Campbell moved to accommodate Heard, who is young, plus fighting nagging injuries. We play alot of young guys and many are inexperienced in SEC play. @@zaxles
We're fortunate to have Huepel as our coach. He isn't perfect, but he's a class person and a great coach. We've definitely grown under his leadership, and will continue to do better.
Nico is going to continue to get better you can’t blame everything on him he doesn’t get enough opportunities to throw the ball and when he does our o line doesn’t often give him a lot of time cut Nico some slack he’s still out guy
When you cut through the coach speak, here’s what Josh Heupel is really saying: 1. **Frustration with Missed Opportunities**: Heupel is clearly frustrated with the offense, particularly with how close they’ve been to hitting big plays. The fact that he keeps mentioning they were "close" suggests there are execution issues-whether it’s slight misthrows, route timing, or breakdowns in blocking. This hints at a level of underperformance that he’s trying to downplay. 2. **Concern Over Slow Starts and Consistency**: He repeatedly talks about the need for the team to "settle in" and start better. This indicates he’s concerned about how the team has been slow to execute early in games, especially in the run game. The offensive line not always "operating as one" also suggests inconsistency in their play, which is a key area he knows they need to fix. 3. **Confidence in Nico but Recognizing He's Struggling**: He’s defending his young quarterback, Nico, but acknowledges Nico hasn’t played his best football recently. Heupel is likely worried about Nico’s confidence and development, even though he doesn’t outright say it. He mentions that Nico needs to play with more aggressiveness, signaling that he may be hesitating or not trusting his reads. 4. **Significant Loss in Keenan Peely's Injury**: The loss of Peely for the season is a big blow to the defense, and Heupel acknowledges how important Peely was not just as a player but as a leader. While he expresses confidence in the backups, there’s an underlying concern about the defense’s communication and leadership without him. 5. **Pressure to Handle the Rivalry Game**: While he downplays it, this rivalry game carries a lot of weight. Heupel knows the magnitude, especially facing a tough quarterback like Jayla Milose, and the defense will need to handle both the passing and running threats. His comments about defensive "rush integrity" indicate he’s stressing discipline against a mobile QB. Overall, Heupel is frustrated with the offense’s lack of execution and concerned about consistency across the board, especially with key injuries. While he’s confident in his players’ potential, he knows they need to elevate their play quickly to meet the challenges of the upcoming rivalry game.
a great coach our problem right now is Nico and the offensive line Dillon Sampson is the MVP of the SEC right now in the defense is solid if we can get the offensive passing game going will be hard to beat.
I fully stand behind Coach Heupel and our football team...with that being said, these young men are human, and they will make mistakes, but is there something goin on behind the scenes with our offensive players' mindset ? Are some players jealous of Nico's NIL deal, and not performing to their capability because he's getting that money w/o having proved himself yet ?...Sorry folks, but just something you hope isn't happening, but very well could be an issue...GBO !🍊🏈🇺🇸👍!!!!!
100% - I’m cutting him some slack though. He’s been the best coach we’ve had since early 2000s Coach Fulmer and he took the coaching job when Alabama and Georgia were and are National Championship caliber.
@@TennVols1084 oh yeah, definitely put him as our best coach since Fulmer and has brought Tenn football back into relevance. So I can’t be that mad but also would like to see a better record against those three. We had the lead going into half against Bama last year so it could have easily been 2-1.
That will be determined next season he's still a freshman with only what seven games played he's a five-star recruit for a reason next season I fully expect him to be the best quarterback in the SEC if not then yeah maybe you're right
I’m all for coach Heupel. But… He said things weren’t perfect for Hendon Hooker. If Hooker had this defense and offensive line he would be Heisman frontrunner right now.
What in the world are you talking about? This offensive line is horrendous especially the tackles, lance heard has had a pass blocking grade in the 30’s the past 3 games and John Campbell Jr. has as well
We're fortunate to have this man as our coach. We've not been this consistent since Phil Fulmer. Cut this young team some slack
The O-line and receivers aren’t young

@@rheziii heard is so out of shape and slow. Nico is paranoid in the pocket since our backs and o line struggle to block
snitch ahh coach
Love our coach , he’s the best thing to happen to Tennessee football in a long time
Heupel brought us out of the Dark Ages. Remember that. We haven’t competed at this level in 20 years it feels like. Go VOLS. This man has vision.
All opponents held to under 20 points. It's been the 60s since we can say that. That's something to be celebrated.
Out Big 3 job is to not let Tennessee beat them
Josh is the coach for us
for sure 1 of if not the best tn coach
Give em a minute. No way we should've been this successful this quickly, after the disasters of the years and coaches before CJH. Go Vols.

0-3 against GA, 1-2 against Bama, 2-2 against FL. Love Coach H but we have to do better against our big 3.

Is Nico really the guy?
Not right now he aint
Yes without a doubt. Hooker was a 6th year. He was 25. First year nico has plenty of room to grow.
