1.4 million suppressors at $ 200.00 each is $ 280,000,000. That is why they will never be removed from the NFA. ATF and big Gov will not give up that money.
Imagine what the numbers would be if there weren’t barriers between a potential owner and a brand new can. I’m talking about the government introduced barriers of process and tax.
I totally agree with you. I like NFA items, and I have been dealing with them for about 25 years. Throughout that time, I have heard the same thing over and over about the tax and regulations. At this point, you either pay to play or you don't. Yes, NFA items shouldn't be taxed or regulated, but we also shouldn't have to pay so much in income tax or sales tax, especially since a huge portion of our taxes are supporting other countries. There is not much we can do about either.
I will wait until I can buy these as easily as the firearm itself. I refuse to pay a $200.00 tax to the government, for a right, when that same government once said, you can't tax a right, referring to voting. Which is less of a right and owning firearms and accessories, as far as I'm concerned.
Pro tip: the NFA ONLY applies to dealers and manufacturers. As an individual they can't control what you do with your personal property. For a long time they've been able to convince the general population that they have authority over private citizens and very few actually read it 😂
WOW ! So that adds up ! So 4,857,897 @ $200.00 tax stamp = $971,579,400.00 So after close to a Billion Dollars of B.S. tax when do we get a reach around.
Suppressors are any type of device that muffles the sound dampens. The sound reduces the decibels of the sound of a weapon, which should be absolutely mandatory in order to protect your hearing.
Should be 2 guns per person in your household should be 100% tax deductable. With lights, optics, slings, and suppressor included. And 1000 rounds for each weapon included. In other words if you owe 50k in taxes and you spent 30k on guns, then you only owe 20k. Guys I'm totally serious here.
We’re achieving unprecedented levels of winning here we have the house, the senate, the presidency, and a pro 2A AG Matt Gaetz who alongside VP Vance wants to abolish the ATF or has at least talked about it. But even I feel that’s a tall order. I like where your head is at though
I'm waiting for the day when we can FINALLY have REAL "Human Rights" when it comes to Self-Defense and our Health. "Suppressors" should be SO LEGAL that near EVERY GUN should actually BE a "Suppressor" ITSELF. In other words, the Barrel etc. is actually designed to "suppress" sound. In other words, so we don't have to "add" one to a gun. We have a Right to "Safe Hearing".
I haven't had the opportunity to pony up for one yet, also hesitant to even get on that nfa list they keep of everyone who has one. I feel that is 1 infringement too far for me to want to do.
realize that they already have one. Admitted to bu Dettelbach before Congress. He also stated that they pay extra for the option to not access the database. uh huh?
@@ecrogue4496 being in an illegal database 'registry' Isn't the same thing as being on the nfa registry. One instance the law reads you must be listed. In the other the law states that it's illegal for the government to keep such a database.

They also stated they could not confirm my identity and would have to supply my own background check whatever that means. Also took 13 months to get the tax stamp refund.
Yep that is me too. Fixed income and bidenomics makes it impossible for lower income to get them. If deregulated we can make then ourselves and the price of factory made should come down too
If you saw what shops pay for cans, you'd be pissed at the shops that sell them. 50% over cost to the retailer is common. I can't even imagine how cheap they are direct from the manufacturer to the distributors like SS and Allen.
What I've always wondered is why, two different states have my fingerprints on file, as well as the county sheriffs departments which issued my licenses, the FBI has my fingerprints from a background check when I joined the navy, and they still can't figure out how to ask the fbi for a copy and ask them if I'm still a decent guy.
So the big news is that lots of people own suppressors? That isn't news. We've known that. Sure it's good for the suppressor industry and normalizing suppressor ownership, but it also represents a massive revenue stream for the government. The ATF thanks you for your generous donations towards keeping them funded. I don't see what's worth celebrating about this. Celebrate when the NFA is repealed.
@mcarpen89 the thing is when they become "in common use" they are required to fall off the NFA registry. And the common use standard has been as little as 300,000 units in the past. (I.e. tasers becoming common usage in court)
@@bumpin8833 I'll take you at your word on that and my rebuttal is that it doesn't have to. Revenue is revenue and if a department is bringing in a lot of revenue then there's motivation to keep it around.
If deregulation happens people wont be buying suppressors as much. They'll make their own for $40-50. Prices from manufacturers will remain constant or reduce over time.
I felt this. When the “suppressor boom” started I went ahead and finally pulled the trigger on the SF RC2 I had been wanting and it came back approved less than a week!
@robertlyman9789 I don't see that happening anytime soon, unfortunately. Brandon Herrera, appointed to ATF director, is our best chance at getting our freedom back right now.

I HIGHLY recommend getting the electronic fingerprint file! You can take it to your dealer on a thumb drive as many times as you like. This means getting your fingerprints ONE time. Last time I bought a suppressor it took 3 days to get the tax stamp total.

I dont own any NFA items because of my current living situation. I dont think deregulation will happen before I get that resolved, but its still likely to be a close thing.
Right now, decent suppressors are still too expensive, and adding a $200 tax stamp on top of that just pours gasoline on a burning fire. Then there's the issue of crossing state lines on top of the add-on BS of transporting in a vehicle, use in defensive situations, local laws, yada yada. Then, there's the multi-cabiber issues, muzzle devices, and adapter issues. Last, what is the likelihood of the ATF showing up at my door if I have tax-stamped items versus if I don't.
I own one for almost every gun I own. In fact I own a few extras for some guns because I was dumb when I first started buying suppressors (much like I was dumb when I started buying ARs). I started buying mine about 8 years ago....back when it took over a YEAR to get the tax stamp.
They're worried because 300,000 tasers were considered "in common use" by the courts. Now there is absolutely no reason suppressors should be in the NFA and regulated.
I’m not sure that logic tracks. Though I agree they should just be able to be bought off the shelf (so should any gun,) I can’t see them correlating common use to deregulation. It will help prove common use in states that outright ban suppressors.
I submitted two Form 4's in October. Takes longer with my gun trust, but should be approved any day now. Got two SBR's to register soon as well. The process through Silencer Shop is dead easy once you've got everything set up.
I can attest to the quick times being approved. I've bought 4 since January. 2 of them were approved in 24 hrs. 1 approved in 48 hrs and my last one that got approved yesterday took 12 days.
I could certainly use help with my suppressor issue. I have done this twice with the same suppressor and they have told me each time that they couldn’t determine anything and I’ve had me re-file twice in a row and I’ve never even given me my money back.
I'm in the UK and I own multiple .22 suppressors. There are unfortunately restrictions on who can sell, but not who can buy and some companies even deliver directly by getting every driver registered as a licenced firearms dealer.

New Jersey: "You can't have that wish, Little Bear."
Remember, the government can't take your rights, the people have to give them away.
4.86 million silencers, that are on the books...
Suppressors are any type of device that muffles the sound dampens. The sound reduces the decibels of the sound of a weapon, which should be absolutely mandatory in order to protect your hearing.
we have to have mufflers on cars, trucks tractors and even air tools......
The number would be much higher if our rights werent being denied in certain states (NY, CA, NJ)
sounds like a common use item to me, should no longer have to register or pay tax.
Sad but true. We’ve given them 300 million dollars in taxes this year.
Militia supplies tax deduction. All arms and accessories should be 100% tax deductable.
💯% agree
Taxation is theft
While I do not see it ever happening, I am however on board.
I'm at 80 days waiting for an e-file w/ digital fingerprints... Meanwhile I'm hearing some people get approved in 1-4 days.
dang, that's a lot of compliance.
We have a Right to "Safe Hearing".
well, I can not afford to pay the stupid tax, let alone buy a suppressor. so until its legal to make your own, I'm out of luck. living on s.s. SUCKS.
Pay the tax and build your own then. Form 1
If you are that money tight, what would you do if an appliance died or you have a big car repair bill?
I was going to wait until they were not regulated and finally said no and gave up my finger prints. I now have my suppressor and am so happy.
I haven't had the opportunity to pony up for one yet, also hesitant to even get on that nfa list they keep of everyone who has one. I feel that is 1 infringement too far for me to want to do.
Exactly. The $200 extortion pisses me off.
The forever listed on a registry keeps me from allowin the extortion to truly piss me off.
Totally agree
realize that they already have one. Admitted to bu Dettelbach before Congress. He also stated that they pay extra for the option to not access the database. uh huh?
If you’ve ever completed a 4473 you’re already on a list, Dettlebach admitted that. Yes, the $200 is BS but the “list fear” isn’t a logical argument.
@@ecrogue4496 being in an illegal database 'registry'
Isn't the same thing as being on the nfa registry.
One instance the law reads you must be listed. In the other the law states that it's illegal for the government to keep such a database.
I applied for a suppresor the old way by filling out the paper work. Took them 1 year and 7 months to deny my application because i used the word suppresor instead of the word silencer. They also stated they could not confirm my identity and would have to supply my own background check whatever that means.
Also took 13 months to get the tax stamp refund.
I very much want 2 suppressors but at 800 and 1200 for the 2 that I want, I just can't rationalize it
Just dont say that while having multiple guns that do the same job.
I Still have 2 pending. 16 1/2 months now. I’ve written 2 emails and they keep saying they are “delayed”. Infuriating
Either way, I'm stuck until I can afford one. Its a friggin tube. A tube.
@@stevelyons2744 you could always make your own tube.
Yep that is me too.
Fixed income and bidenomics makes it impossible for lower income to get them.
If deregulated we can make then ourselves and the price of factory made should come down too
@@willardlentz3044You CAN make them yourself, you just have to submit the paperwork before you build. Form 1.
@@willardlentz3044it’s going to be way worse under trump, so you better start saving now…
If you saw what shops pay for cans, you'd be pissed at the shops that sell them.
The $200 doesn't go straight to the ATF.
@@bumpin8833 I'll take you at your word on that and my rebuttal is that it doesn't have to. Revenue is revenue and if a department is bringing in a lot of revenue then there's motivation to keep it around.
Woohoo I did my part.
Mine took over 1 year to go through.
my first time, i bought 3 cans ! all on the first time early this year lol
Once they are affordable and don't require permission, then I'll get some.
I'm not giving the government $200.
If deregulation happens people wont be buying suppressors as much. They'll make their own for $40-50. Prices from manufacturers will remain constant or reduce over time.
I added 3 data points to those numbers this year... Let's make em common use!
I felt this. When the “suppressor boom” started I went ahead and finally pulled the trigger on the SF RC2 I had been wanting and it came back approved less than a week!
I bought 7 in the last 3 year. There’s still a few more that I would like to add to my collection.
I hate hearing about these super short wait times when I've been waiting 3 months for a suppressor, and waited almost a year for another last year
I wont get one until its not taxed or registered. Its common use now, time to remove them from the NFA.
Remove the NFA
@robertlyman9789 I don't see that happening anytime soon, unfortunately. Brandon Herrera, appointed to ATF director, is our best chance at getting our freedom back right now.
It is absolutely insane that a $4 item got a $200 tax in 1934. Let freedom pew!
Wish I could in the Peoples Republic of Illinois
As a Kommiefornia resident I feel you. 😢
You will be able to, methinks, sooner... than later, finally. However, SCOTUS does need to hear and get get rid of "AR" Bans and mag limit bans+, coming up! Also, the Federal Government, and it looks like the time is close, to pull The Supremacy Clause, using the National Guard and Federal Agencies... to Force Baronies, like "Pritzker's IL," to comply with Rights of the People!
Can’t afford any Cans at the moment but will buy some when I can.
When can I have one in NY? lol, never mind.
@@dakotalucky13 same here in CA of course
I HIGHLY recommend getting the electronic fingerprint file! You can take it to your dealer on a thumb drive as many times as you like. This means getting your fingerprints ONE time. Last time I bought a suppressor it took 3 days to get the tax stamp total.
I would love to have a suppressor for my rifles, but I refuse to be treated like a criminal and get finger printed. This violates my right to privacy, property, and the constitutions.
They were going to vote 2 different times for the Hearing Protection Act…
1 time the Republican baseball game was shot up that morning
2nd Time… Las Vegas shooting happened day before
@@KM_1983 what a terrible coincidence
They had all three branches of government before. The hearing act should've been passed in 2017.
Absolutely 👍
Duty so right I was one of those people that were like I'm going to wait I'm going to wait I'll probably never actually buy one I don't want to be on some list blah blah blah blah blah I now have more than I ever thought I would own and I'm glad I got into the whole NFA side of firearms and I would never turn back
Dang thats $280,000,000 in 2024 in tax stamps! Its going to be hard to overturn that
Head rolls, eye rolls, hand movements and suggesting we pay for a Right says it all about him/them.
All of those purchases created a lovely registry for future.....
That's what I've been saying. IF things go really sideways, be prepared because you're their first stop
If shit goes really bad you have to give it up……so what? That possibility isn’t worth not having for me.
@theeasternfront6436 who/whatever gets them inside your house ...
A) youre already on a list
B) _the guns are for fighting the govt in the first place!_
@@ALovelyBunchOfDragonballzWe may all be on a list, but sending all your info and fingerprints into the ATF puts an asterisk next to your name lol
I dont own any NFA items because of my current living situation. I dont think deregulation will happen before I get that resolved, but its still likely to be a close thing.
Well, I've been waiting over 60 days for the two I bought in early September. Not all of these take "3 days" $2500 sitting in the back room of my FFL.
Id like to thank all of you suppressor owners for your sacrifice of willingly putting yourself on a registry.
Lol.
Purchased a suppressor locally on a Saturday. Had it in my hand on the following Tuesday.
You Know, in France we buy suppressors like candy! No paperwork! No Brainer! Just buy it! 😂
Last, what is the likelihood of the ATF showing up at my door if I have tax-stamped items versus if I don't.
well done everyone seriously it warms my heart to see this!
1.4 mil X $200 tax = way to much for the ATF
Thank you for the charts. Makes much more sense and easier to visualize.
Love that bubbly grapefruit lol. There should be no restrictions on any firearm or accessories it is the foundation of our nation.
They made the process two streamlined now every suppressor is out of stock😂
I bought two in the last two months. One took 5 days the other 4 days. Not bad for my first time getting extorted by the NFA.
I'm in the UK and I own multiple .22 suppressors. There are unfortunately restrictions on who can sell, but not who can buy and some companies even deliver directly by getting every driver registered as a licenced firearms dealer.
WooHoo! I purchased 2 in the past 6 months and 5 in the past 2 years. Go and get yourself one or three, they're great.
I'll buy one without the extortion fee.
Nj gun owner here. Let’s go!
We could get Brandon Herrera as the ATF Director.... I bet he could figure out how to fix the ATF.
ATF is going away.
