We need the lego Eclipse II. There were two of them. Also, the engines on this one is actually the Eclipse II Engine Block. The First Eclipse has only a few engines. It's still stunning work.
Agreed but I’m afraid of what Lego would charge for it and knowing them, they’d hose us on mini-figs. Yeah this build is a hybrid between Eclipse I & II and it’s absolutely stunning. Honestly for these prices I can see kids being able to get them for a birthday or something...I just gave $228 for mine with $12 shipping. In Lego those would be like $2000 which is NOT just a birthday gift lol....Mould King makes things like this possible for kids to have and play with which to me makes them better than Lego.
@@Kolonol1 completely agree with you. For a long time I have been hoping that the knockoff lego brands would put pressure on lego and force them to lower their prices. But it doesnt seem to happen. I remember getting the Lego UCS At-st when it came out. I believe it was 80 dollars, was a lot of pieces for that price and was very enjoyable. Now its like you cant get any of the lego ucs for under 200 and the bigger sets are at least 500 dollars
@@JJ_5289 Lego could have made things like the Eclipse....I paid $400 for my eclipse. I went out of my way to search it out and get it. It was always my favorite of the big shops and since Disney got rid of it Lego never did it. Sets like that and the sand crawler ...if Lego was affordable they could really corner the market again I believe. That and a little bit of quality control lol
@@Kolonol1 definitely. I've heard people say that lego prices have gotten crazy because of the star wars/disney licenses, but I dont know. heres an example. I bought the lego ucs Slave 1 when it came out for $200. I thought that was a great model and a fair price for what you got. Now the new ucs x wing has slightly less pieces, for $40 more. and Ive heard mixed reviews on it. I dont think that "inflation" and the licensing makes sense for that much of an increase in price over less than 10 years
Sith Bricks, this was an enjoyable review! I've been looking for MOC Eclipse builds for awhile now and came across the MouldKing model just the other day. Without a doubt, this is my favorite star destroyer/dreadnaught (and has been ever since I read Dark Empire 1&2 and Empire's End). I have to say that I was tentative BUT after watching your stellar vid, I am definitely ready to pull the trigger and purchase this! Thank you for sharing 🙂

I even bought the instructions directly from Jorstad designs, and spent a few nights going over them. I see you recently built the 75252 Devastator. In the past few months, I color corrected it, added a custom minifigure interior to it, then recently tiled the outer surface. I have videos on my channel of these changes if you’re interested in checking them out. Project overall took 4 to 5 months, and a ton of cash. All totally worth it, though. Dang… that Executor looks sweet, too 👍🤣💵

Thanks!!! If you’ve never built Mould king before I would recommend starting with the Executor or TIE Bomber. The Eclipse is a difficult build and I recommend doing at least 1 other Mould king set before going after the Eclipse
I just ordered one 2 days ago I've been trying to find one that was actually in stock for a long time... If I find another one for a good price I may go ahead and get it and then modify them both so I have eclipse 1 and 2
Instead of rubber bands for the front part, the eclipse did have a ragilator toward the nose for the superlaser so you could use hinge pieces to hold it together.
Is there a way to close that gap in the middle? I love the Eclipse but I’ve just finished the Lego Venator cruiser set and that has little to no gap in the middle and I think that’s raised my standards for star destroyer sets lol. Is there any way to either significantly lessen or fully close that gap?
There’s a possible way but I haven’t worked it yet. I got the idea when building Monarch and once o get my room back in late March, I’m going to try and implement it
It’s scary for sure, I mean I spent $300 the day after Christmas on a Chinese website buying knock off items. I was 80% sure my money was gone but I decided the risk was worth the potential reward. I was right, if you’re having hesitations here’s what I recommend; Buy sets using AliExpress and use PayPal to checkout. It’s a reputable website (chinas Amazon) and using PayPal gives you buyers protection. If you don’t have access to PayPal and you have a credit card, contact the issuer and see if they have fraud protection for international purchases. It’s scary but you can do it!!
I was skeptical, but having owned mega bloks (older pro builder series), plenty of lego, and now the mould king SSD I can say that the quality of bricks is way closer to Lego quality than mega bloks (I'd say it's a close 9/10).
You can buy Mould King and other brands on Amazon and there are US stores that sell alternate brick sets as well. And these are not fake they are just competitors to Lego brand at a cheaper price.
@@typhaeon7959 i would consider them making fake legos because companies like LEPIN generally take designs from MOC makers and mass produce them without any recognition, the sets i would call competitors would be like mega bloks and COBI there are a couple others as well, theyre great because they actually design and manufacture their own sets instead of lifting them from creators.
It’s never too late!!! I buy my sets off AliExpress and if you use this route, be sure to use a major credit card or PayPal, that way you get buyers protection. Granted, I bought them four things from AliExpress and never had any issues, but it’s a Chinese website and you have to play it safe with your personal information and financial data.
Personally would love to see a Mould King set of the Merciless from the empire at war FOC expansion. AKA Tyber Zhans flagship. If I had the funds I'd be more than willing to build the prototype. Can't have the eclipse without the Merciless and ISD Chimeara.

Sith, whats your opinion on breaking down the Eclipse? how to sort the pieces? i can tell you, my wife will not let me display the Eclipse for ever on the dining table 😁😁. Don't know yet if i should sort by all parts separate, or looking backwards in the instruction books and sort the parts by bag as they've come. ?
I always sort the bags one at a time on the day of the build, keeps the chaos to a minimum. In my box each bag was labeled (32 build bags and 2 bags with other parts (covers, engine pieces and weights for the stands). A couple of bags have well over 500 pieces in them so it would be folly to dump it all and sort. I kept my eclipse on the kitchen island for 45 days, wife wasn’t happy but it was either there or the table🤣🤣🤣
@@sithbricks_66 So, as read correctly, you're advise is when tearing down (disassemble) the eclipse, it’s better to sort the bricks in the bags as they had come originally., and not to sort the bricks by type (then i will have to need a few hundred bags).
This is my first time on your channel, I was wondering if you had gotten the newer style executor or imperial star destroyer yet and what your opinion is on them because those are what Im looking at next
How do you manage to get the bottom panels to stay together? I try to make them as tight as I can, but the structure just weakens and collapses as I finish it, very frustrating, and what’s worse is that I did it, so it’s possible, but it slid off and fell as I was working on the interior, that was a very frustrating moment, and I’ve tried using the hammer, doesn’t seem to do the trick but maybe I’m not doing it right, any advice?
Kragle Due to the weight and size the bottom plates will eventually get loose. Double check the fitment to make sure and if they won’t hold, Kragle them in to place. I’ve done this with the Venator, Monarch and Eclipse.

@Sith Bricks I assembled the Eclipse and it looks great, but there is a large hole between the top plate and the side (looking at the ship from the side). I don't know if it's a matter of unevenness of larger elements, or if I just assembled something wrong. Where did you buy Devastator? I want to expand my collection :)
If there’s a hole there it’s probably not seated properly…sometimes you have to shiny those things into place. Devastator was a birthday gift back when I bought Lego, Monarch is the way to go now.
@@sithbricks_66 I'm currently thinking about Monarch and Executor, both of which are cool, but I would like to make any kind of interior in these sets, you have both, can you advise which set would be easier to improve the interior without any special blocks?
@@misza5586 due to the weight of monarch it’s not recommended at all to attempt an interior and the executor isn’t tall enough to accommodate an interior. I messed around with the idea earlier this year but couldn’t make it work

@@bcmm1880 ugh. If you can build around it then go for it, who knows it might be in later bag. Most of the MK sellers are pretty responsive on getting replacement parts out, message the seller and let them know. I had to get covers for my TIE Bomber and the seller sent me about 50 (I only needed 8)
I have done the Venator along with what you see here and I have to say the Venator is the bottom of the list. It’s a tough build that’s kinda clunky but it makes sense since it was one of MK’s first design ports and you can see the quality improve with Executor, Monarch and Eclipse. Here’s my ranking; 1. Eclipse 2. Monarch 3. Executor 4. Venator 5. TIE Bomber

The Eclipse Class come from the Legends side of Star Wars. 10 years after the battle of Endor a clone of Palpatine rises up to take command of the Empire/Eclipse in an attempt to restore him and the Sith to their former glory. There’s some books and comics that cover it more in depth but that’s the cliff notes
@@sithbricks_66 God be with me. The bricks are definitely not lego quality.. which is why I think they give the hammer.. but they are also harder to take apart.. so when moving it, it might be a more stable build than the UCS ISD. Thank you!
@@benrici I actually like that the bricks for snug and are harder to take apart, on a warship of this size you need snug fits due to the massive weight. It’s hard now but it’ll payoff in the end, don’t be afraid to use a pair of pliers to help separate the bricks (use a paper towel to help prevent scratches)
@@sithbricks_66 I was telling my wife the same thing. When we have to move it, the snug portion of it is going to be a ton better. Going to bag four today... so far so good! I try to watch your vids before I start a bag for tips haha.

i got this thing. However what i find tremendously annoying during building process is the point that moldking stones are very good fitting together (but need the MVP to hammer them together) But here comes the thing: Building this ship is mostly about building certain modules which then get put onto it so essentially putting multiple modules together. The big problem with this is that you cant use the MVP to put them together this way. and when building the first bottom interior section there is not enough support to put force on the other side on the structure to make the module fit into place with all bricks. So what i have to do 80% of the time is disassembling the modules and building them again into the position of the ship brick by brick instead. It costs so much time to do that... hated this a lot. also putting the 2 bottom sides together with the core structure is one very big pain in the ass. i had it put together but later on i realized that one of the parts got lose and now i had this piece laying around under the core structure and no way to reach it yet assembling it again to where it was supposed to be... This is my first BIG build i do and my first set from mould king. So maybe its just me being the absolute potato. But there are moments where i did not have fun building this thing at all. As of right now i am at bag 23 and in the process of disassembling the bottom interior to build it into place manually as i am not able to make all the bricks fit where there are supposed to...
You’re spot on with your assessment. I had my potato moments too, from wanting to throw it against the wall to pure elation at making some serious BS work. Good job on getting it done, all the other sets should come easy to you now except the Venator, that’s a tough one.
I buy my sets off AliExpress (Chinese Amazon). If you do buy it from there make sure to use PayPal for buyer protections. You can find it on Amazon too just make sure to shop around for the best price…it’s usually around $450-$475USD

What’s the prevalence of missing pieces in relation to overall piece accountability? I’d love to get into Mould King, but even for the rather interesting price point; I’d hate to be out a piece...or several; and have to rely on BL or the singular LEGO shop in my area.
I’ve built 4 sets so far and I was only missing 7 2x2 black covers on the TIE Bomber. I messaged the seller (through Walmart where I bought it) and got the missing pieces in about a week. In the other three sets I had plenty of extras and I’ve already got a lot of extras on Monarch (current build) and I’m not even a quarter of the way done. I’ve also provided pieces to other MK builders and even had a fellow builder send me a piece. I think I’ve built a good community here and we’d be glad to help if it even comes to that.

As far as purchasing goes, would it be better to buy off the MK site, or stick to Walmart or Target? While I could maybe justify the better price, ordering from overseas does seem kinda sketch 😂 It’s awesome to see so many come together to help out, lots of the time new entrants to the community (as far as LEGO goes) are kinda forced to fend for themselves. @@Dank-gb6jn always here to help!! Buy where the price is the best. I’ve bought sets from AliExpress, Walmart and Amazon. Shop around and take your time as prices will change daily. If you do buy off AliExpress make sure you use a major credit card or PayPal. Both offer buyers protection in the rare instance where the sale goes bad (AliExpress is Chinese Amazon). Also if on AliExpress search for sellers that ship from the US, you can get your sets significantly faster. Lastly, I’ve bought 2 sets from there and had zero issues but I always advise caution.

They all look similar, and have an MK box; but the title discrepancy threw me. What experience might you have with that?

The eclipse was designed and intended for Palpatine to extend his reach beyond the home galaxy. palpatine wanted to conquer the home galaxy and use these ships to conquer other galaxies. He intended to doscover full imortality and probably would have been successful if not for R2-D2.

For $300 this is a steal since I don't wanna pay $1,200 for the real use set. Can I use clones? Building a clone army with vehicles and ships sets. Can use Andor, some Mandolorian, Clone.Wars, Rogue One, Bad Batch, Episode II/III. Oh and Rebels. So with that many sub themes I can have the dream clone army :D
And that’s why MK is the best for cost values!! In theory you could fill it with clones since this set does take place after Return of the Jedi however if you wanted to make it canonically correct you’d use Imperials (which is what I’m using when it comes time)

@@dach829 ahhhh ok I see what you mean. I think there’s a metal model out there but it’s small compared the this warship. You can clean up the brick studs by purchasing extra covers but that’s about it
I also got this set, its hanging down my ceiling. For the gaps i used black rubber bands to close them (but mine were smaller than yours). Actual Mould King stole the instructions from Jorstad-designs, its nearly a 1:1 copy, but Mould King changed some little things and some stuff is missing. Unfortunately both instructions have some errors and the construction overall can be optimized (what i will do when i got time). The engines can be easily modded with some extra pieces and maybe a lighting kit from china or so. Also this i neither a Eclipse I or II, its something between it (see the creators notes on their site). The Executor you have there is also stolen by Mould King, the original creator is Onecase. Another note, Mould King uses mostly GoBricks (a Chinese manufacture) for its sets, the best Chinese bricks atm. And its not Lego, they would sue you for this statement, when you were a bigger UA-camr 😂

Instead of rubber bands for the front part, the eclipse did have a ragilator toward the nose for the superlaser so you could use hinge pieces to hold it together.

Is there a way to close that gap in the middle? I love the Eclipse but I’ve just finished the Lego Venator cruiser set and that has little to no gap in the middle and I think that’s raised my standards for star destroyer sets lol. Is there any way to either significantly lessen or fully close that gap?
There’s a possible way but I haven’t worked it yet. I got the idea when building Monarch and once o get my room back in late March, I’m going to try and implement it

It’s scary for sure, I mean I spent $300 the day after Christmas on a Chinese website buying knock off items. I was 80% sure my money was gone but I decided the risk was worth the potential reward.
I was right, if you’re having hesitations here’s what I recommend;
Buy sets using AliExpress and use PayPal to checkout. It’s a reputable website (chinas Amazon) and using PayPal gives you buyers protection.
If you don’t have access to PayPal and you have a credit card, contact the issuer and see if they have fraud protection for international purchases.
It’s scary but you can do it!!
I was skeptical, but having owned mega bloks (older pro builder series), plenty of lego, and now the mould king SSD I can say that the quality of bricks is way closer to Lego quality than mega bloks (I'd say it's a close 9/10).
You can buy Mould King and other brands on Amazon and there are US stores that sell alternate brick sets as well. And these are not fake they are just competitors to Lego brand at a cheaper price.
@@typhaeon7959 i would consider them making fake legos because companies like LEPIN generally take designs from MOC makers and mass produce them without any recognition, the sets i would call competitors would be like mega bloks and COBI there are a couple others as well, theyre great because they actually design and manufacture their own sets instead of lifting them from creators.

It’s never too late!!! I buy my sets off AliExpress and if you use this route, be sure to use a major credit card or PayPal, that way you get buyers protection.
Granted, I bought them four things from AliExpress and never had any issues, but it’s a Chinese website and you have to play it safe with your personal information and financial data.
Personally would love to see a Mould King set of the Merciless from the empire at war FOC expansion. AKA Tyber Zhans flagship. If I had the funds I'd be more than willing to build the prototype. Can't have the eclipse without the Merciless and ISD Chimeara.

Sith, whats your opinion on breaking down the Eclipse? how to sort the pieces? i can tell you, my wife will not let me display the Eclipse for ever on the dining table 😁😁. Don't know yet if i should sort by all parts separate, or looking backwards in the instruction books and sort the parts by bag as they've come. ?
I always sort the bags one at a time on the day of the build, keeps the chaos to a minimum. In my box each bag was labeled (32 build bags and 2 bags with other parts (covers, engine pieces and weights for the stands).
A couple of bags have well over 500 pieces in them so it would be folly to dump it all and sort.
I kept my eclipse on the kitchen island for 45 days, wife wasn’t happy but it was either there or the table🤣🤣🤣
@@sithbricks_66 So, as read correctly, you're advise is when tearing down (disassemble) the eclipse, it’s better to sort the bricks in the bags as they had come originally., and not to sort the bricks by type (then i will have to need a few hundred bags).
@@TwistedSam yes, work backwards and break it down that way. This way you can number the bags as you like it to make reassembly easier

How do you manage to get the bottom panels to stay together? I try to make them as tight as I can, but the structure just weakens and collapses as I finish it, very frustrating, and what’s worse is that I did it, so it’s possible, but it slid off and fell as I was working on the interior, that was a very frustrating moment, and I’ve tried using the hammer, doesn’t seem to do the trick but maybe I’m not doing it right, any advice?

Due to the weight and size the bottom plates will eventually get loose.
Double check the fitment to make sure and if they won’t hold, Kragle them in to place.
I’ve done this with the Venator, Monarch and Eclipse.

@Sith Bricks I assembled the Eclipse and it looks great, but there is a large hole between the top plate and the side (looking at the ship from the side). I don't know if it's a matter of unevenness of larger elements, or if I just assembled something wrong. Where did you buy Devastator? I want to expand my collection :)
If there’s a hole there it’s probably not seated properly…sometimes you have to shiny those things into place.
Devastator was a birthday gift back when I bought Lego, Monarch is the way to go now.

@@misza5586 due to the weight of monarch it’s not recommended at all to attempt an interior and the executor isn’t tall enough to accommodate an interior.

Got mine, at the first bag I’m missing half of the hinge pieces, not sure if they’re hidden in a bag or something, but until I can get them I’m stuck
Hmmmm. Mine had several accessory bags that weren’t numbered. Did you get those? If not try looking in bag 2, sometimes those pieces are misallocated

Most of the MK sellers are pretty responsive on getting replacement parts out, message the seller and let them know.
I had to get covers for my TIE Bomber and the seller sent me about 50 (I only needed 8)
How do you feel all of these stack up (pun intended) stack up next to the Venator?
I have done the Venator along with what you see here and I have to say the Venator is the bottom of the list. It’s a tough build that’s kinda clunky but it makes sense since it was one of MK’s first design ports and you can see the quality improve with Executor, Monarch and Eclipse.
Here’s my ranking;
1. Eclipse
2. Monarch
3. Executor
4. Venator
5. TIE Bomber

The Eclipse Class come from the Legends side of Star Wars. 10 years after the battle of Endor a clone of Palpatine rises up to take command of the Empire/Eclipse in an attempt to restore him and the Sith to their former glory.

Very slowly, make sure to put your hands under the keel and don’t try to lobster claw it from the top
@@sithbricks_66 God be with me. The bricks are definitely not lego quality.. which is why I think they give the hammer.. but they are also harder to take apart.. so when moving it, it might be a more stable build than the UCS ISD. Thank you!
@@benrici I actually like that the bricks for snug and are harder to take apart, on a warship of this size you need snug fits due to the massive weight. It’s hard now but it’ll payoff in the end, don’t be afraid to use a pair of pliers to help separate the bricks (use a paper towel to help prevent scratches)

i got this thing.
However what i find tremendously annoying during building process is the point that moldking stones are very good fitting together (but need the MVP to hammer them together)
But here comes the thing:
Building this ship is mostly about building certain modules which then get put onto it so essentially putting multiple modules together.
The big problem with this is that you cant use the MVP to put them together this way. and when building the first bottom interior section there is not enough support to put force on the other side on the structure to make the module fit into place with all bricks.
So what i have to do 80% of the time is disassembling the modules and building them again into the position of the ship brick by brick instead. It costs so much time to do that... hated this a lot.
also putting the 2 bottom sides together with the core structure is one very big pain in the ass.
i had it put together but later on i realized that one of the parts got lose and now i had this piece laying around under the core structure and no way to reach it yet assembling it again to where it was supposed to be...
This is my first BIG build i do and my first set from mould king. So maybe its just me being the absolute potato. But there are moments where i did not have fun building this thing at all. As of right now i am at bag 23 and in the process of disassembling the bottom interior to build it into place manually as i am not able to make all the bricks fit where there are supposed to...

I had my potato moments too, from wanting to throw it against the wall to pure elation at making some serious BS work.
Good job on getting it done, all the other sets should come easy to you now except the Venator, that’s a tough one.

What’s the prevalence of missing pieces in relation to overall piece accountability? I’d love to get into Mould King, but even for the rather interesting price point; I’d hate to be out a piece...or several; and have to rely on BL or the singular LEGO shop in my area.
I’ve built 4 sets so far and I was only missing 7 2x2 black covers on the TIE Bomber. I messaged the seller (through Walmart where I bought it) and got the missing pieces in about a week.
In the other three sets I had plenty of extras and I’ve already got a lot of extras on Monarch (current build) and I’m not even a quarter of the way done.
I’ve also provided pieces to other MK builders and even had a fellow builder send me a piece. I think I’ve built a good community here and we’d be glad to help if it even comes to that.

As far as purchasing goes, would it be better to buy off the MK site, or stick to Walmart or Target? While I could maybe justify the better price, ordering from overseas does seem kinda sketch 😂

Buy where the price is the best. I’ve bought sets from AliExpress, Walmart and Amazon.
Shop around and take your time as prices will change daily.
If you do buy off AliExpress make sure you use a major credit card or PayPal. Both offer buyers protection in the rare instance where the sale goes bad (AliExpress is Chinese Amazon). Also if on AliExpress search for sellers that ship from the US, you can get your sets significantly faster.
Lastly, I’ve bought 2 sets from there and had zero issues but I always advise caution.

Also: I’ve come across some sets on Walmart’s site, such as the Tantive IV, and have noticed that each listing has a slightly different title. They all look similar, and have an MK box; but the title discrepancy threw me. What experience might you have with that?

The eclipse was designed and intended for Palpatine to extend his reach beyond the home galaxy. palpatine wanted to conquer the home galaxy and use these ships to conquer other galaxies. He intended to doscover full imortality and probably would have been successful if not for R2-D2.

Building a clone army with vehicles and ships sets. Can use Andor, some Mandolorian, Clone.Wars, Rogue One, Bad Batch, Episode II/III. Oh and Rebels. So with that many sub themes I can have the dream clone army :D
And that’s why MK is the best for cost values!!
In theory you could fill it with clones since this set does take place after Return of the Jedi however if you wanted to make it canonically correct you’d use Imperials (which is what I’m using when it comes time)

great video but your conversion from imperial to metric is VERYYYY wrong ;D
I also got this set, its hanging down my ceiling. For the gaps i used black rubber bands to close them (but mine were smaller than yours).
Actual Mould King stole the instructions from Jorstad-designs, its nearly a 1:1 copy, but Mould King changed some little things and some stuff is missing.
Unfortunately both instructions have some errors and the construction overall can be optimized (what i will do when i got time).
The engines can be easily modded with some extra pieces and maybe a lighting kit from china or so.
Also this i neither a Eclipse I or II, its something between it (see the creators notes on their site).
The Executor you have there is also stolen by Mould King, the original creator is Onecase.
Another note, Mould King uses mostly GoBricks (a Chinese manufacture) for its sets, the best Chinese bricks atm.
And its not Lego, they would sue you for this statement, when you were a bigger UA-camr 😂
