably something that I feel is lacking in Lesserafim for me.
As someone who is a much bigger fan of NMIXX than Le Sserafim, this seems like an odd comment considering how much the members of Le Sserafim are heavily involved in production on their own music, while NMIXX doesn't seem to really be involved in the production side of things, like, at all. I'm not saying that NMIXX aren't growing as artists, but if literally producing your own songs *isn't* growing as an artist, I really struggle to think what qualifies.
@@d.parasolI don't know what the op means by Nmixx growing as artists but not Lesserafim but personally just producing music isn't growing as an artist and I wouldn't call Lesserafim a group heavily involved in the music production of their group that would be groups like Stray kids, BTS and Seventeen. The members participate in either producing or writing lyrics for 1-2 tracks each comeback and they're credited with 6-8 other songwriters. Every single track they've worked on, they did that with multiple songwriters. So, we don't really know what each member's writing or production style is and how much it has evolved since their debut. I can't look at a lyric and say that's definitely written by Sakura or Chaewon. They only member whose style is somewhat clear is Yunjin and listening to Crazier on this album shows me zero growth especially in terms of production, its the type of song of Yunjin would make on auto pilot mode. The members participating in songwriting is a great thing and I would love see the members individual styles develop as their career progresses but for now I can't see any growth in that matter. I think fans put idols being involved in songwriting on some pedestal. Songwriting is not the only thing that makes a singer an artist. Nmixx is consistently developing their vocals and performing style which in my opinion is artistic growth. I remember Jiwoo saying is some show or interview during this album promotion that she felt she wasn't growing as a vocalist at all so she started from scratch and took vocal lessons and learned singing from the basics again. Each member has a distinct vocal and performance style and they've worked so much on complimenting each other and blending together. Their group chemistry as performers has improved so much.

They still come out clearly ahead of many beloved groups on this point. (Also, just to be clear, songwriting, composition, and production are three distinct parts of making music.) Let's talk about Crazy. Yunjin produced Crazier, but a number of the girls worked on writing and composition of other tracks on the album. And while they don't feature high notes in every song, there are a vast number of desirable vocal qualities, and they've developed these qualities extensively while also improving their live vocal performances and learning and adapting a new style of dance for Crazy. Of course, Crazy also features a new genre for Le Sserafim, EDM/house. When it comes to Crazier, I believe that in addition to being involved in writing, composing, *and* producing Crazier, I believe Yunjin was, for the first time, the vocal director on the track. It's not the most daring track on the mini-album, but that step *is* progression. Being an idol is also holistic, with many expectations not related to making music, and it's not like Le Sserafim lack in *any* of the non-artistic qualifications of being an idol, except maybe that they make it easy for people to pick on them. My favourite of the album is See that? Funnily enough, I got tired of Dash after a while but I've only liked See that? more and more since its release. A second favourite of the album is Red light but we go
See That absolutely measures up to Dash. While Dash is great, I think Sonar was way stronger as a song. I agree that Break, overall, is better than Stickout. But Stickout is more daring in its uneven song mix, and I appreciate it. Back to See That… it grows on me over time in a way Dash doesn’t. Dash wears out faster. Maybe because See That is just not like many other songs. Understanding it is not hard once someone explains that star and weird are homophones in Korean, and the song plays on both meanings. While Dash has been more successful, that doesn’t mean better. But I will see as both songs get older how the balance feels. I like them both a lot.
I would argue See That is more successful if your looking at kcharts cause its Nmixx 2nd highest charting song on melon at 28 and might break into to 20 nxt week hopefully
I don't think they should switch title tracks when the B-sides might be better, simply because the B-sides being good is literally a part of their concept as a group.

For me See that is like the ultimate grower, many nmixx title track are grower but see that is like the personification of it. At first i heard something destructured but now i know and i'm more able to comprehend it by listening to it, all seems to flow so amazingly ! At a point it might be better than dash for me. The album overall is not as good as break, and it obvious because Break was this magnificient ! But see that and love is lonely are clearly top nmixx songs
Im surprised you said that Break is more cohesive than Stick Out. To me, the first 4 songs of Stick Out really feel part of the same album, whereas the 3 title tracks of Break are all quite different from each other. Besides that, I've already put the two minis into a playlist and have been treating them like a full album. Just listened to them again today. The country switch-up in See That? is sooooo cute and charming
It's hard for me to rank those two songs against each other, I think. I think that i like See That? better because the change-up section has grown on me, whereas my favorite part of the change-up in Dash is Kyujin capping it off. And I think the placement of the change-up in See That? is significantly better. (Also, on the subject of genres, the recent Tiny Desk performance has me convinced that they need to implement jazz as a genre. Everyone in the group has a voice which fits very naturally with the sort of jazz fusion of the backing band in that performance.)
I feel like Love Me Like This, Dash, and See That are quite similar though. They're all steeped in 90s hip hop with loose naturalistic drums. See That and Dash in particular both use a similar eclectic mix of instruments and synths. And honestly I think they're the weakest song on each EP. When I think about that style of hip hop I think of Jay-Z's effortless coolness which doesn't really match any of the members. It's also not a style I associate with uniqueness (even though it may be more unique in Korea, in the West it's the sound of the Super Bowl halftime show) When I look at songs like BOOM and SICKUHH, I wish they'd be the title track instead (maybe add a bridge for Lily and Sullyoon to sing). The b-sides are really good and fresh. Love Is Lonely has an ethereal chorus. Red light sign, but we go is a 2008s EDM dance chorus mixed with grimy verses. BEAT BEAT is a bit less unique bit it could be a Fromis_9 song in a really good way. Moving On captures the feeling of a band so well and builds to a timeless outro. I'm happy that NMIXX is finding fans with Dash and See That. It's great that this genre of music is being represented in NMIXX. But I think NMIXX is at their best when they're belting their hearts out and it's been relegated to all their b-sides for so long. This is a bit of a rant but I do take the sanctity of Mixxpop very seriously.
Since NMIXX is my ult, I have been saving this video for a while I think Stick Out ended up aging even better with the fandom over time rather than initially. Imo Break had a lot more variety (from Run for Roses to Passionfruit) while Stick Out had better production for each track 별별별 really does feel like a Part 2 of Dash as well. I like how this album had a HUGE focus on the lore surrounding Mixxtopia I was a bit disappointed that 별별별 didn't fully commit to the horror concepts they set up in the story films prior to its release. I was hoping for an MV akin to ARTMS' Birth Finally, I am not too sure if I like Love is Lonely more or Red Light Sign...both tracks are just solid
Personally, I love See That a LOT more than Dash. I was one of the few people that actually didn't like Dash that much at all - don't get me wrong, I could tell that it was a good song, but I just didn't like the old-school hip-hop/R&B sound that it had. R&B is my least favorite genre of music and while I have a few R&B songs I do love, for the most part, if a song has an R&B sound to it, then I just won't like it. I similarly don't like old-school, 90s style hip-hop, which is what they did for Dash (I loved the change up section in Dash, but I disliked the rest of the song). I like regular, more modern sounding hip-hop such as trap music, but old-school, 90s hip-hop is just not a genre I enjoy listening to (which is why I disliked that 90s hip-hop section in Stray Kids' S-Class too). That's why I thought I was going to dislike See That as well, since it was also described as an old-school hip-hop song - but I actually ended up loving See That from the very first listen. Yes, it's still old-school hip-hop, but it has a darker and edgier sound to it, which I absolutely love. I've been waiting for NMIXX to go back to a darker sound since they released OO. I can be picky about what genres of music I like to listen to, BUT I am more likely to enjoy any genre of music if it has a darker, more powerful, cinematic, or epic sound to it. I love music with darker sounds/vibes to it, which is why I love genres like EDM and hard rock. I also think that See That, despite having an old-school sound, didn't lean SO much into the "old-school" sound/vibe like I thought that Dash did, which is another reason why I like it more. Honestly, See That is what Dash should've been in my opinion. So overall, I think that See That was better than Dash - not only was the song better, but I love the lyrics, music video, and concept for See That more as well. And while the album as a whole wasn't as great as Break was, I was still happy with the songs on Stick Out. I absolutely love Sickuhh (that's an example of the kind of hip-hop I actually really enjoy listening to), Red Light Sign But We Go (this is truly one of the best songs I've ever heard), and Moving On! I have been an NSWER since the beginning. I have loved most of their songs. The only songs I dislike from them are Party O' Clock, My Gosh, Dash, and XOXO (so you can see that it's their mid-tempo R&B stuff I dislike). And yes, I even love OO and Young Dumb Stupid - those are two of my favorite NMIXX songs actually! Anyways, I hope that NMIXX will be done with the old-school hip-hop songs for their title tracks - they need to release an EDM song for their next comeback. An NMIXX title track that utilizes EDM subgenres like industrial bass/cyberpunk/hardwave/dark techno and has a hard rock change up section would be a dream come true for me lol🤣 Anyways, thank you for making this video, I appreciated hearing your thoughts and opinions and I hope you'll have a great day😊
tbh we all know squad can give these girls marketable songs and they would gain immense popularity worldwide and follow the trend like other groups are doing right now but instead they sticking to their own concept and popularizing mixxpop which makes me appreciate them more....
NMIXX already tried doing what’s popular and everyone including fans were upse. People were saying they were having a identity crisis and that they’re lame for “giving up on their sound” then when they switched back to Mixxpop ppl were mad again, but Dash was so good majority had to give them their flowers.
In my opinion, see that does live up to dash! I’m really happy that they came back with a very great successor of a song. But if we’re talking about the albums, BREAK takes the cakes. The whole album is FLAWLESS. The transitions from one song to another were absolutely amazing. One of the greatest albums this year. STICK OUT on the other hand, though has grown on me, feels a little bit sparse. There are many moments where i felt ‘not quite there’. im still really excited though, to see the last instalment of the fe3o4 trilogy and more from them.

For me, see that structure is rather strange in composure to the audience yet it feels calm and pretty flat but dynamic at the same time. Thus after listening it a few times with on going repeat, I found myself lost in the song like I dont know anymore whether it will be the bridge next, verse 1, or verse 2, its completely hypnotized me that I dont even know how many times I have listened to it😂😂
NMIXX was one of the group that took me while to get into. But after forcing myself to listen and understand I started to really like them, there live vocals are so addicting imo!
As someone who isn’t an nswer and didn’t really understand the hype with Dash, I actually enjoy See That! It’s not topping my personal charts or anything, but it’s a fun time.
the album as a whole didn't resonate with me at the beginning, but there was this eerie feel to 'see that?' that made me keep coming back. and the more i listened, the more i understood, helping me make sense of the rest of the album. i'm really excited to see what nmixx brings us next, i can really see them going full horror next comeback.
I made a review on it like 2 weeks ago and nothing changed, I still love it insanely much. As a whole minialbum, I honestly prefer Stick Out over Break. While Break has the 3 of my top 6 NMIXX songs in Break The Wall, Run For Roses and Soñar (Breaker), Stick Out presents in my opinion more consistent sound and style, which makes me come back to it more often. If we talk about the tracks separately Break is winning for sure 🥰.
While i did wish for dash but somehow different or even better i do very appreciate that they don’t stay in the past with their music. There’s a multiple examples of groups(their company’s) chasing after previous hit songs but from what i can tell that never really works out because it becomes uncreative and boring.
Lo que amo de NMIXX es que no trata a su público como estúpidos, crea una narrativa, la respeta y se esfuerza en seguirla reforzando. "See that" como canción es un "bicho raro", la "oveja negra" del EP, una canción difícil de entender a la primera, que es cuestión de tiempo comprender y apreciar, una canción que obliga al espectador a prestar atención y exige mayor retención de todo lo que está sucediendo sonoramente. Esta canción no trata al espectador como a un niño que no puede prestar atención más de dos segundos y eso se aprecia mucho. No me pasaba esto desde O.O y Dice, pese a que esta canción no es tan compleja o elaborada, aún así sumerge al oyente en su planteamiento de ser verdaderas ovejas negras de la industria.
The whole Stick Out ep was a hit. The only song I genuinely did not like is sickuhh and I think its just too repetitive and they could've done better. (shout out to redlight sign but we go. best song on the ep)
i really likedthe acapella version for every song theyve done, but the instrumentals in the songs, especially in their recent comeback, have been a bit too much for me

While Dash has been more successful, that doesn’t mean better. But I will see as both songs get older how the balance feels. I like them both a lot.
I would argue See That is more successful if your looking at kcharts cause its Nmixx 2nd highest charting song on melon at 28 and might break into to 20 nxt week hopefully
I agree that Sonar was stronger as a song than Dash, I wish that Sonar was the main title track! I love Sonar so much, it's such an amazing song😊
I don't think they should switch title tracks when the B-sides might be better, simply because the B-sides being good is literally a part of their concept as a group.

For me See that is like the ultimate grower, many nmixx title track are grower but see that is like the personification of it. At first i heard something destructured but now i know and i'm more able to comprehend it by listening to it, all seems to flow so amazingly ! At a point it might be better than dash for me. The album overall is not as good as break, and it obvious because Break was this magnificient ! But see that and love is lonely are clearly top nmixx songs
Im surprised you said that Break is more cohesive than Stick Out. To me, the first 4 songs of Stick Out really feel part of the same album, whereas the 3 title tracks of Break are all quite different from each other.
Besides that, I've already put the two minis into a playlist and have been treating them like a full album. Just listened to them again today. The country switch-up in See That? is sooooo cute and charming
It's hard for me to rank those two songs against each other, I think. I think that i like See That? better because the change-up section has grown on me, whereas my favorite part of the change-up in Dash is Kyujin capping it off. And I think the placement of the change-up in See That? is significantly better.
(Also, on the subject of genres, the recent Tiny Desk performance has me convinced that they need to implement jazz as a genre. Everyone in the group has a voice which fits very naturally with the sort of jazz fusion of the backing band in that performance.)
I feel like Love Me Like This, Dash, and See That are quite similar though. They're all steeped in 90s hip hop with loose naturalistic drums. See That and Dash in particular both use a similar eclectic mix of instruments and synths.
And honestly I think they're the weakest song on each EP. When I think about that style of hip hop I think of Jay-Z's effortless coolness which doesn't really match any of the members. It's also not a style I associate with uniqueness (even though it may be more unique in Korea, in the West it's the sound of the Super Bowl halftime show)
When I look at songs like BOOM and SICKUHH, I wish they'd be the title track instead (maybe add a bridge for Lily and Sullyoon to sing). The b-sides are really good and fresh. Love Is Lonely has an ethereal chorus. Red light sign, but we go is a 2008s EDM dance chorus mixed with grimy verses. BEAT BEAT is a bit less unique bit it could be a Fromis_9 song in a really good way. Moving On captures the feeling of a band so well and builds to a timeless outro.
I'm happy that NMIXX is finding fans with Dash and See That. It's great that this genre of music is being represented in NMIXX. But I think NMIXX is at their best when they're belting their hearts out and it's been relegated to all their b-sides for so long.
This is a bit of a rant but I do take the sanctity of Mixxpop very seriously.

I think Stick Out ended up aging even better with the fandom over time rather than initially. Imo Break had a lot more variety (from Run for Roses to Passionfruit) while Stick Out had better production for each track
별별별 really does feel like a Part 2 of Dash as well. I like how this album had a HUGE focus on the lore surrounding Mixxtopia
I was a bit disappointed that 별별별 didn't fully commit to the horror concepts they set up in the story films prior to its release. I was hoping for an MV akin to ARTMS' Birth
Finally, I am not too sure if I like Love is Lonely more or Red Light Sign...both tracks are just solid
Personally, I love See That a LOT more than Dash. I was one of the few people that actually didn't like Dash that much at all - don't get me wrong, I could tell that it was a good song, but I just didn't like the old-school hip-hop/R&B sound that it had. R&B is my least favorite genre of music and while I have a few R&B songs I do love, for the most part, if a song has an R&B sound to it, then I just won't like it. I similarly don't like old-school, 90s style hip-hop, which is what they did for Dash (I loved the change up section in Dash, but I disliked the rest of the song). I like regular, more modern sounding hip-hop such as trap music, but old-school, 90s hip-hop is just not a genre I enjoy listening to (which is why I disliked that 90s hip-hop section in Stray Kids' S-Class too).
That's why I thought I was going to dislike See That as well, since it was also described as an old-school hip-hop song - but I actually ended up loving See That from the very first listen. Yes, it's still old-school hip-hop, but it has a darker and edgier sound to it, which I absolutely love. I've been waiting for NMIXX to go back to a darker sound since they released OO. I can be picky about what genres of music I like to listen to, BUT I am more likely to enjoy any genre of music if it has a darker, more powerful, cinematic, or epic sound to it. I love music with darker sounds/vibes to it, which is why I love genres like EDM and hard rock. I also think that See That, despite having an old-school sound, didn't lean SO much into the "old-school" sound/vibe like I thought that Dash did, which is another reason why I like it more. Honestly, See That is what Dash should've been in my opinion.
So overall, I think that See That was better than Dash - not only was the song better, but I love the lyrics, music video, and concept for See That more as well. And while the album as a whole wasn't as great as Break was, I was still happy with the songs on Stick Out. I absolutely love Sickuhh (that's an example of the kind of hip-hop I actually really enjoy listening to), Red Light Sign But We Go (this is truly one of the best songs I've ever heard), and Moving On! I have been an NSWER since the beginning. I have loved most of their songs. The only songs I dislike from them are Party O' Clock, My Gosh, Dash, and XOXO (so you can see that it's their mid-tempo R&B stuff I dislike). And yes, I even love OO and Young Dumb Stupid - those are two of my favorite NMIXX songs actually! Anyways, I hope that NMIXX will be done with the old-school hip-hop songs for their title tracks - they need to release an EDM song for their next comeback. An NMIXX title track that utilizes EDM subgenres like industrial bass/cyberpunk/hardwave/dark techno and has a hard rock change up section would be a dream come true for me lol🤣 Anyways, thank you for making this video, I appreciated hearing your thoughts and opinions and I hope you'll have a great day😊

tbh we all know squad can give these girls marketable songs and they would gain immense popularity worldwide and follow the trend like other groups are doing right now but instead they sticking to their own concept and popularizing mixxpop which makes me appreciate them more....
NMIXX already tried doing what’s popular and everyone including fans were upse. People were saying they were having a identity crisis and that they’re lame for “giving up on their sound” then when they switched back to Mixxpop ppl were mad again, but Dash was so good majority had to give them their flowers.
In my opinion, see that does live up to dash! I’m really happy that they came back with a very great successor of a song. But if we’re talking about the albums, BREAK takes the cakes. The whole album is FLAWLESS. The transitions from one song to another were absolutely amazing. One of the greatest albums this year. STICK OUT on the other hand, though has grown on me, feels a little bit sparse. There are many moments where i felt ‘not quite there’. im still really excited though, to see the last instalment of the fe3o4 trilogy and more from them.
After having more time to listen to it my appreciation for the album further as well.

I’m surprised they didn’t do a repackage of fe304 break and make it into their first album. That mini album was so good and I would have happily listened to them with the stick out songs
For me, see that structure is rather strange in composure to the audience yet it feels calm and pretty flat but dynamic at the same time. Thus after listening it a few times with on going repeat, I found myself lost in the song like I dont know anymore whether it will be the bridge next, verse 1, or verse 2, its completely hypnotized me that I dont even know how many times I have listened to it😂😂

NMIXX was one of the group that took me while to get into. But after forcing myself to listen and understand I started to really like them, there live vocals are so addicting imo!
As someone who isn’t an nswer and didn’t really understand the hype with Dash, I actually enjoy See That! It’s not topping my personal charts or anything, but it’s a fun time.
the album as a whole didn't resonate with me at the beginning, but there was this eerie feel to 'see that?' that made me keep coming back. and the more i listened, the more i understood, helping me make sense of the rest of the album. i'm really excited to see what nmixx brings us next, i can really see them going full horror next comeback.

I made a review on it like 2 weeks ago and nothing changed, I still love it insanely much. As a whole minialbum, I honestly prefer Stick Out over Break. While Break has the 3 of my top 6 NMIXX songs in Break The Wall, Run For Roses and Soñar (Breaker), Stick Out presents in my opinion more consistent sound and style, which makes me come back to it more often. If we talk about the tracks separately Break is winning for sure 🥰.

While i did wish for dash but somehow different or even better i do very appreciate that they don’t stay in the past with their music.
There’s a multiple examples of groups(their company’s) chasing after previous hit songs but from what i can tell that never really works out because it becomes uncreative and boring.

"See that" como canción es un "bicho raro", la "oveja negra" del EP, una canción difícil de entender a la primera, que es cuestión de tiempo comprender y apreciar, una canción que obliga al espectador a prestar atención y exige mayor retención de todo lo que está sucediendo sonoramente. Esta canción no trata al espectador como a un niño que no puede prestar atención más de dos segundos y eso se aprecia mucho. No me pasaba esto desde O.O y Dice, pese a que esta canción no es tan compleja o elaborada, aún así sumerge al oyente en su planteamiento de ser verdaderas ovejas negras de la industria.
The whole Stick Out ep was a hit. The only song I genuinely did not like is sickuhh and I think its just too repetitive and they could've done better. (shout out to redlight sign but we go. best song on the ep)
i really likedthe acapella version for every song theyve done, but the instrumentals in the songs, especially in their recent comeback, have been a bit too much for me
