@@livingartdesigns06 Sad to hear that. I knew N.M. He was a very good pilot. Always hate when an aviator has "Gone West". It's even worse when that individual is a friend. He wasn't the first and won't be the last. May God rest their souls.
@@livingartdesigns06 As did I. I grew up in Albuquerque, learned to fly balloons in Albuquerque. My employer transfered 25 people from Albuquerque to Phoenix in 2009. I miss Albuquerque very much and despite its issues, I'd go back in a minute IF THERE WAS DECENT EMPLOYMENT THERE! I did know the pilot. He was not only a great guy, he was a very good pilot with thousands of hours experience. I don't want to speculate on what happen here. The FAA and NTSB will do a thorough investigation and in about 18 months the results will be announced. I offer my sincere condolences to his family and the Albuquerque Ballooning community.
@@livingartdesigns06 the term "Gone West" refers to an aviator who has pass away. Ballooning is a close community(especially in Albuquerque) No services have been announced but If at all possible, I will make the seven hour drive from Phoenix. Thank you for your comments, I know they're heartfelt.
NOT the deadliest balloon accident in history nor the deadliest accident in Albuquerque. That was in October 1982.
I remember that ... They NEED to get their facts straight!
