I always loved Roddick as a player, but never expected his podcast to be this good. Pure gold, great flow and awesome insight. Thanks to Gill Gross for recommending
Honestly he's the best commenter and tennis analyst of all time. No other commenter on TV or UA-cam is as funny and honest as Andy. He really needs a TV contract to expand his reach.
Totally agree. Kim Clijsters retired with only one Grand Slam. But after motherhood she came back and amazingly won 3 more Grand Slams. Back then this just isn't done but now Serena Azarenka Kerber Wozniacki are all coming back for more glory but I think only Kim Clijsters have been able to win Grand Slams after motherhood and she won 3x. To think she would have retired with only one Slam would be a serious underachievement given her immense talent. As an aside I always felt sorry for Andy Roddick. He is a very talented player who was just unfortunate to play in the era of the big 3. Roger Federer alone robbed him of at least 5 Grand Slams including Wimbledon. But at least he managed to get one slam.
She's amazing and happy she came back after motherhood to win 3 more Grand Slams. A lot of players are doing that now like Serena Azarenka Kerber Wozniacki they retire then come back for more glory. Back then it just wasn't done. After motherhood you're outta shape and it takes alot of hard work to get back to form. I think Kim Clijsters is the only one that's ever achieved that and winning 3x is crazy. To think she would have retired with only one Grand Slam which would be seriously short of her talent.
Clijsters and Justine Henin were 2 of very few players that could beat Serena in her prime. Oddly both are from Belgium. They must have one hell of an academy there.
clijsters wasnt the first to come back from motherhood - evyonne goolegong and others from that early wooden racquet era did similar and came back better. the body changes and some athletes get a massive bump from it. Kim was adopted as an aussie here in Australia when she was dating hewett, all us aussies had a love hate relationship with little leyton we admired his massive skill but didn't understand his ADHD side...kim would have seen that up close. id love her to comment on hewitt but she never would shes too polite.
I know what Kim means when she loves to just get out and hit. I'm fortunate as I have 3 guys in Austin I can hit with on a fairly regular basis. I love to just play points now, rather than games/sets/matches. Way more fun. Plus, at 66 mobility sucks, so extended rallies are not a thing. I pretty sure Andy can still hit super solidly, and is sandbagging. And Pickle Ball? Really? WTF?

Two of my 2 favorite people! Great interview!
Kim is just so sweet! She has so many outstanding accomplishments. And her coming back to tennis as a Mom always amazes me!

Clisters was the only player that I thought that could hang and even outplay peak Serena

One thing people over look with Serena, so much of the talent was out of tennis

It's strange for Simona to be the PED poster child when Stosur was walking around bigger than Rafa for *years.*
Lol moratoglou releasing top 5 serves on court date.. im glad im not the only one eho cant stand him
I would literally do anything to be Kim Clijsters!!! LOL
