Hi Noel, just watched your security experience in Delhi. Have you flown in or out of Ben-Gurion airport? We lived in India, Pakistan, Sweden, Manila, Amman, Tel Aviv, Bridgetown, Bucharest, Sarajevo, Montreal, Damascus, Mauritania and Montenegro during our 35 years as Foreign Service personnel. Out of all of those airports, Tel Aviv was the most difficult. Of course, their security is always over the top as it should be but that just means it's really hard to get in or out of the country. I could tell you were steamed! It reminded me of myself many times!!!
Yeah, Noel, it has to be said, the airline didn't seem too bad, it was the airport staff who needed slating, and well done for doing it. With regard to the airport security staff, I have to say I've had similar experiences back here in the UK - the Stansted security staff are on a par with what you experienced here. They shout at you while you're standing right in front of them, they're self-important and won't hesitate to a) insult you/make snide comments, and or b) mistreat your belongings, bordering on criminal damage. One guy took my tray with my rucksack in it and dumped it right into my other tray with my two laptops in it potentially breaking both of them, because he was too busy shouting and being important instead of watching what he was doing. It seems power-tripping and disrespecting people and their personal belongings is the only way they can feel good about themselves. Thankfully, ego-tripping cabin crew is in decline and I see a lot less of it now than I used to, but still get the odd case.
If there was a law that flights couldn't leave early in the morning, Ryanair would be out of buisness! Thank you for an amazing year of flight content and I'm excited for 2023!

I wish you the best for 2023 and I hope that you take some time to yourself now and again for your own wellbeing - it can be hard as a man and a dad, but it’s very worth it. Best ❤
2:53 Two reasons: 1) Scanners in India are not the most modern. Most western countries have millimetre wave scanners and other such fancy tech for higher quality scans, but most Indian airports don't have such high tech at the moment. 2) The 26/11 Mumbai attacks. One of the most prominent places attacked was the Mumbai CST station, a railway terminus frequented by millions daily. That's why security is extremely tight at all transportation hubs to ensure no one gets hurt. India is under a constant terrorism threat so we can't afford to let our guard down just for the sake of convenience.
Atlanta Hartsfield had a guy do that to my bag last year. Then they started yelling at me for having to many cords. Then another TSA agent starts yelling at me for taking to long to put everything back. Finally a surpivisor came over to see what was going on. Apologized and told the other agents to go back to work. Sorry I freelance doing A/V work and have to carry a pretty good crash kit.

Once he saw it wasn't actually metal he made me pick it all up myself and was super rude, and I cried lol. This was in Alaska haha idk what his excuse was. So rude. I'll remember it all my life. To this day I still don't know why he did that. So weird
One thing they seem to get right is telling people where the seat numbers are. The amount of people I see on the ATRs not being able to find the seat numbers is increadible.
I have only been on a couple of flights that put the stress rate through the roof, incl panic attacks😮close to missed flight connections and only a couple of rough flights re the weather.,all-in-all i guess i have been pretty lucky as since i have flown around the world 3 times!.Awesome flight report there Noel👍all the best for 2023 in your travels.
Devastated because of stringent security. You’re a regular traveller, exploring a challenging country and yet you seem fazed by something as trivial as having the contents of your bag tipped into a tray!
I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who wouldn't be annoyed if they had the contents of their luggage ejected unceremoniously... Do you really expect everyone to just go along with that? Or to be expected to slip the agent a $20 bill or whatever? I know it cost him some time, but I"m glad he held fast. Honestly, that's probably the thing that annoyed him the most. The fact that he was _expected_ to pay money. Or maybe he didn't even know, idk, but still... What a terrible culture.
Been through Delhi many times. When departing, usually subjected to up to five security checks after I was in the terminal. The last is usually 50-75 feet before the boarding desk. Each time I had to totally unpack my carry on . What was going to be added between security check 1 and 5? Just Indian Bureaucracy. Same at the bank or trying to get anything done. Employs a lot of people!
Great Video Noel . Tho the day sucked you plowed threw it and ended up with such lovely views . Hopefully you got home shortly after and reunited with the family.
While I have never been to India or thorugh an indian airport I can relate to the rudeness with me working at an airport in the UK, I myself suffer with athsma and the personel at the staff search are well aware of this, and one day I took an athsma attack and was told that I would need to wait til they had scanned my inhalers, further more I asked if in future I could just carry them through and have them hand searched to which I was told "no" and so the next time about two days later when I took yet another athsma attack due to how dusty it was in the security control and I begged and eventually lst my temper I was the one that got reported, that was until the security manager came out and had a chat with me...I still hate doing especially night shifts for my airline as it's non stop through airside then back through as security depending on who you get checking you, can either be a right pain in the rear or really understanding.
Well I happened to work at one of the busiest Airports in the UK, I could somewhat guess the airport you're working as well. However, there are channels you could report the matter to ADM or BAA. I have been to India, its length and width across sadly doesn't even comparable to our customer service and professionalism.
I fly between New York and Florida about once a month, so that's a minimum of 2 flights. I don't know what's wrong with the TSA, I fly pretty often and have never once had a problem. And then I got TSA pre and CLEAR and now I barely ever have to interact with the TSA at all.
Noel isn't making it up about the airport security at India's airports, I've been to Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkatta, Vizag, and Agra, Uttar Pradesh, and India has some of the most weird TSA rules ever! Once you get pass that, you're fine the rest of the way.
my first and last flight in 2022 was the best, Kuwait airways terminal 4 to Bangkok Thailand and it was a late time (11:45pm flight time) but everything went smoothly as I arrived around 9pm which was incredible
If you want a law against 4:00 am take-offs Noel, Sydney's your spiritual home. From the relevant Act of NSW Parliament: "A curfew period starts at 11 pm on a day and ends at 6 am on the next day. (1) An aircraft must not take off from, or land at, Sydney Airport during a curfew period, unless the take off or landing is permitted under Part 3." So in summer when south-eastern Australia has DST flights to Sydney from Perth can take off at _11:00 pm_ to arrive in Sydney 4 hours later at 6:00 am local time.
The approach into Leh (IXL) is the most fantastic in my opinion. You can fly into Leh from Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh and Srinagar. Hope you try that one day.
I'm with you about the security at Indian Airports Noel, if it was chaotic, it would be a vast improvement !, I did a mega tour of India in January and never experienced stress levels like it, I managed to get on Air India's 1st A350 flight with Mr.Chui and Josh Cahill, I must have shown my boarding pass to every member of staff that day, and when we got to Chennai, I had to show my boarding pass getting OFF the aircraft !!!!, I love India but they need to sort those Airports out.
No problems with you justifiably being a tad annoyed Noel! The thing is that you gave a master class on keeping a lid on it and not taking it out on others! 👍
No worries about your little rant. I admire how you handle setbacks with aplomb whereas I'd be all bent out of shape. I must admit I was hoping you would not do a Loo Review and you came through with that wish. Best.
Yes Indian security is ridiculous. However, they do have a greater threat of terrorism than most countries. That doesn’t excuse their lack of common sense.
I am confused with the title. You title this as your worst flight but at the same time during the video you said the flight was going well, crew was friendly etc....a bit contradictory.

One thing they seem to get right is telling people where the seat numbers are. The amount of people I see on the ATRs not being able to find the seat numbers is increadible.
I'd laugh if the intro was "India - A land full of....Indians"
Shouldn't generalize Indians that way
Happy new year Noel.
Sorry to hear about that security line experience. I've flown out of Kolkata thrice, Delhi once, and Mumbai once. Never had a problem.
Thanks for all the great videos in 2022
Glad you like them!
Noel! How many flights have you taken? Have you kept count can you put a number on it?
Thank you. Happy Birthday to my favorite You Tuber.
BEEP BEEP BEEEEPPPPPBEEEEEPPPPPPP....holy crap check out that view. I'm glad you toughed it out to get to that Amazing hotel!
He is a drama queen. anything for few more views.unless he was carrying something objectionable no chance the security would empty his bag.
somebody needed to give you a Snickers Noel 🙂
🤣
I would have liked a better look around your hotel. It looked lovely
Thanks for watching!
Happy new year Noel excited for the content in 2023!
I love it when you get a bit pissed off, Ur only human buddy
Oh the suffering, it never starts😂
I fly between New York and Florida about once a month, so that's a minimum of 2 flights. I don't know what's wrong with the TSA, I fly pretty often and have never once had a problem. And then I got TSA pre and CLEAR and now I barely ever have to interact with the TSA at all.
Hopefully your hotel was a good experience at least (it looked great!). Thanks and happy new year.
Happy new year!
Don't apologise for ranting about security, it shows you're authentic as travelling can be stressful.
Love the Dunder Mifflin Inc. T-Shirt!
Happy New Years to you and your family...Thank you for sharing your flights...
Thank you, I am glad you enjoy them!
You made me laugh with the things in our industry that people deal with.
No worries about your little rant. I admire how you handle setbacks with aplomb whereas I'd be all bent out of shape. I must admit I was hoping you would not do a Loo Review and you came through with that wish. Best.
Mirinda is a soft drink like Fanta, not orange juice,no offense.
Please tour Pakistan in 2023.
Great video as always.
Keep it up Noel.
Cheers.
Very important
I've taken many domestic and international flights in and from India and never had an issue with security. Mind you, I did not fly in or out of Delhi.
So your worst flight was down to one grumpy security guard and a dirty window on the ATR?
Love the content.. I'm grateful for the honest reviews. And welcome to America.
I appreciate that!
Thanks Noel for the great videos, keep them coming in 2023. Happy New Year to you and yours.
Thanks, you too!
Happy new year Noel!
Chandigarh (IXC) is the most well planned city of India, with blocks and sectors unlike any other major city in India.
Happy New Year Noel 🎉
Happy new year!
the new air india a350 is very good u should try that
Yes Indian security is ridiculous. However, they do have a greater threat of terrorism than most countries. That doesn’t excuse their lack of common sense.
Are you from India?
@@meena9942 no
The flight was fine so? The airport experience was the issue.
