I have the same issue down here. I am going to wait until it cools down a bit more usually the beginning of December. That way we have consistent cool weather.
I build my own cages. I did a whole cage build series on my channel. If you are looking to buy cages check out Cam Trip cage traps. They are excellent.
Sorry to hear about your Turkeys. That sucks, but glad to hear that you caught the culprits and that it helped cover the cost of feeding all the chickens.
Most of the time when I catch coyotes in my sets its with bait. Like Trapper Js all predator bait. Great stuff. Getting a coyote to commit to a cage is tough.
@@OutdoorMike I build my own also. I wanted to know how your trigger/cam mechanism worked. I can't see it well. Looks like 3 pivet points. Do you have a close up shot of it?
@@OutdoorMike I just watched them. Great job. Hope you have a great season. I will be watching for your videos. I always have a cage trap set in my yard 24/7 365 days a year. Plus we trap during the season. We don't have a bobcat population that can be trapped. Not even a season for them. Stay Safe !!
Absolutely love it, great idea putting the piece of roofing in there. Gotta ya subbed and watchin em all.
Thank you! Glad you are enjoying the content.
Great video.
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
I'm in the Phoenix area and this is my first year trapping. When do you start putting your traps out? It seems a little bit warm still.

@@OutdoorMike Thanks for the quick reply! Good luck this season. Using your videos, I'm going to add to my purchased traps by building my own.

FYI Asa Lennon no longer makes his bait. He sold out some time ago.
I bought some last season.

Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!
Great content! Do you’ll make your own cage traps? If not, which brand do you use?
Hi Cody, Yes I buid my own cages. I am planning on doing a cage build video later this year. Thanks for watching.
@@OutdoorMike I would love to see a cage building video.
@@TheArizonaSportsman That is the plan. Going to do a couple. One for a bobcat size cage and then going to do a build for a coyote sized cage.
took two big males last fall that had killed all my bourbon red turkies. Sold em to taxidermists for good money that paid for a lot of chicken feed.

You use roofing material. Is it a shingle or tar paper, what ?
Shingle
What would you do different if you were to trap coyotes?

Bro nice work
Thank you. Thanks for watching!
What make cages are you using??
I build my own cages to help keep cost down. But the if you are going to purchase cages CamTrip cages are the best ones to get.

I actually have a 3 part build series that I made it covers the entire build process.
