I would suggest that you dine at Il Corso food yard around 5pm and onwards. Or you may check I.T. park area or Cebu Business Park if you wanna hang out. Also try fuente area, much better if you walk the streets here to enjoy it more. 🙂💯👍

When I was a kid before 1990's , i was selling plastic bag at Colon. Wala pay SM niadto so tanan tawo dinhi mamalit sa mga department stores. Daghan kaayo snatching and pickpocketeers dinhi. Also, I remember my high school and college days always strolling here after school CCC/UC. I think the city govt can revive this street as another business alternatives and tourist destinations. My suggestion dont let any transport or cars use the street from Jakosalem St to Osmena Blvd. Let people walk on the street like Bugis Street in Singapore.

I’m a white guy living in colon at the moment. I simply just don’t take out my phone and wave it around in the main street and everything is chill so far. I also don’t run around the streets late at night alone like an idiot. I think just the street smart and you are fine here.

Recently though, I don't knowif it's because Duterte is about to step down or what pero murag sadly nakabantay nasad ko ani nila sa downtown. Lahi rajud basta naay police visibility labina pag sugod sa termino ni Digong but recently murag nawala na.. @@Cebuano123 i experience that too.. three juvinile thieves try to corner me with a batangas butter knife. i was luck to run with a long stick on my hand which i randomly took, and report it to the police. just found out the juvenile robbers go in and out of jail but no good since they are minors..

@ 2:28 "lansiao (beef intestines stew)" Maybe you and the vendors know what lansiao means and that you're just saying it's "beef intestines", to be nice about it. From what I've been told by my Chinese classmates back then, it means ---- the male sex organ. Kwa lansiao means 'big organ'. The tagalogs also has a bit of a disgusting term. What we call the dawo², they call "chupa kulo". Well, my hispanic co-workers here says "cullo" means ass, butt" and chupa means to suck. So put together, well it's somewhat disgusting. Hahaha! ◙ Back in the 80's I went into Cinema Theater with Pepsi in one hand and a sandwich on the other. A guy pushed me from behind and another person in front of me picked my front pockets. I dropped my food and drink and swung at the guy behind me. But I couldn't see much in the dark as I had just got in ---- so I was at a loss. But I swung at him anyway, and felt good that I did. I lost a few pesos and earned a "bukol" or two. Hahaha! Yeah, I think the guy stalking you was waiting for a good escape for when he snatched your Gopro. Like maybe waiting for a jeepney he could "akyat". Good video, thanks.
Oh man, i can imagine what happened to you. Those days you see a lot of these guys from all over the country flocking in Cebu to make easy money. When you come to Colon, much better to be really cautious and like if you have a wallet, put inside your front pocket, if you have a backpack, make 8t a frontpack instead 😁. Things like these you know. Di jud magkumpyansa kay Cebu is nucleus island, people from all over Phils. come here to look for "better opportunities" and that includes scammers, swindlers and snatchers' chances 9f making it big here. 😁

@@Cebuano123 I think a lot of pickpokets came from Ormoc. You're right, we have to take all precautions. Personally, I just don't go to Colon anymore. They say Duterte made a difference here, but I think that even if they get rid of the crooks their "handlers" which may be corrupt policemen and officials are still there and will simply replace street people with new ones. At Cinema, I was escorted out of the moviehouse by the secû and so was the pickpocket but I never got to see his face. A little too much fun back then. Hehehe.
