For your information the 24H2 warned me it was incompatible because of the TPM 2.0 and the setup could not be continued. That's why i installed 24H2 it on my USB Patriot drive with Windows -to-go in Rufus where Windows 11 24H2 now works great.
I tried to install 24H2 yesterday using Rufus and it didn't bypass the minimum h/w requirements. After a bit of research I used the command prompt to install Windows Server, and it worked!
Hi WCT, I have an unsupported PC, 4th Gen Intel and no TPM at all. Presently running 23H2 no issues. BUT contrary to your statement that Rufus hacks are still good, I beg to differ. I downloaded the 24H2 ISO, loaded it to a USB via the current Rufus hacks, and tested for an in place upgrade. It updated the windows files, and then said NO TPM 2.0 was present which is true. The fail message did not reflect on the non compliant chip at all. So looks like MS has developed a way to bypass the 'not to check' hack, probably by checking the TPM can load some data.
UPDATED with HARDWARE///// I did a clean install of 24H2 26100.1882 Home and when I look at Disk Management, it lists all three drives as Bitlocker Encrypted. When I go into Settings and select Privacy & security, then select Device Encryption, it shows Device Encryption turned on by default. But I don't see Bitlocker in the list of apps or anywhere else. I did find a link to a video to find the Recovery Keys. It lists four recovery keys for this PC in my MS Account, but it doesn't say which is which. Under the heading "Drive", it lists OSV for the first and FDV for the next three drives. There is no legend to say what this means. I only have three drives. Do you think the fourth key is for the DVD Drive? Quite confusing, to say the least. This is my back up machine: DELL XPS 8930 with Intel i5-9400, SK-Hynix PC601 250MB NVMe, 16GB RAM. TPM-ON, Secure Boot-ON
I did a clean install of 24H2 on my test machine where I always test new versions of OSes, and Win11 24H2, hate to say it sucks. The UI is very buggy and the system slowed down overall even with an nvme SSD. I wish I could use Windows 11, but it has high system requirements and is pretty unpolished while 10 is EOL soon, I guess I have no option other than Linux or MacOS. I've been using Linux for about a year now and it has been getting better very slowly, but I do miss Windows a little.
Strange thing happened to me yesterday. I wanted to do a clean install of 24h2. Made a thumbdrive with the media creation tool, restarted PC and the install procedure started, but arriving at the point where you can format your drives/partitions, the setup didn't recognize my C drive. Only de thumbdrive was listed... So I had to abort the operation and installed 24H2 from the thumbdrive while running 23H2... Any suggestions how this is possible?
Downloaded Windows 11 24H2 from windows update site and THE install hung at 64%. (Windows 11 Pro 23H2 installed on my Lenovo LThinkPad now) . Powered off the pc and powered back up. The pc restarted with the message undoing the recent changes, PC restarted and back to the way it was before trying to install 24H2.

I have considered turning Bitlocker on…probably won’t. Has the SSD slow down issue been resolved?

Install uses basic drivers, could be that it does not see the PC disk controller. It is weird

How long was it at 64%?
@@WCT Over 1 1/2 hrs. Then I got fed up and shut down and restarted...am still at 23H2 now.
Will I advance to 24H2 if upgrading from Windows 10 that states my machine is ready for Windows 11?
It will install 24H2
