After watching for the umpteenth time, this is still music to my ears. Sitting outside with my headphones on and almost forgot about all my problems. I need listen to southern at least once a day to feel right lol. I'm only being honest as I can.
mikedaflexta Man this is true. This band has got me through plenty of days. Whether tears or smile I get them both listening to This band.

This is a classic song. As a former band member it pleases me to see and hear when an arrangement is done correctly. People don't understand that you have to arrange a song according to the instrumentation of the group. Well done Dolls and Juke!
Flutes and piccolos just put the icing on that cake......sweet arrangement.

Crisp, sharp and passionate. And I marched for an top 5 HBCU marching band NOT in the SWAC. I am impressed.

The way play this song just makes me think of how great they can make others sound. Especially the old school ones. But I really would love to hear them play Kool Moe Dee's "I Go To Work". With those mellos, I call epicness.

the one thing i really love about these "southern bands" is once the trumpets come in, all other sections (aside from tubas, baris, trombones, mellos) are MUTED! lol :-) i love BRASS! WoodWinds to death!
If I don't listen to this 5-10 Times a week, I have a bad week.

Southern has developed a style and a sound of their own that's widely accepted throughout the nation. All of your irrational remarks will go unheard of. You all criticized and then you try to what they do but better. Do you know what that is. Just think?

I'm a su graduate. I miss my college years. I saw the dancing dolls and they not good as the girls when I was there. I graduated when doc retired.

Those brass bells have affected the sousaphone timbre in a good way.
Pray about it. Just bc your dad and uncle didn't stick with the band doesn't mean you are not going to. I hope you are applying to more than one school. See which school offers you the best financial aid package and that may narrow down the choices for you. Good luck!

@hornetboy1993 They def. got new metal bells for them, but it looks as if they're still using the bodies from the fiberglass tubas...
Famu and BCU are excellent but often when they play you dont "feel it" like you do with southern

My dad went and my uncle went...both was in the band but they dropped out...I was told that I have ni chose to go but I heard such don't really offer the money...and wut if I have the same fate they have...and ion really know to much about dey tuba but ion really like fiberbrass...but I play all brass...I jus don't know but time is winding down because this is my senior year...decision time...wut should I do?

Man, I'll admit it. I've been quite critical of SU's musicianship in past years, but yall are really sounding good. Maybe it's the brass bells on the sousas lol. Anyway, yall keep it up. You're turning this LSU band alum into a fan.
