  • How old is a star? It turns out that’s one of the most difficult-and essential-questions for scientists to answer in order to understand the evolution of the Milky Way Galaxy.
Astrophysicist and Museum Curator Ruth Angus guides you through the innovative methods used to estimate the ages of stars. Discover how rotation rates, sunspots, and brightness measurements help scientists piece together the cosmic puzzle of our universe.

Using observation: Rotation speed, distinctive maks, brightness to estimate age of stars. Enjoyed this presentation.

When you say relatively rapidly, in what specific terms are you saying? If the initial speed of the star is intrinsically determined by the rotation speed of the cloud that composed it and therefore, each star has its own distinct/unique initial speed, what is the term of comparison? What is the mathematical basis for determining relative speed? And relative to what? Is this decrease in speed observable during the average life expectancy of a human being?

Wait, isn't the exact same method used to detect distant exoplanets? How do you differentiate a sunspot from an exoplanet at such distances?

no, cause when planets block the sun, The starlight's passage through the exoplanet atmosphere leaves traces that astronomers can piece together to determine the gases of the exoplanet's atmosphere. if its sun spots you would not see other gases.

May God bless each one's life and free them from all evil, may you have happy lives and regardless of difficult times, you may know that God has plans for each one's life, that even the pains of life work together for our good, making us better people, wiser and more appreciative of life, I also wanted you to know that God loves us so much that he gave his only son to suffer and suffer a lot for us and to redeem us from the sin of this world and allow us to have communion with God, if you don't feel well,If you feel depressed, empty, anguished, disturbed or hurt inside you, know that if you open your heart sincerely to God, I believe that He will help you, console you and help you In difficult times, I have felt a lot of pain and He has always helped me and supported me, I thank Him very much for that

    King James Version
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit
