- The magic of Christmas in Colmar, first of all there’s the ambiance of the Old Town, illuminated and decorated like a fairy tale: a historic setting made magical by the Christmas illuminations which, in this festive period, blend harmoniously with the wonderful lighting designed to enhance the town’s heritage, and lay a soothing aura of light over the centre of Colmar.
Colmar town centre is essentially pedestrian, comprises numerous architectural treasures such as monuments, churches, museums and alleys, full of imposing buildings dating from the Middle Ages to the 19th century.
The whole town is decorated, as in a dream, turning the old centre into a veritable open-air theatre where the warm Christmas mood envelops the heart of the town. In Alsace, the preparation of Christmas and of end-of-year celebrations it is an especially moment which waited. Moment of conviviality and sharing, this period is favourable to return to the real family values.

I was in Colmar on the 1st day of Christmas last year. It is like a dream ❤
My wife and I were there 2 weeks ago..... Wife is German and we both agree..... of all the Christmas Markets.... this and Salzburg are the best. Not all crammed in tight as possible.

Colmar felt more artificial than Disneyworld when I visited
A very fast walk thru. No chance of appreciating the vendors arts and craft.
Also, check out other German Christmas markets, i.e. the wonderful Medieval Christmas market in Esslingen or the little Ravenna Gorge Christmas market in the Black Forest. P.S. yeah, of course I know Colmar is in France, duh .... it's still very much a German Christmas market though ...
That's how it should be. Not like the awful displays in Paris.
Grinch here, hello! 😬Colmar has gone nuts with decorations.. nuts. Still magical is far.... far away. Why.. Just too crowded. There is a limit, a low one, to amount of people and here.. well.. horrid levels. Second; a bit too early evening. Needed to be dark sky to get lights into "magical" mode. Third; to have a "magical" christmas atmosphere there MUST be snow. Without snow even California could get magical.. nope.. not gonna happen. And last.. after all "grinchy" complaints (don't get mad with me, at least too much, fan of Your videos!) music is so off; no music better or with this amount of people circus theme could and would work better.. 😵💫🥴
Quality of the film, as Yours usually, is excellent! Only timing (in every way) shot blank. 😖
