The "loans" issued between central banks are not really loans. The European central bank prints money and "lends" at very low interest rates (almost 0%) to Governments in Europe.
This way everyone can be in debt to everyone else, but no one really had the money to lend out in the beggining. The price is paid by European savers, who lose the purchasing power of their money and are forced into speculation on the share market, property etc.
It's all basically a legal form of counterfitting.

The real issue is a sudden aversion to borrowing which has destroyed market confidence and stalled the world economy.

@Brettah31 Thats not a regulation thats an idea that is hard to implement. Whats even funnier is that it wasnt a lack of regulation, it was TOO MANY regulations. With a central bank, the system doesnt work if money isnt worth anything. The REGULATION was to print money so these investment firms could go out and leverage it up. It was to force these banks to give unqualified applicants cheap loans through easy money in the name of social justice. Your country survived? What country sir??

You can buy OPEC oil only with US dollars.
How can you get US dollars if Americans doesn't need/buy anything from you.
There is only about $900 billion paper and coin dollars.
There is about $14 trillion dollars worth of credit supplied by banks.
There is about $55 trillion dollars in total debt, again, supplied by banks.
What backs the dollar is the faith that the $14 trillion dollars will some day pay the $55 trillion dollars (plus $217 trillion dollars derivatives contracts) off.

suffering because of the billionaires, not the people trying to explain why the billionaires are ripping us all off.

@@TK-ee1wx If you took every billionaire and took all of their assets, magicallly turned them into cash money, you could fund the government for about 6 months.
      Then what?

@@edwardheaney3641 The point is to not let billionaires mooch off everyone else - they don't really add a whole lot to the economy anyhow - I mean the individual billionaires not the companies they own - those add alot to the economy.
