One day on Martin Luther King Jr weekend she brought her family of 8 to wait for her while she did some duties. The thing is the family of 8 took 4 of the 5 tables assigned to me. They would ask her for drinks and appetizers as they were free for her. The family sat there for 3 hours during our lunch. she joined them for another hour still bringing them free food. She ended up leaving by 4pm with only one table to serve for my whole shift. No tip, but they did leave their dirty dishes for me to pick up The next day I confronted her. People can have different boundaries when it comes to relationships, it doesn't automatically mean they're insecure. It's as silly as a polygamous person assuming a monogamous person is insecure just cause they're not comfortable with sharing their partner. There can be a variety of reasons why someone wouldn't be uncomfortable with it. Some people are fully monogamous and don't find other people attractive when in a relationship and expect the same from their partner, just like you would expect your partner not to flirt or have sex with others. Some people don't put as much importance on sex, so they find people willing to spend their time ogling some random celebrity as sad. It could also be an issue of privacy. She could be okay with him finding her attractive, just not showing it so openly on social media. Liking someone's 30 photos in a row makes it pretty obvious you're acting simpy, so it could be a bit like an average person not wanting their partner to post about porn on social media. I'm sure there's some more reasons but these were the only ones I could find on top of my head. Hope it gave you a better understanding then just "they must be insecure"

I used to work for a cafe. One of the managers used to preach how we were our own business, and that we are here to make money. No tip, but they did leave their dirty dishes for me to pick up
The next day I confronted her. I told her she was a hypocrite for preaching to us that we were supposed to create our own business, when in fact her family took my tables on a holiday weekend. She took Joey liking her photos as him wanting a prettier more successful girl that she never will be. Joey will probably never meet Sydney. He most definitely won’t ever get a chance with her. Amber knows that- she doesn’t see this as “cheating” or betrayal. She is thinking too much about this and sees this as him subtly implying that she’s not enough for him.

Exactly. If we're both standing, I'm not tipping
@@trl2151 Tipping shouldn't exist and all employers should be legally required to pay employees a living wage but until we get to that point you are an asshole if you knowingly choose to make someone work for $2.15 instead of going somewhere else or eating at home.
It's like choosing to eat in front of a starving child because the government should be taking care of them already. Yes, that is true, but it's not the world we live in yet and it's just a dick move. You can simultaneously both vote for politicians who want to provide minimum wage to restaurant workers/abolish tipping *and* tip the workers until that happens.
Or just don't go at all until that happens so they can focus on the customers that are actually helping them pay rent. If you don't want to participate in the system that currently exists then don't participate at all, rather than just trying to enjoy the benefits.
It's just a more nuanced variant of the shopping cart morality test and I really encourage you to rethink your actions.

That's not how to-go works. The people that work on to-go orders are not just waiters and waitresses who hand you a bag that magically appeared on a shelf. The to-go person typically only does to-go orders for the night and they are the ones who ring up your orders, organize all the food that comes out of the kitchen, and pack your bag while trying to time it right so the food is fresh when you come to pick it up. To-go workers also rely on tips the exact same way waiters and waitresses do. At least that's how it works in every sit-down restaurant I've worked. You should tip on food that you ordered to pick up at the door the same way you should tip waitstaff.
@@yayalucia7997just because you had to do some work doesn’t mean you are entitled to a tip. It’s basically just an expo which is normally a boh role anyway.
The reason that I tip servers because they are actually responsible for my meal. They give me recommendations, and fix mistakes that the kitchen has made, and good ones generally work towards making the meal an enjoyable experience. The only reason tipping works for the customer is because you become an advocate for my needs in the restaurant.
But when I’m order food to go, I don’t get any of that service. If you’re getting a tipped wage as a to go expo then you are getting hosed and should find another job.
Going to restaurants in the USA seems like a miserable experience.

@@nunyabusiness5275 you gotta be joking right? taking out food then sitting down at a table?
@@nunyabusiness5275 cause it’s just not right, they paid for to-go so they’re expected to go home and it’s worse for people who work in reservation resturaunts too imagine your reservation on hold because some jerk ordered to go and then decided to sit down at the table instead once they got there, that’s not fair to the customers who came to genuinely eat at the place and it’s not really fair for the staff either, it’s.. it’s just not right, if you’re gonna eat there don’t pretend to ask for to go

Hes got a point. He will never meet Sydney Sweeney, and the closest he might get is if he goes to a Ken Carson concert
I'll never tip on to go.
As a hostess, this happens all the time and I hate it. They get mad when I say no, so they sit down, I give them their food in the containers instead of plates as a reminder that they were “those” people.
I will never tip on togo. The chef will never see a dime of that money and they're the only ones who provided a service.
Tip on to go is why I don’t eat our nearly as much as I used to. Like I’m going to tip 20% like the machine tries to suggest. Especially because prices have gone up to a ridiculous degree.

Never tip togo
Tipping "to go," just like the rest of tipping culture, needs to go. Employees that are normally tipped need to be paid a living wage. Increase the price of food to cover costs. Include the amount of tax in the price of food as well.
let me get this straight.. you'd rather the food prices increase than pay tips.. do you know how stupid that sounds
@jakecortez4795 less stupid than making someone's livelihood dependent on the whims of their customers.
@@jakecortez4795yes I would. It would save me money because most serverers are way overpaid. And it would be nice to know how much my meal is going to cost upfront. And then when my server is shit I don’t have to rationalize how much of a tip they deserve. I’m trying to eat a meal not give a performance review.
@@jakecortez4795How is that stupid? We'd all end up paying the same amount in the end and wouldn't have to mess around with tipping.
Tax could never be included on any sales price because tax differs from city to city and can change daily and as quickly as overnight. Stores and restaurants would have to reprint menus and price tags to much they wouldn't be able to keep up.
