I will say as a level 98 (almost 99) player that the time does matter, but it's for each player, not every player will have a diamond crappie around 13 : 00, it's different. Also, if you are not catching fish on a bait, switch it up. Try other things that the certain species likes. Reading that handbook is good. And smaller hooks will make you able to learn what fish species wants what. And I recommend for diamond hunting, if you do not catch a gold within 20 - 30 irl minutes then switch spots, never change servers unless you go to every spot. (sorry for long comment, just how I catch fish)

I use silver hooks like 90% of the time. Also use bronze hooks for some species.

90% of the fish in part 1(in amongst the lilys} for me is rainbow trout. Size 6 spinner or spoon.

Because we want to get the most amount of fish in the least amount of time, it adds up quick, get diamonds to spawn quicker
