Although I now live out of state, I still visit family in Roseville frequently. First to clarify - the church property is owned by the Archdiocese - not the city. The city would have to purchase the property from the Archdiocese. My understanding is that there is no money to make a purchase of that size. It's a shame that the congregation dwindled so much that the Archdiocese decided to close it. But that is the case for many Catholic Churches in the Detroit Archdioces. Still, it is heartbreaking to me that this church would be demolished. As many have mentioned in other comments, it could be used for so many other things, and still remain intact. Personally it has great sentimental value - my aunt and uncle were the first ones married in the upper church, my parents were married there, all of us were baptized there, we attended school there, I was also married there, and my son baptized there. A few years ago my dad's funeral was held there. A lot of special memories. But even more than that, it is also a figurehead for Roseville. I can't even imagine what Utica junction will look like with the church gone and a STORAGE UNIT FACILITY in its place. It is unbearably sad. If I had the money, I'd buy it and bring it back to life in a new form, as many others suggested. I hope that Nicole Curtis can bring about a miracle! I'm certainly praying for one.

Metro detroit doesn't need more storage space. That much space could easily be turned into affordable young professional lofts/apartments. The entire intersection is beautiful squandered real estate that apparently can only be utilized properly by the artist Gonzo.

So many memories especially the bell ringing every single Sunday wed go out for breakfast after church with our family members who aren't even with us anymore! Many many generations same thing! 😔 The cemetery behind there, sacred heart cemetery our childhood friends are buried there like our beloved best bud, Matthew Smith. It just wouldnt be right to remove the mother that overlooks it! 😔❤

this is a HUGE building, demolition must be expensive. If Nicole can help you save it and give you better ideas for use of it it will save your city money. What about a walk in clinic, a battered women's shelter, a teen rec center. Our mall was pretty vacant now we use it for community people to hold craft fairs, bring their crafts, paintings, even have garage sales. It's great for the winter months.

@@lenorecastillo805. The Bible said SuperGodSr ripped out one of Adam's ribs, then shouted 'ABRACADABRA!' and the rib turned into a human. Adam then married his own rib, and marriage was defined as a man and his own rib. The Bible said they could even make their own riblets with the help of Jesus. Then Adam’s rib couldn't stop talking so Adam went to his man-cave for some peace and quiet, thus creating the first caveman. That’s why the Bible said Adam’s ribs must be quiet in Church because men are naturally smarter than ribs!
The Bible said Adam and his descendants even enjoyed barbecuing ribs for SuperGodSr. That’s why men still love barbecuing in their backyard at their altar for their very own blood sacrifices.
The Bible said Aaron and Moses had a wooden stick turn into a living snake. After it was over, they put the magic wood in the Ark of the Covenant and saved it for later.
Geppetto was able to carve Pinocchio with the magic wood. Biblical archaeologists are able to show that Geppetto and Pinocchio survived in the belly of a Great fish thereby confirming, according to Biblical scholars, the Bible is true.
The Bible said SuperGodSr’s rocket ship sped through star-studded space, entered naive teenager Mary, while landing safely on Earth with its precious burden: SuperGodSr’s sole survivor, Jesus Christ!
A passing Joseph found the uninjured child and took SuperGodJr home and then didn't have sex with naive teenager Mary. As the years went by and the child grew to maturity, He found himself possessed of Amazing Physical and Mental Powers. Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.
The infant of SuperGodSr is now the Man of Steel: SuperGodJr! To best be in a position to use His Amazing Powers in a never-ending battle for Truth, Justice and 'The American Way', SuperGodJr has assumed the disguise of Jesus Christ, mild-mannered Sky Reporter for the Great American busybody and Town Gossip Association. They are assembled as Church ‘Space Cadets’!
At these meetings people love to give away their money to hear these Bronze Age tribal stories in the 21st Century. If a person believes all of these tribal stories that person can respawn into eternal Bliss, for a weekly donation of course.
It’s a PROVEN FACT that the night before His cruci-fiction, Jesus was in the garden praying, "Dad, DAD! Do You hear ME? Wake-up! It's ME - YOU, Jesus! What are YOU doing? I need to catch up on the latest gossip. Are YOU still helping people find their oxcart keys?"
The Bible is TRUE because the Bible SAID it’s TRUE and the Bible SAID it can’t LIE, so that makes the Bible A PROVEN FACT!
Why do these non-believers deny these PROVEN FACTS? It's as plain as the nose on Pinocchio's face. These non-believers are in serious denial of this reality. That’s why the Bible’s authors wrote with the magic wood that SuperGod is Three Pinocchios in One carved Pinocchio.
These non-believers of SuperGod need to WAKE UP! We pray the Holy Ghost 👻 will convince them BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE! Don’t let THE FINAL BARBECUE catch you by surprise!

This is not my church either, but it is a well-loved and beautiful landmark in my small-ish city, and most of us prefer it over the storage facility that is tentatively planned. So go preach your weirdness to someone else. I didn’t read all of it, and I didn’t post this to debate anyone. Why don’t you find someone else to try to start a fight with? I’m not biting.

Then they closed that church. If they are going to destroy it just to put up another Empty/Vacant building up than they should leave it alone. They have there new Garbage storage facility at 11 and Gratiot. Sure knock down the school thats in the back and make it into a Fancy Restaurant but leave the church.

Yes, I know it is a historical building and it is beautiful inside. It is one of the original 3 churches in Roseville and now the only one left is Trinity UMC, which I attend, but come on people!!!! I will also say that there is a much better use for the building and property than a storage facility. The school building and parsonage that also sit on that property could also be utilized. Why didn't she get involved in saving Parmadale in Parma, Ohio. I spent three years trying to get her to help save the most important place on earth for the healing of human suffering to be used for pet therapy TV shows where 90 % of advertising profits would go towards humanitarian life saving. The rest for Parma's horrible sewers, schools, etc. She totally ignored me, blocking my on her facebook page and other forms of resentment.
She didn't care about saving hundreds of millions of lives at the place whose influence on the world incarnated back in 1925 led to the saving of hundreds of millions of lives. A site which is scheduled to be used for a park to kill deer, cats, squirrels, birds etc . at a cost of $14,000,000 in tax payer paid grants obtained by Derek Schafer of West Creek Conservancy and Parma's Mayor Tim Degeeter who is the president of the Parma Community Improvement Corporation that now owns Parmadale.
Instead of using her influence to save the most important place in the world for the healing of human suffering, the type of orphanage her grandmother should have been saved by instead of tortured in her Detroit orphange, she chose to do two stupid homes in Birmingham, Michigan and 14 Mile Rad and then a Lake Orion Cottage all while Parmadale was being demolished and the hopes of Nicole Curtis being the one who was instrumental in saving millions of lives.

A NATIONAL POSTED APPEAL TO TIM DOBECK, LAW DIRECTOR CITY OF PARMA/STATUTORY AGENT PARMA COMMUNITY IMPROEMENT CORPORTION (PCIC) WHO WITH A FEW STROKES OF A PEN COULD KEEP MILLONS FROM DYING EVERY YEAR, VIRTUALLY FOREVER OR WHO COULD JUST LET THEM DIE AND HIS OWN RESIENTS SUFFER WHERE INEVITABLE BASEMENT FLOODING HAS MADE 11,000 OF ITS 32,000 HOMES UNINHABITABLE BUT LIVED IN ANYWAY WITH SUFFERERS NOWHERE ELSE TO LIVE OR ABLE TO SELL.
There was a place in Parma, Ohio called Parmadale. It was a Children’s Village (orphanage) . Its incarnation on September 23, 1925 brought 35,000 humanitarians form throughout the world to witness the evolution then spread throughout the world what would be called The Parmadale Model of love, care and compassion to heal human suffering replacing electro shock therapy, ice water submersion, lobotomies etc. Directly it saved the lives of 40,000 orphans. But indirectly its title of The Most Important Place On Earth For The Healing of Human Suffering and its effect on the world saved hundreds of millions of lives.
Parmadale is mostly demolished now. My 2 year crusade came to a barbaric end to have Parmadale be the site of tv shows(one show for each cottage) dramatizing pet therapy where dogs and cats would provide love, care and compassion like nuns did and it would be mostly adults with some type of suffering and not orphans called Parmadale’s Resurrection could have given the city of Parma and its school district each annually $234 million in its share of advertising profits and $ 4 billion yearly in advertising profits for humanitarian aid.
Due to tv’s copy cat nature, there would most certainly had been more shows like Parmadale’s Resurrection(as a genre called social cause tv) with the same business model and humanitarian aid, which would have brought forth enough advertising that in a few years, advertising profits not just tax dollars would provide all the funding needed so every student in the country and every resident could have the best education and services money can provide and provide for up to a trillion dollars in humanitarian aid providing funding to heal virtually all forms of human suffering.
Tim Dobeck who is the statutory agent for the Parma Community Improvement Corporation along with Derek Schaefer who is the executive director of West Creek Conservancy who at first co-owned Parmadale barbarically decided that instead of keeping millions of people in the present and hundreds of millions of people in the future from dying along with the unfathomable civic and educational benefits to every one of their residents, they would spend $14 million of various tax paid grant money to demolish Parmadale for a park in one of the nation’s worst climate, adding 2,000 dumpsters of debris to landfills, tearing down a 10 year old building that cost $10 million to add 20 acres to kill deer, cats and hide dead bodies, where in it’s first of many grant proposals section 4.3 and 4.4 clearly state that demolition and a park will serve no economic or environmental benefits to anyone anywhere.
Instead of the city’s advertising profits going to fix the 11,000 of its 32,000 houses that flood regularly or fix the potholes or provide homeless shelters for the homeless, etc. or provide such necessities as air conditioning in schools or the humanitarian contributions, finding cures for diseases to save tens of millions or provide direct aid to save tens of millions. We will have the world’s most expensive park to kill deer, cats and hide dead bodies ( a frequent concern for Parma police every time there is a missing person) because of The Parma Community Improvement Corporation and West Creek Conservancy.
Dobeck could deed over the now vacant parcels to me to rebuild the cottages as part of season one, leading the finale when the cottages are all rebuilt with the exact exterior appearance and the human sufferers finally meet up with their therapy pets to begin the healing process.
The humanitarian advertising profits from the afternoon of Parmadale’s Resurrection could provide research funds and distribution for cures for diseases that kill millions; hundreds of thousands of buildings set for demolition could be transformed as homeless shelters, free clinics, animal shelters, etc. Parma youths would no longer get horribly sick walking to low R value, old furnaces, no air conditioned schools in polar vortex and heat wave weather with too few teachers Resident would no longer get sickly living in mold and sewage waste homes, thousands would no longer get injured riding over pot holes.
Instead of tens of millions of people, maybe hundreds of millions of people being kept from dying, Dobeck, Parma’s Mayor Tim Degeeter(president and the main person who does most of the stuff with the PCIC),West Creek Conservancy, The local online and in print publications and their facebook administrators and being blocked from most facebook administrator and over 2,500 negative repliers over the last 2.5 years have made their message loud and clear. That is,
PARMA WOULD RATHER FREE LOAD $14,000,0000 IN TAX PAYER GRANTS FOR A PARK TO KILL DEER AND CATS THEN SAVE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE AND PET LIVES. A CITY THAT HAS ACTED WITH RESENTMENT AND HOSTILITY TOWARDS SAVING PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD HAS THE AUDACITY TO BE APPLYING FOR FEDERAL GRANTS TO HELP WITH THEIR MASSIVE PANDEMIC OF FLOODED BASEMENTS.
Facebookers and youtubers throughout the nation should contact Dobeck and inform them of their suffering and also contact their(or all of them through mass email functions and activists websites) congressman and senators issuing an ultimatum. UNTIL PARMADALE PARCELS ARE IN THE TITLE OF STEVE BAYT, THE CITY OF PARMA WILL GET NO FUNDS FOR ANYTHING. UNTIL PARMA AND ALL ITS OFFICIALS, FACEBOOK ADMINISTRATORS, LOCAL EDITORS AND THE PARMA ANIMAL SHELTER CARE ABOUT THE WORLD THE WORLD SHOULD NOT CARE ABOUT PARMA.
The enclosed gofundme account narrates the hatred and violence Parma residents show towards those who take care of cats who was threatened by neighbors and told by the animal control officer to stop feeding them or she would kill them. And the ward 2 councilwoman who yelled at me in open council session in 2015 regarding another tv show about pet therapy at our now demolished Parma Theater and turned into a CVS, “Over my dead body will we have a cat shelter or have anything to do with saving cats in Parma.” And hundreds of residents have yelled at me while canvassing for Parmadale phrase like “Kill All Cats” or “Fuck Parmadale and its orphans and nuns.”
Besides violent neighbors and the fear of cat haters, the biggest threat to both community cats and rescuers are animal control officers, each one of which kills dozens of community cats every day. Parma’s ACO is always seen smiling despite the barbarism of her self chosen job of mass killing. Hundreds of psychological studies have universally proven a 100% connection to those who kill cats and violent behavior towards people. For they become insensitive to violence and death and in time can’t differentiate between violence of people and pets.
What is most dangerous to everyone in Parma and now Garfield Heights, Ohio where a 79 year old woman is facing jail time for feeding cats. Is that ACOs whose days are spent killing defenseless homeless cats who hope to survive long enough to find a home and provide lifesaving pet therapy carry a gun. While those rescuers who spend thousands of dollars and hours trying to save and adopt them to save humans get thrown in jail.
There is not one measurable statistic or display in Parma’s history other than Parmadale of any concern for human or pet suffering, which is why I am doing little to promote the gofundme in Parma. For 20 gofundme efforts trying to keep people from dying of all sorts of health concerns, posted on all the social media sites yielded not a dollar. They all died, horribly from horrible sicknesses that money could have prevented. Yet, a single mailing was able to raise $150,000 in a few weeks to finish off demolition of Parmadale for a $14,000,000 tax payer paid for park to kill deer and cats.
Nor has there been any effort to remove the mayor, Dobeck, any elected officials of the Parma Community Improvement Corporation, nor close down West Creek Conservancy. Nor any public display of resentment towards the 7 millions lives who have already died due to Parmadale’s demolition and not resurrection.
