This is so much more inspiring than AD home tours. Please do another one of these!
Wholeheartedly agree! I love seeing others styles and homes. It’s so inspiring - much more inspiring!
Yes!! It’s easy to have a cool home when you have unlimited budget, way more interesting to see what people can do when they are living on a more standard income
yesss a pt 2 please - I love seeing a window into other people's homes who maybe have come into their design eye more recently or don't have a big budget. Very inspiring and homey.
Yeah it is more realistic when you have more normal sized homes and things that feel a bit more possible/accessible than when you have a million dollar interior designer or something
I don’t think the last one was mean, I think your unapologetic opinions are hilarious even when I don’t agree
^^^THIS^^^
Agreed! Not mean at all, everyone should know if you like it go for it, it’s your home lol. To each their own!
Paige it would be great, if you have permission from the owners, to put all these photos on Pinterest board. I’m so inspired by these and the vignettes are just so beautiful. I would love to be able to look at them and pin to my board 😊
Right?! Much more inspirational than typical staged interiors 🧡
you can just screenshot them and save them to a folder, that's what I do
Screenshots are an option but yeah a board of subscriber images that you like would be AWESOME to follow
I love that you’re giving a platform to beautiful, creative, and realistic homes. Most interior instagram pages only feature super expensive apartments that have togos or bellinis… 🙄
could you actually make an instagram and post these submissions…? I’d follow that
@@nikkhalia Yes!!
Also, if you don’t have the capacity, you could forward the submissions to me and I’d run the account. Lol okay im done now. Thanks Paige 🥲
This might be my favorite video you've done recently! So fun to get a look inside real people's homes and I liked how you brought attention to unique features :) I also appreciate the mix of larger houses and smaller spaces as well as minimalism and maximalism.
Yes great mix and something for everyone, not just pushing 1 note boho or Studio McMansion etc
I never feel upset and offended when people are like "I would never have this in my home" like, yes, express yourself! Share your honest opinions! It's the "and you shouldn't either" that can get my back up, especially with something that's a necessity for someone you live with and care about. Yes, cat trees are ugly. So are C-Pap machines, and wheelchairs, and kids' backpacks, and highchairs, and car seats, but if you live with someone who needs those things, you love the family member more than you love aesthetics and you suck it up.
I mean, I’d say even the first part is a pretty rude and condescending way to express preferences.
"I would never have this in my home because it's not my style" is completely reasonable and no one should be offended. "Don't ever put that in your home because XYZ", where the item is optional to peoples' lives, is really helpful. "Don't ever put X in your house. Just don't." is not helpful and I could understand why people may be a little upset.
She doesn’t mean it literally, though. It’s a bit of tongue-in-cheek roasting.
I also didn't' like her comment "ooh cat owners are intense...". I am not a cat owner - don't have a cat, never owned a cat - and yet I understood what people were disagreeing about and also shared my opinion.
grouping a cat tree in with wheel chairs and car seats to make a point is reaching
I love when you show subscribers homes - along with “check out this f@&$ing home” and your own home updates are my favourite things you do.
abundance of glass and/or stainless steel in small pockets of a space (especially if the items are functional too) is so gorgeous, i basically have a fetish for glass and stainless steel. it makes any vintage space feel occupied and smart
I certainly wasn’t upset I appreciate your honesty and it makes me laugh at myself and the way popular culture, consumerism and cliche sucks us in. I love it when you call these things out. Makes me smile. My ego is not offended by your opinion. Everyone can say what they like and don’t. The whole point of what you do is being Paige, having a strong sense of style and personal taste. Like I commented last time I thought I got off lightly but even if I hadn’t, that’s what we signed up for Paige. Expressing who you are and sharing how you’d style homes and your home xxx never ever dial it down it’s what we like about you. You’re genuine and you have a strong sense of style. Xx
That was great. thanks
Do a part 2, please. Really enjoy these videos x
Thank you so much Paige for your opinion on my home 14:27. It really means so much hearing this from someone who’s into Interiors 🌞
Btw can I order the pillows in Germany?
Your home looks very nice 😊 I would want to sit on the window sill & read or scroll Through my phone if you had a cushion on there with the fresh air through the open windows 😊 I also wondered if that silver tray was holding a tea kettle? It looked different but chic
This is a great format! Please continue:)
What I would also love: you look at „problem areas“ in your subscribers homes, and suggest what to do with it. Because sometimes you have a litte weird corner where nothing really fits, and maybe someone else (Paige!) has an amazing idea how to solve it….
Have a lovely day ❤
I love your “I hate this” negative videos even more than your positive ones LOL. But I’ll watch anything you make!
Loved this! Hopefully you do a part 2 as I was really hoping to see my space to get your advice on how to continue furnishing / ideas.
Okay the dad/grandpa house is FABULOUS!!!
Regarding the stairway landing - depends on the age of the home! In a very old home they are "Coffin Corners", because when people died in bed, a spacious corner was needed to get the coffin up and down the stairs. My 1777 home in MD had one. Otherwise, it's just called a landing. :)
This is so interesting, thank you for sharing!
@@taylorl.7115Thanks, I learned a lot from that old house.
im in really need of an episode of my subs sent me items they are thinking of buying for their homes.. because of a bookshelf that i found that im really in to it, but have dark wood and its going to be in a dark corridor or just going with a tipical white ikeas one to balance a little bit
No why cater to haters
If you dont the dry humor of what is Paige then don’t watch
I LOve your style
LOve you humor
LOve everything you do
Your the best Home person on the web!!
So there haters - go away 😊
Or come to hate watch, cringe watch, and hate comment...it all helps Paige's engagement levels!!! 😅
Just because someone critics something doesn’t mean they’re a “hater”.
I think it's just called a landing area at 6:12 but I'm absolutely in love with that little sitting area for maybe a rest halfway up the stairs or just an unconventional place to hangout!!! I love!!
Yes, that landing thing? It’s called a “landing.” Lol
@@rosezingleman5007 Right? 😂
Depends on the age of the home! In a very old home they are "Coffin Corners", because when people died in bed, a spacious corner was needed to get the coffin up and down the stairs. My 1777 home in MD had one.
@@horsebydayartbynight wow thank you I should've figured someone at some point had given it a name, that's so fun tho I love functional architecture!
@@barrettd45 I read an article written by an architect recently where he mentions a book of builders terminology and slang, written in 1804. A Half Coffin was a corner designed for a 45 degree coffin angle, and a Full Coffin was larger, allowing for a horizontal coffin. If I remember correctly, these terms were in the "slang" category.
My 1777 house had a Half Coffin stairway - not big enough for a chair, so we put a chest of drawers in it. It was an odd, awkward spot otherwise.
I've done interior design... As far as anyone who questions your credentials I disagree... Design is probably one percent "learned terms", the rest is a person with a "good eye".... Knowing what works together and "makes sense"... It can't be learned.... Love your perspective , keep up the great work. Take care.
i couldn't agree with this more!
I'm a design enthusiast; not a designer. That said, I do know a lot. I once had a job in a studio with licensed interior designers. Their degrees were no predictor of talent. Out of 13 designers, I'd say a few of them were truly innately talented. Some of the greatest celebrity designers you see in magazines never went to design school, though of course they honed their skills. I respect the degree, but get so tired of the gatekeeping.
@@lorrilewis2178 I totally agree... I almost said it was "innate" in my prior comment... Good for you, It's an art to creates pleasant spaces... Not a skill... Take care.
@@david5544g Yes! I think we're born with it and then we have to refine the innate ability. And yes, it's an art, which is why I tire of the gatekeeping.
15:52 whoever lives here, your house, interior, and dog is beautiful
Agreed! Love that house! And pup!
Same, that space gave me a really specific 80's vibe but in a 2023 way
I love bowls of fruit in kitchen photos, but in reality the best place to keep fruit is in the fridge
Lynne here from Canada. I love all your videos ❤ your views are youthful which this old broad loves.
More of these please! Love seeing regular people homes!
I truly appreciate this little slice of the internet! Paige, thanks for sharing your specific take on taste and making interiors feel accessible to me in a way that no one has before. I'm sure it's tough to navigate so much feedback from so many voices when you feel like you're just a "gal!" Just know, you're one instrument in a symphony and are making impact in people's lives in a wry, relatable, and inspiring way. Also, the bedroom with green accents and the windowsill is GORGEOUS!! Thanks for sharing.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel like these mid century type of spaces aren’t really “unique” anymore? I’m not saying that they aren’t beautiful and that you shouldn’t do what you like with your space, I just have noticed this almost trendy “not trendy” type of aesthetic that a lot of interior UA-camrs tend to like. It’s basically “don’t be trendy and basic, do this instead” but it also ends up becoming kind of trendy amongst the design UA-camrs community. I’m not really sure how to describe it, but it just feels like a very specific type of vintage style that is considered “cool” and “unique” and “not trendy”, and it’s almost always this very masculine, mid century type of look, more simple furniture and very little to no ornate features that you’d see in a more traditional style with genuine antique pieces. And I’ve seen it so often that it’s almost starting to look trendy?
I feel like the whole “just buy vintage” thing that I hear so many of them say is kind of untrue, because 9 times out of 10 it feels as if they’re talking about a very specific type of vintage, and it’s almost never Victorian or Edwardian style of interiors. I really appreciate people like Drew (LoneFox) McKenna and Caroline Wrinkler for showing the beauty and uniqueness of more traditional spaces, and that you can still make those spaces your own. Traditional vintage needs more love, as not all of us like MCM.
This isn’t hate, I really enjoy Paige’s content. It’s more of just an observation I’ve made not just from her content but with a lot of people in the interior design side of UA-cam.
You're not alone. But I have to disagree that there are many people on YT with Paige's more modern style. I haven't seen that. I mostly see styles similar to Paige's on Pinterest and IG. But maybe I need to look harder? I followed Paige specifically because I didn't find anything like her style on this site and I see far more traditional antique-y homes featured on YT. It felt unique to me. Fresh. I've seen glam, farmhouse and farmhouse adjacent styles, traditional old styles, people trying to copy Studio McGhee, the very trendy post modern style popular with Gen Z. But I subbed to Paige specifically because I hadn't seen anything like this on YT at the time. HOWEVER, I still wholeheartedly agree that there needs to be way way way more variety in general that are more personal and unique no matter what the base style is.
I suppose the point I was intending to make is that I feel even if these spaces are eclectic and unique in their own ways, as we all have our own personal tastes, the base style still seems to always lean very masculine and MCM, and when they reference vintage design it’s almost always this very specific type of vintage and era. Vintage is a very broad term.. there’s many different eras and design styles that come with them, but sometimes it feels like this particular type of aesthetic is what people are talking about when they say vintage, but on the other hand will say that traditional vintage pieces are bad or ugly. So a lot of it is going to boil down to our own personal tastes and preferences, not just “buy vintage”.
That’s just my opinion though and everyone is entitled to their own. Not trying to upset anyone or start something.
@@ashleyrose1840 I looked up vintage decor, vintage thrift decor, and vintage interior design on YT and what I saw was mostly what looked to me to be antiquey and traditional. Ornate, bevelled metallic and wooden picture frames, florals, fine china, simple crocks and vases, more ornate candle holders, traditional portraits, botanicals and pastoral art. Either way, no I don't think it's cool to call something bad just because you don't personally subscribe to that style (though I don't think traditional style is underrepresented.) I'm not sure who is saying that traditional style is BAD but if they are, it's a bit silly. It's just a different style. It's up to the person to choose what they like. No matter the style it can be done while using the same design principles. :)
There is so much more to traditional and MCM than meets the eye as interior decor and as UA-cam content. There are more UA-cam creators that go for that and many others that are very alternative in their styles as well. Just need to look deeper and away from the ones that have more recognizable channels.
Garrett LeChic is great for more traditional design vids
I love hearing about other people's interior design opinions, even though mine usually don't overlap very much. I describe my style as Victorian witchy, but dark academia is close too. I will probably never have white walls, because they literally give me migraines and I really dislike white furniture for myself (probably because my mum wouldn't let me have anything else), but I can still appreciate when other people have those.
Edited to remove an extra "who".
I love the mix of old, new, vintage, antique, modern. I also love when people have curated non expensive stuff but that have nice design (like the orange folding chairs in the small dining room). Good interior design needs a good eye not lots of money (same as fashion)...
Paige, I love it when you trigger me. In all seriousness. Interiors are fiercely personal and it’s kinda like having our whole personality on display for all to see. It can be kinda vulnerable. Speaking only for myself, it’s good for me to feel that defensiveness and the need to justify my decisions and ask myself what in the actual heck that’s all about? It’s your opinion. That is literally all it is. You’re not going to send us all to some design purgatory where we will be lashed lol. And you’re nowhere near as vicious as my mom and sister and I are when we look at interiors. Anytime someone is confident and unapologetic in their opinion, it’s going to trigger people who are in any way shape or form insecure in their own opinions. Please don’t censor yourself. You’re not malicious. At least, I don’t get that vibe from you whatsoever. You seem like a tender hearted sort. A tender heart with opinions about interiors. ❤
I totally agree, and people usually like hearing someone express an opinion, not just wishy washy "whatever is ok"
Who the hell was upset? Was one of your best videos, although actually they're all the best. You're my favourite interior design content creator and I've watched them all 😄 xxx
Paige show us new cool etsy shops
love the video!! ❤my bedroom was sadly not included hahaha it is fun how everyone is such a tulip fan . Honestly, i found really interesting that you show "simple" homes, because let's be honest, is what most of us can get.. so it is more real
I like your design style. That's why I watch. I look forward to your shows. Don't change.
I like how you reminded us that this channel isn't necessarily like other popular interior design channels that are almost like a course. I think your strengths are in speaking in an entertaining way and sharing thoughts and opinions, while you learn and grow. Less teacher/student and more advanced student suggesting things for an intermediate student, or friends to friends.
Everyone should just do what they like. I’m old now and do what makes me happy. You’re a quirky girl and that’s a compliment! I enjoy all your videos. I’m a different Lynne from Canada than the person above.
That all red space is the exact color of my entire hallway. Ceilings, stairs, walls doors and trim. It looks like the velvet lining inside of a jewelry box and I love it!
Just love the pooch photo bomb in the last home. He's so cute. Like, "hey guy's".
I just love coming here to just get more inspo and design food for thought. The more input I have, the more ideas - it makes me see things in a new way. Do you Paige. I love it
this was incredible. it's so much fun to see relatable, GOOD design. so inspiring, I immediately want to update some things in my home because of this.
So inspiring to see how people mix. Great video. & Paige your approach is consistently so enjoyable and relatable. Ty.
I’m a big fan of all your videos, but it is especially refreshing and helpful to see the “relatable” decor and your thoughts on it!
This was such an inspiring video! It's really cool to see how regular people can make their homes look so amazing and I have so many ideas now.
The space on the stairs is called the “landing”, or sometimes in a building referred to as the “Mezzanine”.
Omg! I’m so glad you shared liv’s house! Such good design and a lovely human!
Please do a part two, that was so nice!
Do more of these, they’re so fun!!
Yeah this was a home run. Amazing content, thanks Paige!
I never comment, but this was such a great video! so inspiring to see cool homes that are photographed by regular people. Thanks for making :)
More of these please ! This was great
I love your honest design opinions with a dash of bad ass idgaf vibes. Keep em coming! ❤
Spreading positivity is always worth it 🏆
🙂
It just makes my day whenever you upload a new video, also - I love this series
I didn’t mind your last video, i love and trust your taste in design. Just happy to be here.
i love love love wallpaper as backsplash. You can play around with colors and patterns in a way you can't with a traditional tile backsplash. I'm in love with all the pictures from that house. Looks cozy and lived in. The staircase is gorgeous
That dad/grandad's home is super inspirational and aspirational!
Real lived homes with so much personality, this was really inspiring!
Looking forward to the home update!
Im just a gal that likes interior design too and I prefer these videos to the ~hate~ ones. Though I imagine the engagement of those is much better since it creates discussion and dissent. Try not to listen to the few that go too far, most people are just using your video as a jump off point to discuss home design
You and I have pretty much the same taste. All the things you hate, I hate too, and all the things you love, I love too. I love wood, especially oak and dark wood. When I was young, I wanted a "Rooms To Go" home where everything matched, but now I just love mixing and matching styles and colors. I love picking up the colors in a painting to pick accessories.
I love morning wood.
pleaseeee make videos like this every month, so much inspo!
Loved this!!!!! I love seeing real people and real homes/apartments
paige it's lex I am BEGGING for a skincare routine bc your skin is always flawless
I missed you last video and now i want to go back and watch it so badly. I love when you do those videos.
I like this type of episodes so much! Love your channel😊
Lots of gorgeous, real homes. Thank you 💜
There are clearly some very stylish people following this channel. So many cool spaces in this video! 👏👏👏
“We’re going to be nice today” 😂
Really enjoyed this video. Thanks, Paige, for keeping it real and interesting.
I love this type of video, this is very relatable like you said, I got a lot of inspo from it :)
I LOVE hanging out with you.
SAME
We love your honest opinion. Who cares if other people are mad
Hi Paige!! Just keep doing what your doing in the way you're doing it👏👏All the best, Darlia
Would love a video about textiles/bedding you like. My fave part of this was seeing all the blankets that put the room over the top!
Same! Im struggling to find these items. As well as throw pillows
Really like this video!! Breath of fresh air to hear the likes. It's inspirational too!!
I absolutely loved this video and I LOVED the last one! It needed to be said ❤
I really like this video. I can take all the inspiration I want from pinterest, but my house will never look like that. I live here, and so does my dog and my plants, and I don't actually have an unlimited budget. I love seeing styled and designed homes that are still clearly homes that someone normal lives in
I loved this!! So much inspiration.
We love the roasts!!! Keep them cominggg
The fact that you’re wearing a Lasa Pamilya shirt just made me love you more 😭
echoing other comments as well - love ALL your vids, pls ignore the haters.
Man… these are so good
Totally loved this video!!
Paige, just bought a pillow! Hats off to you and Kate. Excited to keep up with your work. xx
THANK YOU!!
Paige you do you! You weren't mean at all last video. Not everyone has to like the same things and thats the best part of design imo
love the Was concept
Love hanging out with you!! People can be amazing and poopy heads in equal measures. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas w us!!
Wonderful video!! So inspiring to see real colour palettes in real homes.
Good idea for her to make a video describing the color palettes of spaces!
The thin painted piping in that bedroom is cool.
I really love how you took some of these examples no matter how simple and found good ideas in them. I thought your previous video was very funny. I just cannot get offended, by anything you say, I guess I share your sense of humor.
Paige, this was GORGEOUS!! I would use those photos as decor in my apartment if I could print them!
Please, consider making this a series (Honor Luca sent me to your channel, and I'm so glad she did!)
WE WANT MORE!!!
Paige, I find you very refreshing. My taste leans simple lines, modern furniture, and about half of the furnishings are high end walnut and teak mid century modern. Your taste isn’t mine and you have things in your home I wouldn’t put in mine. Are you mad at me for that? No. People who are so easily offended need to chill out. They’re what’s wrong with this world. I love watching you.
The velvet couch brigade are salty and the cat tree crew are just disappointed 🤣 Don't let them get you down Paige we love the content ❤
I'm part of the velvet couch brigade, but duslike any and all cat things/homes/cat pee smell, don't always share the same opinion ad Paige(but do you ever share ALL opinions with anyone??) I think even negative people/haters come back because they like her
I love that she said the word while asking what it was called.😀
16:24 living room ~ pure love, congratulation
Great video! I want to see a detailed house tour of the person from those last 2 pictures they were my favourite 😊
You make me laugh, and that is better than any interior. thanks!
omg can you do more of these love it.
Wowzers! You have such talented subs, Paige. I loved them all. Undone, eclectic style yet it’s still considered. Nothing too perfect. Wonderful.
simple and creative solutions
Just FYI.....I agreed 100% with the last video
loveeed this video!!!
