I am mosaic, and it only makes since to me that if one of my eggs that are not genetically "correct" were to get fertilized, and i were to have a girl, that it would have Turner's. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who has this thought process. Thanks for the insight!! Btw, I love your videos! It's nice to hear someone with Turner's out there giving us a voice!
That seems to be close to the general thought. Awh thanks!! I'm so glad you like them!!
Very interesting topic ,I've never thought of that .I have to agree with you I think it would be a 50/50 chance .And definitely agree we need more resources and research done .
Yes!
Wow Wow first time seeing your channel love your videos these same thought come through my mind I am so thankful for your channel I was diagnosed with turner syndrome at Birth and now trying to have a baby wanting to know more about it and how I can have my first child
Awh thanks!!! So glad you like them :)
omg loved this video! such insight! made me think for sure...and for some reason..a little emotional...😊
Thanks!! Definitely an emotional thing for me too
Very interesting. While I am certainly no geneticist, the two sex chromosomes a baby gets are one from the mother, one from the father. That being said, I think a TS woman should have a chance of giving the one X she has to be paired with the X or Y from the father resulting in a typical baby (XX or XY). The other scenario is for the TS woman to give nothing (her missing X). In that case, the father could give an X resulting in a TS girl (XO), or a Y (OY). A baby with a Y but no X would not be a viable conception as at least one complete X is necessary for life. I won't even try to go into the possibilities in a case of mosaic TS. All this is assuming that a TS woman's eggs would have the same genetic makeup as the rest of her body's cells too. I hope this makes sense and ultimately only God is in control and holds life in His hands and I don't think anyone can fully understand all the ways of how genetics works. Yes more research should be done in this area.
Well said! My understanding is the same- since an egg or sperm cell only contains half the normal number of chromosomes (23) only one of those would be a sex chromosome (X or perhaps a missing/damaged X if the egg from a woman with Turners contains that chromosome). But this is all only in theory- who knows what technology will offer in the future.
Great points and info!!!!! Thank you for sharing. Absolutely who knows what options there will be in the future!
I know with me my eggs are under developed. It is a very good question though.
Yes, I don't know mines development but I know I have low reserve
