My dad bought a 1970 Chevelle SS 396 off the showroom floor after trying out several other 1970 muscle cars. The Chevelle was a freak stock! Beat many cars over the years. He had it beefed up to 500 hp and when I got my drivers license at sixteen he gave it me as my first car! My second car was a 1968 GTO that too was super clean! 1976 I got the Chevelle. Everybody cruised the El Camino Real between So San Francisco and Belmont California. All muscle cars, and racing was the norm on weekends!
That's only the 2nd Autumn Gold SS I've ever seen. Back in the mid 80s a neighbor of mine had one exactly like this, and I hadnt seen one since, and I've been into cars most of my life and have been to more car shows and auctions that I can count, but never did see this rare color package. Very sweet!👍
excellent muscle car! how much did this sell for? just curious since Im looking to buy something nice this year, id expect to pay about 36,000 plus for something of this quality
No heater/defrost, it wouldn’t pass a safety check to change ownerships here in Ontario Canada. Get rid of those silly ass hose covers as well. BTW the engine is missing the Cowl Induction ZL2 breather.
Nice looking SS396. I hope the new owner ditched those front springs. Too high for factory specs I'd say. O well no big deal and not nitpicking but geez.
Nice no doubt, but cars just a chevelle rod with Pontiac wheels, give a correct code car any day.. car should sell quickly to someone who goes for looks not for originality.

Sounds like it has an exhaust leak under the hood.

Better look again, some Chevelles had those wheels.
