Don't forget to participate in the contest! Winners get to choose the topics of future WYRON episodes More details here ua-cam.com/video/S3aFXp92T18/v-deo.html I've always though the blues were cool and hated the pink - but now that I've done some more research, I've warmed up to both colors! Elivis' guys had some cool guitars!
I had a 1985 reissued pink paisley tele and I wish I had it back, so hell yeah, I'd rock the pink one just because I love Brad Paisley and James Burton.
Always wanted the Blue Flower Tele . I was a teenager when the Japanese reissue came out . If the Mexico factory did one , I might eventually buy one 😁👍🎸
A good friend of mine Bill Crook. The owner and builder of Crook Custom Guitars started remaking these. He was working as a production manager for the band America and he also mixed house for them. He eventually got involved with the guitars due to sound issues. He can play but he is no great player. Any way he started tinkering with the guitars and seeing how they were out together because when you are on the road that is what you do. Fix the things that you have. Before he got into entertainment he was an auto body guy as a young adult. So after awhile he started making guitars out of parts on the road and at home when he got home. He started out by buying old guitars that were had issues and fixing them of course and then on to repainting them. while in Germany he found an old store that had a crap load of paisley wall paper in it. Then he started re creating the Fender Paisley telecaster. We all live in the same area. Myself, Brad Paisley and Bill Crook who I first met while he was working as an intern for a local sound company. I was an engineer and worked on a live Saturday night radio broadcast from a theatre in wheeling West Virginia called Jamboree USA and in the past The Original wheeling Jamboree. a show similar to the opery and the Louisiana Hay ride. We were second only to the opery being the second longest live broadcast country music show in the USA. I watched Brad grow up and he played on the frequently. Well when Bill finally built his first paisley tele worth while he sent Brad one. the rest is history here some 25 years later. You should demo a Crook guitar. Brad obviously doesn't live here anymore but he grew up here and lived here until he eventually moved to Nashville after college at Belmont.
Yes. Pink. Especially a yellowed pink. Paisley is a town in Scotland where a material with the paisley pattern was imported from India. When I was a kid in the 60s, I had a paisley shirt that I loved.
I fell in love at first sight with one of these, about 13 years ago or so, and acquired one swiftly!!! It's one of the Japanese made, '69 reissues, made in the mid-90's... I put on knobs with mother of pearl tops, a mother of pearl pickguard, and custom made Lindy Fralin pickups in it. It's now sounding off with a force that's hard to be beaten.
In 1969 I bought an Olympic White Telecaster with a Bigsby. They had a pink paisley model at the store at the time but it was too rich for my blood. I now kick myself that I didn’t purchase it. A few years ago I found a custom made pink paisley made by master luthier Joe Riggio. It’s a beauty & plays like a dream. It’s worth around $2500 & I feel like I got my money’s worth!
Wesley Zimmerman well said man I’ve always loved his music growing up all I listened to was country and a little classic rock like AC/DC but noticed there guitar skills were overlooked by people he’s one of my favorite guitarists to this day just so much feel in his music
I'd totally rock one of the basses. They recently released a MIJ pink Paisley jazzmaster that I'd totally play too. I might actually have to throw an attempt at finishing a bass like it at some point.
Absolutely YES - a 2016 pink paisley telecaster made in japan is on the way to my door. 3 reasons why / 1. It reminds me of my beautiful wife. 2. It reminds me of my Grandma who was a die hard Elvis fan. And 3. It is a challenge test, step on stage with this pink flower guitar, you know you have to bring the goods 🎸 🌸
omg i understand now... one of my friend bought a jazzmaster Paisley for his newborn girl that he called Paisley (he bought it a few months after) it sounds amazing. the pickgard though is not clear but actually purple
Great video (as usual) but.... I wish you would have shown my favorite version of James Burton's signature tele. The early ones were black with gold paisley across the entire body. I bought one about 14 years ago. It's beautiful!
I owned a mid 80's Japanese made '72 Re-Issue Blue Flower Stratocaster aka "Flower Power". I loved the 3-bolt neck and large headstock. The weight was average. Playability was above average with low action. The tones were more Strat-like than the '57 USA Vintage Series Stratocaster that I was playing at the time. I only had it for a few months before I got an offer that I just couldn't refuse. If it had been the Pink Paisley Stratocaster I probably would've kept it. I just wish that Fender had made a Rosewood version. I think it would've looked better than the Maple.
I love Telecasters, but I don't know if I could gig with a pink guitar. To have one as a collectable would be awesome. I'd prefer the black or flame paisley, though to play on stage.👍😎🎸🎶
I'd absolutely rock one, definitely in the pink version with the actual Paisley pattern, especially if it's aged to that gold color. If I had my way in a fantasy world though, I'd have a custom shop Strat made with a dark red/gold Paisley pattern with a flame neck, Rosewood board, and throw a Lace Holy Grail HSS set in it.
I got to play one of these! I performed at a concert with this guy's blue flower tele. Played Johnny B. Goode and Rock This Town by Stray Cats. Sounded great, but the action was so low, the bending was terribly hard and made my playing a bit sloppy, but I pulled through! Loved the guitar. I think it's groovy
Hey Trogly, another great and fun to watch video! Ever thought about doing a Would You Rock Or Not video on the Gibson les paul Dusk Tiger? I just found out about them and had never heared of one before, and maybe there are more people out here like me! :D Keep on the great job with your videos man! Cheers
Donovan Forsythe, I've got one and it's a great guitar! I upgraded to a Wilkinson compensated brass saddle bridge, Fender Custom Shop Texas Specials, and a Rock Rabbit angled control plate. Totally awesome and tone to boot!
I would love to play a pink Paisley telly baby I'm just about to put my order in for a 68 reissue pretty pricey though but it's more of a collector and an investment Love your show thumbs up from Australia 👍🇭🇲👍🙏
The MIJ guitars are amazing and will increase in value. The next question is the photo flame guitars which Fender made. Same concept but with flame tops. The Tele's with a Seymour Duncan dual rail in the bridge screamed and sounded great. I sold mine to get a gibson blues hawk.
I have a pink paisley P bass... Its a 90's reissue CIJ model. I believe the series I have uses a gold leaf base with a acetate like paisley screen over the gold. It has a subtle metallic pink burst. I wouldn't part with mine.
The Paisley "teardrop" pattern originates from Persian shawls made of cashmere. These found there way to Paisley, Scotland, where the pattern was duplicated in wool throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. The '60s psychedelic movement adopted the pattern.
I HAVE A JAPANESE PINK PAISLEY LEFTY, IT WAS MADE IN THE 2000'S...BUT, THATS OK...I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT...STILL LOOKING FOR THE BLUE FLOWER, BUT NOT IN A THINLINE
Are you sure that the paisleys were clear coated with lacquer? This was about when Fender brought out their Thick Skin finish, which was a thick poly finish. The Thick Skin damped the vibrations of the body, making the guitars less resonant and less responsive. This was one of the factors that drove up the value of pre-CBS Fenders. My '68 Tele was originally a Paisley; big chunks of the finish and paisley paper were gone.
I've always had a soft spot for the pink Paisley , no particular reason, just like them I used to have one of the 80s reissues but the finish n wallpaper just started checking too bad ,it sounded amazing though
Love Paisleys. Picked up one of the new pink Paisley MIJ Jazzmasters last month. Love the look & feel but sent it back because the pickups were the noisest POS I've ever played.
The best 'reissues' of these were made by Tokai in the early/mid 80's - they play, look and smell more like the originals than any subsequent fender :)
I’m a huge Elvis nut ant that in turn makes me a huge JB nut. He also played with Merle Haggard in his records. JB tells a story where he walked into the studio with the paisley and Merle said “where’s ol red?”(James’ most used tele before the paisley) JB said he’d love the sound of this. Just wait. Hag said “I think I like ol red better”… then James played it. Hag told him to never bring ol red back. Love that little story and thought I’d share it. 😃
Well I would rock a pink paisley telecaster. Since I just traded a fender jim root telecaster for a pink paisley reissue. I mainly did the deal because they were worth pretty close to the same. And I feel that the reissue will go up in value overtime whereas the jim root I don't think it really will.
Never did like those colors, and it stands out even more in the Paisley and flower print. I found the black/rootbeer model from Harley Benton much more desirable for my taste so I got one! Not only does it look better than those, it sounds great for a cheap copy made overseas.
GoggleFoggleFace! Productions. “Pay” as in picking up girls? Probably not, you’re probably only going to end up picking up guitar nerds (if you’re into that)
it's funny how you think something like paisley is a super common term that most people would know but it ends up requiring an explanation. i wouldn't have thought of wallpaper myself though, so there you go, only ever seen it on clothing.
Not nitro as in 1968 they switched to polyurethane. The strat cannot be a 1969 as the bullet truss rods adjustment was not introduced until 1972. Plz correct me if I am wrong

I've always though the blues were cool and hated the pink - but now that I've done some more research, I've warmed up to both colors! Elivis' guys had some cool guitars!
Would it be too much to get a 22 frets neck on that tele from Fender seem like every custom shop guitar has only 21 frets
I had a 1985 reissued pink paisley tele and I wish I had it back, so hell yeah, I'd rock the pink one just because I love Brad Paisley and James Burton.
I rock the pink all night long!!!
Nice one Trogly, perfect to play any psychedelic song!!!
Always wanted the Blue Flower Tele . I was a teenager when the Japanese reissue came out . If the Mexico factory did one , I might eventually buy one 😁👍🎸
Hello trogly ! french viewer here ! I'm actually rocking the blue flower one since 2015, really a great guitar, unique feel about playing it :)

Found a pink one on reverb for $800. It has upgraded pickups, pots, cloth wiring, reversed control plate, and gotoh bridge. Hell of a deal 🤘
I fell in love at first sight with one of these, about 13 years ago or so, and acquired one swiftly!!! It's one of the Japanese made, '69 reissues, made in the mid-90's... Despite pink being a traditionally feminine color, I would rock the pink one-primarily because when aged, the resulting gold would look amazing!
Technically? Pink being "feminine" is *maybe* a century old, if that... it used to be seen as a "strong masculine" color.
egmccann And? 🤷🏾♀️
Almost got one of these in the telecaster bass. Kinda kicking myself for not getting it.
Not just yes, but HELL YES! Pink, blue, I'm not picky..
In 1969 I bought an Olympic White Telecaster with a Bigsby. They had a pink paisley model at the store at the time but it was too rich for my blood. I now kick myself that I didn’t purchase it. Dude Brad Paisley is the reason I got a tele as my first electric guitar
Brad paisley !!!!! Im a rocker but hell ya to country
Yeah, some of the country guys, Brad especially, don't get enough credit as a guitar player
Wesley Zimmerman well said man I’ve always loved his music growing up all I listened to was country and a little classic rock like AC/DC but noticed there guitar skills were overlooked by people he’s one of my favorite guitarists to this day just so much feel in his music

Picking up a mint reissue TL69 MIJ Pink Paisley today! Can’t wait to plug it into the studio!!
Pink paisley telecaster is THE one!,,,,l❤ Jim has one too! 😊🎉
omg i understand now... one of my friend bought a jazzmaster Paisley for his newborn girl that he called Paisley (he bought it a few months after) it sounds amazing. the pickgard though is not clear but actually purple
racinator I hope he bought the guitar for himself. Not sure how much use a newborn can get out of a guitar.
Zjaycee10 well he said he was going to give it to her when shes old enough
I would go for the blue and the bass to I would definitely be paying tribute to Dusty hill with that Bass guitar
Great video (as usual) but.... I wish you would have shown my favorite version of James Burton's signature tele. The early ones were black with gold paisley across the entire body. I bought one about 14 years ago. It's beautiful!

Saw James burton live with a paisley and man him and Tun Tuttle were the shit . The tone on those 70s gigs is like no one else. Talk about quack.
I like the pink design and blue color lol. I think being able to see the original colors under the clear pickguard is cool.
Bought me a 1985/1986 Pink Paisley MIJ a month ago. Great guitar, the best Tele I got, I prefer it over my 1969 Tele. Really!
Pink looks awesome. I have been saving for a japanese reissue of these for quite some time.
I would rock almost any tele, these included! ❤️
I love Telecasters, but I don't know if I could gig with a pink guitar. To have one as a collectable would be awesome. I'd prefer the black or flame paisley, though to play on stage.👍😎🎸🎶
This video answered my question perfectly. 👌🏼
I'd absolutely rock one, definitely in the pink version with the actual Paisley pattern, especially if it's aged to that gold color. Fender Japan are currently producing pink paisley and blue flower Jazzmasters. Thought that might be interesting, too.

The „gold“ looks nice!
Ive been wanting one for a loooong time
You should do a collection of your guitars, amps Bass, etc. That'll be soooo fun to watch ( anyways love your videos )
I would’ve snapped fenders hand off if they offered me a pink paisley tele, I’ve always wanted one, they’re my all time favourite guitar.
The Tele is the ONLY Fender I would rock. Love the black paisley the most.
Donovan Forsythe, I've got one and it's a great guitar! I upgraded to a Wilkinson compensated brass saddle bridge, Fender Custom Shop Texas Specials, and a Rock Rabbit angled control plate. Totally awesome and tone to boot!
“The prettiest” I don’t get why people seriously LOVE the look of these guitars. To each their own but people are SERIOUSLY passionate about these.
Definitely the pink paisley I like how it turns to the gold color then the blue turning green.
I got a blue floral reissue in 2017 love it.
I would love to play a pink Paisley telly baby I'm just about to put my order in for a 68 reissue pretty pricey though but it's more of a collector and an investment
Love your show thumbs up from Australia 👍🇭🇲👍🙏

I had a fsr Black paisley a few years back. Had to sell it to make rent but it was a damn good guitar
I have a pink paisley P bass... Its a 90's reissue CIJ model.

Great short documentary!!

I HAVE A JAPANESE PINK PAISLEY LEFTY, IT WAS MADE IN THE 2000'S...BUT, THATS OK...I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT...STILL LOOKING FOR THE BLUE FLOWER, BUT NOT IN A THINLINE
I really like the aged pink/gold look. One on Reverb right now that almost looks like a gold top.
I’m a huge brad paisley fan so pink
Pink Paisley Tele is one of my fav. Guitars so he'll ya I'd rock it!
James Burton also played with Rick Nelson, and was one of the first cats to use a plain G string.

Kinda late to the party, but hell yes, I would. In fact, I've built a pink paisley partscaster.
Not but it was an excellent video, very interesting history.
Would totally rock either, but pink would be my favourite
The best 'reissues' of these were made by Tokai in the early/mid 80's - they play, look and smell more like the originals than any subsequent fender :)
Rock. In a heartbeat and both models!
They currently have this finish reissued on the MIJ Jazzmasters.
I would rock a blue one
You should do a video on that 68 Strat pink paisley. That would be a great discussion
Got the Pink RI 2017, Tokai Black Paisley and Blue Flower, so I’m all set...
I remember staring at the blue flower strat in the Musician's Friend catalog sometime in the mid to late 90s. Someday. (Sigh)
I’m a huge Elvis nut ant that in turn makes me a huge JB nut. He also played with Merle Haggard in his records. And I feel that the reissue will go up in value overtime whereas the jim root I don't think it really will.
Love my 2016 Pink Paisley Japanese Tele, wish they had a matching headstock though
Yeah. That's not my favorite option. Lmao Great video. And love the facts.
Never did like those colors, and it stands out even more in the Paisley and flower print. I found the black/rootbeer model from Harley Benton much more desirable for my taste so I got one! Not only does it look better than those, it sounds great for a cheap copy made overseas.
would definitely rock. only reason i dont is because of the price haha
I'd rock the hell out of a pink one
I like this guitar very much I always have and I've been playing for close to 40 years. I would prefer if it would had and had F- holes inside
Own a Pink Tele now she's staying right here.
I'm a tele guy, so i like any kind. would rock and want to rock one.
the new MIJ paisley / blue flower JAZZMASTERS are pretty cool for 1000.00
I'd rock a blue one.it would turn green and that's my favorite
I like the blue one. These guitars just have a colour scheme. It's a Telecaster like any Telecaster no matter what colour it is.
Peace ✌️ out
Does it PAY to have this much good looks
GoggleFoggleFace! Productions. “Pay” as in picking up girls? Probably not, you’re probably only going to end up picking up guitar nerds (if you’re into that)
@@Zjayc777. That's mean 🤣🤣🤣
Yep I had a brand new pink paisley stolen brand new unplayed I was told a 97 reissue of a 67' it sounded like zeplin 1 through the marshall.
it's funny how you think something like paisley is a super common term that most people would know but it ends up requiring an explanation. i wouldn't have thought of wallpaper myself though, so there you go, only ever seen it on clothing.
I'd rock a pink Paisley
I love the paisley finishes, but I’ve always hated the way they did the pickguards on them.
I used to have one of the Pink Japanese reissue ones
All Fenders made in 80's through early 90's are all good and affordable.
I'd take the faded pink one that's gone golden.
And before the video gets real deep ya it’s his it’s on the cover of his mud on the tires album I think the one with whisky lullaby in it
Guess I was wrong lol
I'm digging the nu mij paisley Jazzmasters
I would rock one, and actually really do rock one because I own a Blue Flower reissue. I think it's a 2008.
I always loved the pink Paisley tele, don't know why, just do.
Absolutely!
Always found them cringeworthy to look at, but yes I would certainly be happy to own one.
I want the jazzmaster reissue
If I had 15k to spend on a guitar, I would be the proud owner of an original pink paisley tele
One of each please 🤘😎
Not nitro as in 1968 they switched to polyurethane. The strat cannot be a 1969 as the bullet truss rods adjustment was not introduced until 1972. Plz correct me if I am wrong
Blue, but I'd purposely age it to green.
i have Bill Crook paisley Tele, that is the amazing guitar when i was try. is better than the fender customshop made.
