Mabu is honestly a good artist. It doesn’t take advanced bars to make good music. His punch lines and flow makes his music. For his age, I’d say he’s pretty decent.
@@tylerherdman1755 Age doesn’t change my opinion. You can be older and make shitty music, I’ll still feel the same. Mabu isn’t great, nor is he trash. He’s decent.
Nah he just sucks rn. Still to be seen if he has any potential or is just a rich kid playing around with some A/V equipment/editing and posting his little playtime to the internet. I could see a future where he develops into an artist one day, and that would be just gravy, but if he's truly serious and passionate about it he needs to move out of NY and try his hand at performing, networking, and collaborating down in ATLANTA the hip hop capitol of the world. At this point tho, I could see this dude either being successful and walking a meaningful path, or just as equally being a face in the crowd who dabbled in some generic rap shit for a phase. If it's the latter I'm worried he'd cling on to that as his identity addictively and never develop, which unfortunately is the phenomenon with lots of child stars. What people need to understand is that it's not always about player hating, it's just that any kid with the resources could make a rap and video like this, and as tech continues to progress and become more available and easier to interface with, we will see *tons* of "rappers" just like him, just like what we saw with SoundCloud but this is just the next iteration / generation.
@@jamesstortz936 I agree in general but I see him maybe going down a 6ix9ine route where he’s not respected by the streets but still raps about it. Mabus dad is like a millionaire CEO he’s definitely not lived that life, so he’s gonna get hate when he talks about gang banging etc. Only other way I can see him blow up without people hating him is if he switches genre to something a bit more generic but im not sure if that would just ruin his appeal completely too. Edit: I’ve seen that apparently his dad is involved in marketing a big record label from Atlanta so you’re probably right tbh it seems like he has all the resources to make it with the help of his dads label and he’s got talent to go with it too so you’re right in hindsight
@@reelAImagicc I see what you're saying. Mac Miller (RIP) made it big without rapping about the streets but rather to his credit sort of created a new type of rap genre starting out talking about college life, which is why I majorly respect him, so there's definitely possibilities here. If this kid has the artist blood in him, the passion, he could have a pretty straightforward path to being the household name he wants to be. And to me passion is all what it's about in any art and he's still got plenty of time to figure it out. Mac Miller and Jack Harlow have shown that you can be white and not rap about the streets which is actually huge because -- adding to your point -- I totally feel that street cred/rep is what holds back a lot of people from getting into the genre or pressures them to fit in with that. But it's always changing too and we'll just have to see what happens.
@@jamesstortz936 yeah totally agree. The one thing that had me a bit stumped was how aggressively he raps it would be interesting how he can transition and still keep that high energy going. I’m here to find out tho
