    First pair of Levi's i ever bought was in 1969. £3-75p (Three pound fifteen shilling in those days) Could only afford one pair at a time. The Levi denim jacket cost £5-00. That was more body fitting than the present day ones. Ultimate cool was wearing the jeans faded and a practically new jacket. I'm 70 years old now, bet i could still get away with that.✌🏻😃

    It doesn't really matter anymore. Real Levi's are the same quality as the fake ones, these days. I still have Levi's from when I was a kid that are still in great shape, but newer Levi's only last me roughly a year, even though they're being put through less stress than the ones I wore as a kid. Somewhere along the line Levi's lost their way.

    I have worn Levi's for YEARS and had no idea there were counterfeits. Right now I only have two pairs ... I own LOTS of jeans but sadly only two are Levi's. Looks like one pair is for real and the other pair may or may not be. The second pair is actually jean leggings so I'm not sure they count anyway. Captivating! I need your expertise, or that of your fans. I have 2 questions please. Why does my one pair (501s I think) have an extra size tab/flap attached to the right of the typical patch we're all used to? It extends the patch width about 1/2" and is perforated, I guess to rip off at some point, but I haven't since it's the only pair like it I have encountered, and I like it. It simply restates the size (sideways) and nothing else. This extra tab is not sewn onto the waist like the rest of the patch is, but is clearly an extension of it (all one piece, then perforated). If I would tear it off, which I'm not going to do, it would make the patch look like every other. I wondered if some mysterious tag-puller missed this pair!
    2nd question please; I favor 514s, and was wondering why two pair (not blue & not heavy) have black patches on them? I have not been able to find out on my own why these aren't brown like the rest of them. My query only brings up black jeans with black patches, but mine are gray and brown with black patches. Thank you for the video!

    • @PickRoll
      @PickRoll  Рік тому

      Many have that perforated patch. Thats ok. I believe it's done for the size to be easier seen when in the store stacked. Most just rip it off thats why not seen often.
      Not sure on the black patch but I also have seen many. I believe they just put it on the colors other than blue, but not always, if you google gray levis 514 black label you will see others.

    Great advice, thank you. I like Levi's 501s and wear a 34 34 size. One pair I bought two years ago were the best fit ever, my favourite ever jeans. I bought the same size last year and the fit is completely different. Why is this? Why can't they just make them the same. Both pairs were bought from an official Levi's store..

      Part of that is because when clothes are cut in factories, they are cut in huge stacks. I am sure that they have a certain amount of fabric layers for quality, but as they cutting die goes through the fabric, at the bottom, compared to the top, the size will be slightly different. As the die gets more dull, the difference grows. So the pieces cut on the bottom won't be the same as on the top. Each piece of the garment isn't cut by hand, they would be too expensive.
