Thank you for making this video about our country's metoo movement. Still many people mock at this "feminism wave" happening now and try to refuse it by keep denying the facts that have to be changed. But we feminists know this movement won't stop and we'll try harder to change this country

    Way to go, Pros. Seo!
As a radical feminist, I support you and countless South Korean women who simply want to live life with dignity and freedom.
I wish you all the best.

I the same. Same as radical feminist I support all againsts on any kind of gender assault or injustice. It's not about negotiations or requests, but about the campaign against the men supremacy all around Asia, where the patriarch culture is so serious 😔

For everyone, korean and non korean, watching this video: korean men will soon flood the comment section of this video claiming ‘Men are equally discriminated’. The poor reasoning behind this claim is always the same and forever repetitive, so I want to summarize everything to save everyone’s time.
Reasoning 1. Men serve mandatory military service.
    - While discriminatory, this is not a byproduct of sexual discrimination in society. It is mandatory because of unique geopolitical climate in this country (still in war until recently). It is only men that serve as predominantly male government officials and legislators have made it so.
    - If men wish to change this, they should start a campaign to change either one of the two conditions (mandatory, men only). Vote for legislators and parties that claim peace with north korea or women co-serving. But wait, isn’t this what feminist parties are doing?
Reasoning 2. Top tier women’s colleges / law schools exist, and men aren’t allowed entrance.
    - Korea’s further education system allows colleges and law schools the autonomy to choose their students like most countries. As a result, elite military/police schools still have a fixed quota of more male students than female. If you think #1 is discriminatory against men, why not try changing this first? Oh but most korean men don’t want women here... because girls don’t have what it takes to serve the army right? See the irony with #1?
    - All women only colleges are founded with purpose to provide college education for Korean women, because until very recently in korean modern history, they were deprived of such an opportunity. Now we are at a stage where women attend college at similar rates, but that doesn’t mean these colleges have finished serving their purpose. Schoolgirls are voicing their sexually discriminating educational environment, such as male teachers and classmates verbally harassing/raping them.
    - In addition, in labor, social, economic aspects, i.e. after-college stages in life, women are still far from being treated equal to their male counterparts. Come attack this comment if you must but the prosecutor in this video sums it up pretty clearly. ‘You’re as good as a male prosecutor’ is the best compliment a female can receive at the workplace.
Now come bite all u want

She will, I would say, that inspires girls who are under similar situations to voice and defend themselves from hurts. We will absolutely be more determined and energetic in fighting against gender assaults and injustice in future. 💖💖

Imagine....all that rote learning to pass an exam, then short skirts & tight blouse to head in the direction you want to go; realising all-along that your level of attractiveness is/was an asset that waned and expired 23 & 30 years of age, respectively. You'd do all that you could with what you had in the assessed time you had, and then blow a discrimination/harassment whistle regardless of how far you got.

I am not well informed on this at Korea but I know that in some instances the Metoo movement has backfired and has caused more harm to women than support.

@@OjaysReel have you heard of Sargon of Akkad? a youtube political commentator by the name of Carl Benjamin. He makes great content and its real eye-opening, like getting red pilled. He gets labeled as a conservative when in fact he is a centrist right.
Anyways Carl Benjamin has a second channel called The Thinkery there in this video linked below he talks about the backfiring of the Metoo and feminists movements. Enjoy and please send feedback this way.

The #metoo movement also tries to infringe the 8th Amendment because they want "guilty until proven innocent"
Edit: the 8th Amendment is a right to not face cruel and unusual punishment

I do sympathize with her agony and support what she is holding up but it is quite disappointing to see a prosecutor of a nation, elites of the elites, cannot even express herself in English..
Kudos for speaking up, though could have earned more international support for the movement otherwise.

    • @OjaysReel
      @OjaysReel 6 років тому +28

Can the "English" express themselves in any other language? It says a lot about you when the only thing you can find fault with her sentiment is the language she expresses herself in. Hardly worth a quibble, if you're still tethered to the illusion of colonial grandeur.

    • @minakim8831

This is another valuable specimen of korean men for studying COLONIAL MASCULINITY. It does not look pretty.
BTW YOUR WHOLE COMMENT IS FULL OF GRAMMATICAL ERRORS
'support what she is holding up' --> to hold up means to remain strong and vigorous, not fight for
'elites of the elites' --> because you said "'a' prosecutor', this should be written as 'elite of elites'

@@OjaysReel I agree with you and respect your perspective. Though I dont really get what you meant by the first sentence because I believe the phrase is commonly used. Could you elaborate more on that? Or was it the use of quotation ("English") made the sentence awkward? Thank you!

@@minakim8831 I appreciate your criticism. Actually quite impressed by the ingenuity in coining a word("Colonial masculinity", in capital letters). Really. It made me reflect on my view and where it came from. Also thank you for the corrections! Normally for that kind of quality grammatical feedback I should have paid some money. Thanks!
