For any intubation attempt pre-oxygenation is crucial as this may prevent death and morbidity secondary to hypoxic event during intubation attempt (Peri-Intubation).

What's your opinion about absorption atelectasis during PrOX??

In emergency setting (ER or Prehospital EMS) if you don't pre-ox a sick patient and commence with intubation with poor Sat you may end up with a dead patient, and I know for a fact patient die from this is every ER (Lack of provider knowledge and poor BVM technique). I'll take absorption atelectasis post procedure with a living patient over a dead one.
