Hi Alex, this video really showed what a pain in the a** tarping is, especially with the additional clear plastic you had to use this time. So do loads that require a tarp generally pay more because that is a lot of extra work, especially if you’re outside and it’s windy. Please stay safe and don’t worry about the a**holes you encounter at the shippers, like you said, he probably hates his job and wants to take it out on others.
Hey, Merry Christmas to you and your family, Alex! Really enjoyed the securement and the tarping! I always look to improve my securement or find more efficient ways and have picked up a lot from you. You're a class act even when dealing with pricks. You always maintain your professionalism. Props, bro. Appreciate the video, bud, and have a safe trip👍
I feel ya brother. Unpleasant jerks ! Hope you can file detention pay to broker / shipper. 3 hours lost is like $350 ! Wish there was a way to avoid those horrible places that make you wait hours. Such b.s.
I think you're right Alex about the guy at your shipper not liking his job. Plus many shippers simply don't care about transporters or how they load the materials for them.
@@richardbarkley9909 Not really lock them. I use bungees to hold them down and then pins that hold the rack door in place. If someone truly wants something they’ll find a way to steal it.
@@Mr.AlexKogan Years ago when I was picking up our '65 Mustang convertible after restoration I had locks 9 ways to Sunday on my 24' enclosed car hauler trailer. So much so my restorer thought I was crazy. I had a padlock through the coupler clasp, an old screw-in Master tongue lock, 2 locking lug nuts on each wheel, boot style wheel clamp locks, locks on all doors with no exposed shackles. My thought was that a thief wouldn't want to work that hard and would just move to the next one.
If there was a "Hot Shot Owner/Operator of the year award YOU Sir would win hands down!! Merry Christmas Alex!!
@@richardbarkley9909 Thank you Richard!!! Really appreciate that. Merry Christmas!!!🎄🎁

@@richardbarkley9909 Yes. As long as it’s easier and less work for them that’s all they care about.
@@Mr.AlexKogan Yep.
Is your truck a High Output?
Was the plastic a requirement of your shipper this time? Never seen that before.
@@richardbarkley9909 I believe so. This was the first time I was given plastic to put over the load.
Do you have a way to lock up/secure your tarps when they are stored?
@@richardbarkley9909 Not really lock them. I use bungees to hold them down and then pins that hold the rack door in place. If someone truly wants something they’ll find a way to steal it.
@@Mr.AlexKogan Gotcha. May be a padlock in place of the pins? I think that would further deter a thief.
@ It would for sure.

@@richardbarkley9909 Yeah. It’s always good to protect your investment.
