According to his various band mates, Elvis would always spend 2-3 hours before each recording session singing gospel & other songs, telling jokes & stories, etc. to relax the band before starting recording sessions. RCA was not happy with his approach but there wasn't a darn thing they could do about it as Elvis was by far & away their biggest talent & the source of their biggest record sales. James Burton has said that it was always fun rehearsing with Elvis because he made it that way by 'mixing it up' with them. James later went on to play guitar for John Denver who he said was the exact opposite - very much on point and all business. Elvis always encouraged the band to be innovative & he allowed for them to shine on stage by sharing their individual talents with the audience. Quite a remarkable artist who despite his great fame, always remained humble.
Elvis produced all his shows! He's the one that had the chorus come in when he wanted. Also he could tell if a bad note was hit and by who.Even though there's a conductor for the orchestra,he told him where he wanted the horns etc. to stand out!
It’s always enjoyable watching Elvis in rehearsal, & yes, the band is watching his every move & can switch things up in a split second, they are that much in sync with him. Thanks for this Reaction.
Elvis was The Master of the Stage and he loved his fans like no one else has ,he always just had a great time rehearsing with the entire family of The Band and I have always said just what you said , Elvis was not just the singer,he was the producer and conductor and all the group had to follow his lead , cause you never knew what he just might do next , also he was.not a show hog ,he gave credit to the entire group and always introduced the entire group to the audience , it's just the Respect that Elvis was instilled with as a child , Treat others the way you want to be Treated and he Never forgot about the beginning of Where he came from and what he had to do for his mother and father, he remained the greatest humanitarian his entire life and looks like he was on the Right path. Great reaction to the world of Elvis who the whole world loves forever and Always TCB 1935
Great video. Thanks. Elvis Presley really was a very gifted musician. No wonder his musicians liked to work with him. I noticed that, even during rehearsals, Elvis moved his body all the time!
I would love to have sat in the control room if not the actual studio, and watched Elvis perform. He put as much effort into the studio sessions as he did on stage in front of the audience, see the way he moves his whole body and his facial expression shows the emotions he feels for the words of the songs. Then he suddenly engages with a band member and grins at them
i just love your content rene thank you for always being such a positive & informative voice in the elvis community always coming with the facts & no bs gossip type crap ♡
I could watch the rehearsals all day too...amazing watching how everything comes together...brilliant!!! Ronnie Tutt and Elvis were perfect together!!!Thank you for your in depth reaction..
I just found your channel , so I subscribed and am going to go back and watch all your Elvis videos. I’ve been a massive fan of his for many years. Not a better singer I’ve known. Thanks for shining your love of Elvis light to all of us. He was a perfectionist. I’m not sure a lot of people have ever realized how brilliant he was. Never having any formal musical training, he has such an ear. They said he could pick up any instrument and just start playing it. 😊😊❤🎸🕺🏻🎸🎤🥹❤️❤️
Molto bello ! ❤❤❤ Grazie
Hi Rene .Once again a great video from you .I love Bridge over troubled water one of my favorites ! Love those rehearsals aswell. Your doing great job at keeping our memories of Elvis with us ! God bless you ❤
Hi, my first time on your channel, and finally I'm hearing someone who's noticing some of the things that most don't seem to be aware of. Thank you! In regard of the rehearsal of 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' we are only seeing a fraction of the rehearsal, but notably, as you pointed out he can be seen and heard to direct and arrange this cover of Simon & Garfunkel's great work, so as to totally transform it for his chosen style, and arrangement. We notice how he tells the backing singers to come in after the final verse for a crescendo build at the end and close out. When we watch the 1970 live performance of this song, we learn how he graciously chose in his arrangement, to start the the song with just his vocal and the piano accompaniment, and gradually we hear more musicians gently join to slowly build the performance, almost like he would introduce each musician on stage so as to acknowledge them, only this was achieved simply in his arrangement, allowing us to witness each musician/s contribution, and please do notice also that all through the performance the backing singers stay silent until he has sung the last lyrics, and in the performance video, although poorly lit on the stage, we se how he looks back at The Sweet Inspirations and The Stamps Quartet, to confirm that they are to join now whilst he stays silent for their crescendo end, as he gesticulates with his hands and arms how they deliver the fabulous build finalé. He gives the finalé to his backing singers ! Such a gracious man in his consideration toward his band and back-up singers! Thanks again for this. T UK.
Holy cow, that’s a lot of text but I’ve read everything and there’s not one thing that is not accurate. Very well said, thank you very much!! I’m impressed
You can see Elvis hears all the parts in his mind. Its magical to watch. He's ahead of everyone else. Yet he still is part pf the group
He had a fantastic ear for music. That in its self was a gift never mind everything else about him.
I love all rehearsals from ELVIS!❤ He had music in his whole body and he was perfect in every way! ❤ Love your reaction! ❤
