8:07 Actually the pink sheep does have a 0.164% of chance spawning naturally. So it's one of the few actual deep Minecraft references shown in the trailer.
14:14 I can’t wait for the character with the wig to go like, “woah, good thing I still have my RAYOVAC battery! These things are so helpful no matter what!”
Leaked post credits scene: "Who... are you?" Steve Jablinski Games says, staring at the figure towering above him "I... am Herobrine." says Herobrine, played by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, "I have come to your dimension to set up the sequel, which may potentially lead to a threequel." "Well, that just happened." says one the other live-action characters. *TO BE CONTINUED*
6:21 ChatGPT gave me this.."When a group of clueless villagers accidentally summon a mob army, it's up to an out-of-shape Steve, a sarcastic Creeper, and a sheep with dreams of greatness to save the Minecraft world-one block at a time."
11:15 that's called Mickey Mousing, early black and white Mickey cartoons timed actions with the music for a special effect generally not seen before. But considering this is no longer the 1900s the idea has been done to death especially in trailers
it's always a thing with these famous celebrity actors isn't it? "The expression". Dwayne Johnson comes to mind, or Kevin Hart, like they are acting what they think ordinary person rest face looks like. It's strange
I would UNIRONICALLY watch a Minecraft movie that's entirely within the scope of the game and has no real world people getting isekai'd in to point out how weird it is for things to be square. The movie should open with Steven coming into existence for the first time in a newly generated world, and just trying to survive. No doomsday threat, no fate of the world in the balance, just a weird square guy trying to exist in a strange but fascinating world.
That version of the story requires more thought from the film and the audience. The people making this movie don’t want to think and the people watching this movie don’t want to think either
I think The Island by Max Brooks is like that. Unnamed Protagonist does wonder about things being square, but it's a book about them trying to survive more then anything
I really wanted something that would use the lore in Minecraft. There is so much story that could be illuminated, like the orgins of The End, all the ruins from past civilizations, Steve's orgins. ANYTHING. But this is what we get, so disappointing
Climax would of course be defeating the ender dragon, being sent back to their base. And if you want to set up another movie: Torches are gone, house is in shambles, Redstone Torches mark a path to a 1×2 tunnel as fog rolls in. Someone is mining in there. End credits.
the two coming-of-age kids that'll have a forced romantic sub plot, the goofy overly confident adult man, and, of course, the sassy black girl theyre really getting original with this one
I thought that the kids were siblings and the trope will be that they argue the whole movie until one of them is in danger and then the other realizes that they actually love their sibling
I was in a cinema when I first saw this trailer. The moment it passed through the portal to reveal the monevraft landscape, I violently shit myself in excitement, blowing a hole through the back of my seat. As the trailer continued, my joy built ever higher, and I rose to my feet. Finally, when Jack Black showed up and delivered the line "My name's Steve" I could no longer contain myself. With my arms and legs wide in a sort pf sumo stance, I bellowed "POGGEEEERS"! At the top of my lungs. The people in the next row immediately went deaf, and it led to a mass exodus from the cinema. The resulting stampede crushed a six year old child to death. I, still transfixed by the glory before me, was unable to move until the bomb squad arrived to take me into custody. I am 32 years old.
5:27 OMFG JACK, you’re a genius! I bet this movie will end with these main characters becoming “Mojang” and creating Minecraft The Game to replicate the adventure they went on lol.
You already know that; with this being called "A Minecraft Movie", the sequel isn't going to be called just "Another Minecraft Movie". They're going to call it; and I'm making this an official prediction, they're going to call it: "A Nether Minecraft Movie"
every good comedy has a sassy black overweight woman to exclaim "oh hell nawww" so we know when to laugh. really alleviates that burden of independent thought
She's not gonna die in the first 10 minutes, can't have that in a kids movie, but she's gonna be suffering every single "comedic mishap" this movie has to offer.
THIS. This is one thing I'm worried about. We have so many stereotypical sassy black women characters in so many movies and franchises, it's problematic and unoriginal and we do not need more of them. These characters feel like a collection of outdated, problematic tropes (edit: typo)
Oh god that just makes it more likely to fulfill the guess another thread made me come up with- The end is them returning to the real world and Jack Black pulls a Bilbo Baggins and writes about his adventures, only it's a video game not a book, and he does it under the pseudonym Notch...
The story of Minecraft is literally that you get placed into a world you don't understand, that feels very empty and abandoned. THEY COULD LITERALLY HAVE DONE ACTUAL MINECRAFT LORE AND STILL HAVE AN AUDIENCE SURROGATE. But they are too lazy to do that so they just make another jumaji.
Magic mystery tour is all you get soooo minecraft right!!! Seriously C418 was a must, but I highly doubt we will hear any of the absolute classics from volume alpha.
"Herrrrrrrm, what the cobblestone?" -Jack with a long nose and a brown robe, as a horde of evil pigs chases Steve and the audience surrogates through the village.
@@TheStoenk I mean her reaction is valid in my eyes. As much as I'm a Minecraft fan, and even though the game is insanely popular, not everyone is supposed to know who Steve is and him making a grand introduction is a bit cringe ngl...
I cant wait for the main cast to ask Jack Black how to return to the normal world, hes gonna go "Yeah ... Do you want the good news or the bad news?" Then they all scream collectively.
14:20 I think Rayovac as a brand was more prominent in the 80s, so it adds to the 80s theory. Also Steve's top looks kinda 60s style, so I'm guessing he's been stuck there for a few decades.
That "And you're probably thinking, why are we hearing Magical Mystery Tour by The Beatles" was so real. Like Beatles songs are half beautiful masterpieces and half terrible acid trips.
I honestly believed this was an elaborate parody on video game movies and trailer analysis videos for at least three minutes. Was about to comment how jacksfilms must have teamed up with some pretty good vfx people to make a minecraft world so "high fidelity hollywood animation" and yet so clearly completely missing the mark of what a minecraft movie should look like, but then I decided to fact check it real quick and fuck me it's real.
Man, the "late Ringo Starr" thing actually tricked me, I was like "I don't remember hearing about him passing, when did that happen" and had to look it up.
The line "toolbag" actually serves to show how old the writers of this movie are, with their vocabulary and sense of humor coming straight from the 80s.
Spy kids 3 was made with so much love, the director purposely didn't want to receive a higher budget because he knew kids would love the funnier janky effects, this is just slop
10:16 also why would you write "Next year"? That information is very relative to when you are watching the trailer. Unless they are preparing to use it as an excuse when they delay the move by a year to redo the sheep's face, then it's a brilliant move.
i am 500% certain that wood chopping scene 17:18 will go something like "great, we are lost, we don't know what to do and it's getting dark! Goshdarn it!!" *hits the tree in anger and it pops, everyone's shocked*

I will make one exception for "trailer music epic-ification" and that's the inevitable epic version of All Star they make for the Shrek 5 trailer.
Oh my god that would have me wetting my britches in excitement!
And then the film itself should open with 3gi's cover of All Star, as an old Shrek goes through his humble family life with nothing but contentedness.

I would totally watch that, but definitely not whatever the hell… this is
That version of the story requires more thought from the film and the audience.
And if you want to set up another movie:
Torches are gone, house is in shambles, Redstone Torches mark a path to a 1×2 tunnel as fog rolls in.
Someone is mining in there.
