This movie is a perfect representation of Indians' attitudes towards marriage and their expectations. Girls like Veronica could be a good lifepartner too. They just need someone to remind what it's like to have someone to love. Someone they'll love more than themselves and you would do anything for them. Personally, every girl is seen the way typical stereotypes look at Veronica at some point. I personally love this character. All girls can relate with her. My all time comfort character❤️✨.
I love these two. Meera was also treated like shit by her husband.
On top of this, Indian mothers neither check on their son's character nor teach equality to their sons but they judge girls' character and they have extreme conditions and expectations. And they find a typical homely and innocent girl for their sons.
Moral of the story: Indian women's lives are and always gonna be screwed. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Movie character played by Saif and Deepika, both are good for nothing as a life partners
Meera should have dumped Saif and gone ahead to live her life. Even if Saif married her there is no guarantee he will not cheat on her. He will marry Meera but want to sleep around with many other women. There are too many men like them in India itself! Being married brings nothing other than humiliation.
There is no one better than saif to play this type of role

Wow. Rewatching the scenes after years and now I realize how problematic the scenes and Saif's character in the movie were.
I havent watched the movie nor do I get anything from these scenes. Can u describe what you meant ?
@@mickeyagrawal2001 The movie is called Cocktail and I had loved the movie when it came out back in the early 2010s.
About the scenes, I mainly meant the starting scenes in this video. Saif's character was shown ogling the air hostess and it was meant to be funny.
Replace Saif w any normal guy and you'll realize that this is basically work place harassment. No women, I repeat, no women likes to be looked at in that way in a workplace setting.It makes her feel downgraded to just an object to be looked at instead of considering her as an individual doing her job.
The second one is the airport scene where Saif sees Diana, finds her pretty and does the whole 'tum mujhe nahi janti" thing. This scene was supposed to be humorous.
But honestly, if this exact thing happened in real life, it would be an EXTREMELY uncomfortable experience for the woman in question. It not funny, it's downright creepy.
I m sorry but I didn't watch all the scenes in the video after that. I just think Saif's character was a playboy who fooled around w Veronica( Deepika Padukone) and then suddenly realized that Meera( Diana Penty) was the wife material and fell in love w her. Veronica was termed as the ' bad girl w loose character' but I did not see any redemption for Gautam( Saif). He got the "good girl" in the end.
@@mickeyagrawal2001 I am not saying that men cannot check out women. Ofcourse they can. Infact women check out men too. But not at the cost of making the other person uncomfortable. And ogling at someone in that manner, specially in a workplace setting is serious no no.
I know, it's just a movie after all, but these movies have tremendous reach. Young girls and boys copy their behaviour and think they are cool. But believe me, it's not fun when it happens to you in real life. You have no idea how traumatic it is when some boys ogle at you , send creepy texts in the name of flirting.
All I mean to say is, I hope Bollywood starts treating women characters more seriously and not project stalking scenes as romantic or humorous. Movies like Piku, Masaan etc. were amazing tbh. I just want more such movies to be made that reach the common masses.
