7 years and i'm still listening to this...I miss this kind of electro, the "tell a story" type of beat that makes you imagine something wonderful, crazy, dark, whimsy, cool, frustrating, sad...it makes you "feel" the story you imagine...thank you for these wonderful tunes...

Im right there with you... its made me craft wonderful tales, live different lives, and create so many different universes. They were true and utter geniuses. Long live the M machine.

There is actually novelization of this story (by the band members) that went along with the album. There was basically a chapter for every song and it was soooo good. I have looked every couple years totaling literally tens of hours but it was taken down shortly after the Metropolis release when Andrew left. I'm sure he had his reasons, but to take something so beautiful away from the world truly breaks my heart.

Well said. this tune truly takes you on a journey. it creates such a unique tapestry of sound that literally can build an entire world around you while listening to it. few musical artists can accomplish such a daunting feat. Thank you M Machine. You don't realize how deep some of these tracks affect people, change their lives for the better even. I am forever in your debt.

How the hell is this STILL so underrated?

I know!!!! It’s so well made, such a great song, regardless of genre. It’s like classical meets EDM, and I can’t get enough of it. The quality of all the synths and tones are high quality as well.

I'd prefer it that way, to many idiots find good things and ruin them these days

I absolutely adore The M Machine. Every time I see them live I goob out and nerd out so hardcore. I don't care if everyone is watching me dance and they are all confused by the epicness that is The M Machine. It is just me and the music in those moments. Every album gets better and better and I pretty much pre in my pants every time. So much love.

The m machine really needs a movie called Metropolis. Yeah theres already one a long time ago but they really need to make another one and use their album as the soundtracks.

It sucks their novelization isn't on their website anymore. It was sick they had like 4-7 paragraphs for each song/chapter. Dark like you would expect but hopeful as well. I've literally been searching for it for years.

My second favorite M Machine song (second only to A King Alone, but hey, pretty much everything they make is golden). So atmospheric and epic, what with the pianos that start it off, then leading straight into some foreboding synth lines. Then, the production chops truly show, right at the point where the sound just bursts open- kind of akin to when you pop your ears after yawning; everything becomes airy and crisp.
Then epic laser beams... Nough said.
Then ..... Slow it down.... Bring in the outro beats. Sweet.
Then, just when you think it's over, we come to the bittersweet ending of Luna's story; techno-frogs and bugs chirping, as the rain falls on our face, the loving, caring synths carry us upwards to distant galaxies of the unknown.......
Even at a lengthy nine minutes, this song never seems to get stale- it feels half as long as it really is, it's paced so well. I never feel the urge to see when it'll be over. You feel me? Cool.

+Sam Corken Some of The Chemical Brothers albums had this effect on me, very similar at least. Thanks, you triggered some nice nostalgic feelings there! M Machine - Promise me a Rose Garden Is left ringing around your head after a couple of listens. Boards of Canada is worth a listen for that abstract, disjointed affect.

I'll probably get a lot of shit for this, but The M Machine are on daft punks level In my opinion. The music by these guys are so versatile, so emotional, so well produced, and each song is so unique. Not just Metropolis Pt. II but part I as well and everything they released before that.

Goddamn I love Metropolis. Just sucks they had to change. Not saying their newer stuff is necessarily bad, but they were the epitome of electronica for me and now It's like a completely different artist.

Just an advice if you want a song more epic, just watch two windows of this song in a the same tim with a very very little lag on one of them.
You can play with the fast of the video song.
    Supreme song
