The word "Populist" should be popularized instead of this whole "Far Right" thing. This whole way of popularizing the right wing via making it seem like the side for the "working class" and the side that is opposed to "the elites" has to be seen through as the superficial veneer that it really is.
They would vote him in by landslide majority 👍 just like the American public with two functioning brain cells required to recognise an establishment political parasitic class driven lawfare campaign when they see it did🙄👏🇺🇸🇬🇧👏
What does that even mean "desensitized to populism"??? Populism is a range of political stances that emphasize the idea of the common 'people' and often position this group in opposition to a perceived 'elite'. [1] It is frequently associated with anti-establishment and anti-political sentiment. What does it mean to become "desensitized" to popular (majority) sentiment shared by the common people in opposition to the elite??? Only someone elite or financially well off, where it doesn't affect them, would be against the people sharing negative sentiment towards them Don't see how DESENSITISED can ever even go towards populism

Scottish lady I think was closest. The feeling of belonging has been growing fainter and fainter in politics (in the UK at least), possibly as politics has moved towards technocracy. It leaves fertile ground for populists even when their BS is called out. Bit like people who believe in conspiracy theories are almost impossible to dissuade.
The more I think about the result of the last American elections, the more I think people were looking for a scapegoat to punish the party in power for inflation. I’ve tried for months to talk sense into my cousins who voted for trump. What I’ve realized, is that he has convinced them over time, that he is their ONLY source for the truth or facts. They do not trust any other source. They cannot see another perspective anymore.
The word "Populist" should be popularized instead of this whole "Far Right" thing.
This whole way of popularizing the right wing via making it seem like the side for the "working class" and the side that is opposed to "the elites" has to be seen through as the superficial veneer that it really is.
Stevie. We could do with a period of 'populist' politics, to make up for the decades of destructive starangulation by the left.
People seem so lost nowadays... Most people seem to not know what to believe anymore🤷♂️
Yeah, no one believes anything that MSM puts out anymore.
Political illiteracy plus a falling in the general educational standards.
What would other countries do to trump would he be eligible for President with all the crimes he has committed
They would vote him in by landslide majority 👍 just like the American public with two functioning brain cells required to recognise an establishment political parasitic class driven lawfare campaign when they see it did🙄👏🇺🇸🇬🇧👏
James O'Brein, you're a very thoughtful, rational, logical, analyst! You do understand, very well, the issues of our times.
Second caller is spot on . We have become desensitised to populism and right wing hegemony
Only someone elite or financially well off, where it doesn't affect them, would be against the people sharing negative sentiment towards them
Don't see how DESENSITISED can ever even go towards populism
James O'Brien is asking the questions that people are afraid to answer.
The fact that many don't see what is happening, history repeating itself, is daunting.
Its called DEMORALIZATION.
STOP PEOPLE BELIEVING AND STOP CARING ABOUT ANYTHING ANYMORE.
How the heck is he going to reduce the price of groceries , no one can do that . The man gets all glossy eyed when he is with Putin or anyother dictator.
The problem with phone-ins of this kind is that the people who call don't know what they are talking about. Perhaps this is the point, so you can tie them in knots, but ultimately it is pointless.
Kamala was and is the best one for the job
💙💙💙
From the US, please help us!
70+ million of my fellow Americans DO CARE that he is back on the job .
Americans forgot what was going on in his last administration. Short memory disease. There’s nothing more important in the job you do then having experience, and now that trump has that the sky is the limit on crimes.
On behalf of Americans who understand the danger and didn't vote for Trump, please accept our apologies for this mess.
NOT a-good-person; but, the BEST man for-the-job ?? ? LUNACY .. !
Second caller is spot on. Why this whole political system is a joke
What happened to the educational systems in America and Britain?!
Psychopathic leaders never end well even if you don't know what that means
The Prince ?
The second caller... chef's kiss.
He’s the best man for the job? What job?Where is the evidence? Why?
Best man for the job😂
A failed business man/ fraudster - the best man?
This caller has swallowed most of the KoolAid....not all of it, but enough to believe that Trump is "the best man for the job".....
The more I think about the result of the last American elections, the more I think people were looking for a scapegoat to punish the party in power for inflation. They wanted a route out of inflation; there was an appeal to the demagogue's discourse. "Give me all the powers and I will solve all your problems."
Thanks for the Idaho mention. Love your show. I feel your frustration on the topic of uninvolved voters. Keep up the great conversation. Cheers.
Truth isn't subjective
This man is definitely a leave voter. What a bell end.
It truly scares me how history keeps repeating itself. How many people pay socially into charisma over truth. The US is looking exactly like 1936 Germany. Truly tragic.
Fascism-Emergency capitalism
„He‘s the best men for the job“ ok, then why isn’t everyone stressed out? The guy hasn’t started his job and everybody is already freaking out 😅
Man these justifications are so moronic think they can live in alternative reality and get away with the things they do unto others are narcissistic perspectives
Show me a man who has never lied and I will show you a liar James😊
Well, thank goodness I've never felt part of a community! I wonder what 'job' they mean when they say 'he's the right man for the job!'?
Best man for the job??😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Truth can't become more subjective
The world has gone mad. And following this can be very triggering for those with anxiety and poor mental health. For neutrals and those deeply invested it’s both scary and macabrely fascinating at the same time. Meanwhile there’s also AI to worry about. I understand why many are just ‘tuning out’.
I love that you keep hammering that point. that trump in fact tried to overthrow our democracy and people still are like but he is the best person for the job. So by that logic aaron hernandez should still be playing football he was the best person for the job at the time. Never mind the murders.
The man is dead.
0:36 "he WILL" - no, he WON'T. How come you belive his Promises, don't you see that he has never kept any, and he doesn't intend to? "The best man for this Job"? He was NEVER a Businessman, he got famous as an actor PLAYING a Businessman. Group 1.
😂
Trump is the "best man for the job"? Huh?
He said he will bring down prices. Now he has won he has admitted he cannot.
Idiocy at it's greatest, with Lewis!
Say youre a democracy....then you can do anything.
Is she seriously saying that fascism is too exhausting to fight, so just get on board?
Americans understand that its not working, the systems arent working for them. However some are financially so desperate to believe, there's thoses that were never taught to question im school, so ' he said it , why would he lie'. Is as far as it goes, there's also the teamsport attitudes towardspolitics' my guy' and daddy trump ideas. Americans are so without community outside churches, because of the most toxic levels of individualism, that trump and maga appeals to them.
Americans are being ing confronted by the fafo of voting for trump, losing family since November, realise food and eggs are not under the control of the president and some have googled what a tariff is and figure out THEY pay the excess tax on it when the idems enter America.
When Obama was first elected there was this video clip that shot around with some young woman saying that now she would get a new car and other stuff she obviously couldn't afford. The way she worded it was as if these things would just be gifted to her. Not the most educated person. People made fun of her.. a lot.
Then literally tens of millions of people vote for Trump because he'll bring the price of gas down as well as eggs. Like you said, he has no control over that. When confronted by those tariffs they pay, deaths from looser regulations, etc.. they will blame anyone but him.
Scary stuff, I do understand on some levels what he's trying to say but his position is just indefensible.
Best man for the job? He's not even the best mammal for the job!
How is Trump the best person for the job? That is nuts
Lbc might as well be the Jeremy Kyle Show
SELF interest absolutely . FARAGE Braverman Truss Badenoch . All the same ... chasing the money..
