With the washer - with big items, you need to pull them out, then readjust them and put them back in. When you left it in, the spin cycle was only pulling from a few angles, so you basically needed to readjust the surface area. Same with the dryer, pull it out, readjust, and put it back in and run the cycle again. It's still going to take 2 or 3 tries and often I just get the item (usually comforters or big coats) mostly dry and let it hang to finish.
I love this blanket. The material is soft, weighty, and actually surprisingly stretchy! Perfect for wrapping myself up on the couch while I watch TV or a movie.
Hey man, you should consider a front load washer next. They spin much faster (approx 1000 rpm) and have a larger diameter drum. Both of which help apply much more centrifugal force removing more water. They also reduce wear and tear on clothes without having the auger in the middle pulling and stretching fabric.
7531monkey As far as I know all front load washers are direct drive. So as long as the balance rings can stabilize the load, it would be fine. Of course there are sensors to shut it down and restart if too far out of balance.
Egbert Thomas yea I wasn’t going to look it up, but I’m pretty sure front loaders still spin the fastest. The top load HE washers are more susceptible to out of balance loading and jumping around. The front load washers have more mass and are more stable.
If you have a WetVac you could put the wet blanket in a big contractors trash bag and put the tip in and suck the water out enough for the dryer. Not a home washer friendly blanket. Probably less hassle just to have cleaned or use the huge washer at the Mat.
6:52 ... I installed a heavy-duty hook in the wood joist above my utility sink (next to washer/dryer). In situations like this, I can hang things up with a bungee cord to let them drip-dry for a while before putting them in the dryer (if needed).

The size of this seems a little impractical; do they sell a smaller version of the same blanket? Did all the fur come off after the wash? Do you do laundry often? The reason the blanket was full of water was because they washer was off balance while spinning. (The clunking sound while spinning is an audible clue.) To fix the issue simply rearrange the contents of the washer so that the weight is evenly distributed. (It can happen pretty much with any load.)

If it's just about as big as a king comforter, what's the hype? And when washing we always use laudramats bigger and can wash and dry quicker.....but will usually run about 10 to 15 dollars.
Hey boss, didn't read all the comments, but didn't see anyone make a comment... During the spin cycle on any machine, if you hear the bang...bang....bang like in your video... STOP the machine and re-balance the load.... That's the only reason water was left in the blanket.... lol... Thanks for sharing!
I would never pay that much money for a giant blanket that simply two smaller blankets sewn horribly together. For that kind of money I want one giant field of blanket with no interruption. Plus I want to know how much lint was left in the dryer because I would bet an entire pillow could be made from what was probably in that lint trap.
4 years later and i just bought this for my wife after your review
I like the parts with Bailey
I am still wondering about those washing machines! In comparison to the machines available in Europe, it looks so old-fashioned.... How many cicles/minute does it in spindrying? My automatic does 1600/minute and then the wash comes out almost dry!
Bailey is the best helper, ever.
9:01 Enough said
Did it lent much on your furniture or clothing? Oh and how about the dryer?
i think the washing aspect depends on the units you have you machine seem a bit older or have it washed in commerical washer
Should have a friend from where it actually gets winter weather to do a blanket review.
I subbed just because of Bailey. She's very good pupper, deserves all the pets
