- 50 years ago, I started creating songs by singing over instrumental records because I wasn’t skilled enough to accompany myself on an instrument. My friends thought I was nuts! These days my friends still think I’m whacked but at least that creative process has been normalized as top line writing. Recently, I was so moved by a video posted by Marco Cirillo that it brought me back to my youth - and inspired this song. I simply sang over his “slightly edited” video just as I did as a teenager. I’m posting it today because it’s my birthday and, at my age, there’s no better gift than feeling young and inspired. Hope you like it!

@@omotayoakinmoyero4011 Would you ask the same question if you wanted to improve your drawing or painting? Singing is an art. So sing. You don't have to wait for a magic moment. If there is something you would like to sing better than work towards that goal - but in the meantime sing things that are comfortable.
