Anniversary specials remind me SO much of awards shows.
Oh man the smile on my face seeing John Ritter!
May he rest in peace. It's hard to believe 7 months later he would pass
MJ
Look at me, scanning this video for matrix reloaded stuff!
This was how ABC celebrated its 50th Anniversary with their own TV reunion, 6 months before CBS celebrated its 75th Anniversary on CBS at 75, also with their own TV reunion too. And too bad you do not have CBS at 75 available, but "As Time Goes By" sure does play as its Warner Bros. Television Fanfare since 11-03-2003.
That time the previous year NBC had their 75th anniversary special. Would love to see that.
Oh I cried when John Ritter died 😢 I have this and the ABC memorial special they did for him, on the same video tape.
I will forever be misty-eyed when I see Mr. Ritter in performances of television series and movies--mainly because news of his passing came to the world as an utter SHOCK. If you agree, raise your hand.
Stay safe, and may God go with you.
MJ

its been whole *15 long years* of *golden Jubilee of ABC* its Awesome & phenomenal to adore such things on UA-cam
We lost so many giants who made ABC what its today & they'll be missed. *RIP ALI,HOWARD COSELL, JOHN RITTER* ☺
Bob Saget R.I.P.!!!!!!
Barbara Walters
There was a part that was an inside joke. At the segment that had Henry Winkler, and Laverne and Shirley (Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams),Penny commented about working in TV is like working with your family. This was the inside joke. Her brother Garry Marshall created Happy Days and the spin offs L&S,Mork and Mindy and Joanie loves Chachi. RIP to the Marshall siblings.
Her dad Tony Marshall was a producer and her sister Ronny Hallin was a writer.
Duh.
The same year when ABC & ABS-CBN celebrated its 50th year of television.
Jr Seau, Alan Thicke, Peter Jennings, Florence Henderson, Frank Gifford, Jim McKay, John Ritter, Adam West, and Keith Jackson R.I.P
William Diemert Don’t forget Dick Clark and now Peggy Lipton.
Press F for Keith Jackson...
Even though he wasn't included my dad figure and childhood bob Saget and also Barbara Walters and Robin Williams too
And Barbara Walters and Hugh Downs
Thank you so much for posting this. I've wanted to watch that TGIF part ever since 2003 when I saw it.
Richie, 3J, Gwendolyn, Kelsey, First OG Morgan Matthews and Angela were watching the 50th Anniversary while they were in the 9th Grade Freshmen about to become 10th Grade Sophomores 15/16 years old the next year.
Note here: ABC-TV counts its creation from the February, 1953 re-organization with United Paramount Theaters, NOT its actual start of network programming in Spring, 1948. Yes, "Ozzie and Harriet" predates the network's 'birthday!"
So does Mary Hartline!
The best actor...Richard Chamberlain 💋 The Thorn Birds ❤️🧡💚💖🌹
I couldn't believe that Richard Chamberlain was gay!
To think that four months later, the wonderful John Ritter would be taken away from us.
Juliaflo and a year later poor Dick Clark would have a stroke
John Ritter from Threes Company died in September 2003
And set designer Bob Keene died that year; the ABC 50th Anniversary special was dedicated to his memory.
And Gregory Hines who was featured in a segment with Sammy Davis died three months after this aired
HOW SAD HOW FAST LIFE CAN CHANGE.......
The Drew Carey Show and Spin City now air on Laff.
Laverne & Shirley and Happy Days now air on MeTV, as well as Batman, Wonder Woman, The Love Boat, and The Brady Bunch.
ABC should have started this special by running their early-to-mid 1960's opening for color programs, in which the letters "a", "b", and "c" move across and then anchor themselves over a black ball.
I got this on tape too,my favorite parts are Brady Bunch,TGIF Line Up,Family Matters,Oprah,Wayne Brady,Emmanuel Lewis,Levar Burton.
[2:24] You have to be really bold to put someone like Andrew WK and Blink-182 on your anniversary celebration show.
Drew Carey later hosted the Price is Right on CBS Daytime
He still does. I watch a lot of these vids on UA-cam. Many people who were with CBS or NBC were also on ABC or vise versa.
I recorded this on my tape and still got it.My favorite part was TGIF and Family Matters cast
I still have it on tape too 📼 no VCR anymore. Glad to find this.
JordansMom769 I still got my VCR because I had videos from the 1990s and still got it.
They should have had more of a tribute to the ABC Movie of the Week. I'm glad that Duel was mentioned, but there were so many more wonderful movies under that umbrella.
i got my start on abc movie of the week with dinosras 5 girlfriends later heee hee
xxxxxxx
ove it a lot
for a friendship with one Michael mouse
and me
They Totally Left Out TV Shows.
Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea.
The Time Tunnel.
The Invaders.
Land Of The Giants.
Kolchak The Night Stalker.
Battlestar Galactica.
They Should Have Shown More Clips Of
Dark Shadows As Well...!!!!!!!!
If Bill Cosby had his stuff pulled from TV then Woody Allen should as well
To think, channels on UA-cam like FailArmy are a thing today, thanks to shows like America's Funniest Home Videos.
Thanks so much for posting this! I've been looking for it for years! :D
The WV Network I am glad he posted this too. Been wanting to watch this
2018 marks 65 years since acc went on the air

Do not be stupid! We all care about ABC!
I saw this on TV years ago.
Family Matters and Step by Step moved ABC to CBS in 1997.
By then that's when Family Matters hit an end, I wish there was a Season 10 but since it moved to CBS the rating went down and it was the end
Glad to see this posted
Awesome Awesome Awesome!!!
May 19, 2003 a Week before Memorial Day, we had Raider Rally Day through Awards Day 2003 I was about to Passed 7th Grade going to the 8th Grade but I didn't had an Email Address Yet, SNES9X emulator or the Sega Genesis as well until 2005 and 2006.
These commercials on this program are now nalstalga.
This year, ABC turns 70 and 28 under Disney.
Este año, ABC cumple 70 y 28 bajo Disney.
Happy birthday to the American Broadcasting Company!
RIP Adam West
The old days of network TV
Do you have new year's with Dick Clark ? Please ?🙏
Wonder Woman moved to CBS to 1977.
No Bob Eubanks Jim Lange and Monty Hall. These are the people that saved ABC. They weren't invited for the Celebration.
@2:51:11 what was the Dark Shadows moment? I've only recently discovered this classic TV show.
Wow No Clips of Growing Pains or Webster or Anything But Love with Jamie Lee Curtis i was around 14 going on 15 watching this and its a shame they dont have those clips
I'm disappointed that we didn't get more Growing Pains.
@@ddjmfan yeah
I saw the black and white version of Bewitched 1964
How come they skipped the 60th anniversary in 2013 and will they be doing a 70th anniversary in 2023?
Does ABC's 50th Anniversary Special have any clips from McHale's Navy, That Girl, Family Feud with Richard Dawson, It's a Living!, Head of the Class, China Beach, Thirtysometing, Doogie Howser M.D., Life Goes On and Boy Meets World?
Strange--there was no special telecast honoring ABC's 60th anniversary in 2013.
Request: Tostitos Fiesta Bowl 2003
Did you cut out the roots segment?
RIP Ali
Where's the Brady Bunch reunion in ABC's 50th Anniversary Celebration? BTW, is that the complete video?
Thomas Mulligan I wonder that too.. the roots segment looks like it has been cut out
I just saw the Brady Bunch reunion. It's in there.
Welcome
Do you have NBC's 75th anniversary from 02?
I wanna see that, I saw most of it in 2002 but didn't see the whole special
So do I I saw clips of it
Me too
Mention "The Winds of War" but not "War and Remembrance" which was way more epic. 🤷🏻♂️

ABC BACK FEBURAY 09 , 1953
Interesting that in the Happy Days family tree section having members from the 3 other shows, they didn't manage to get either Robin Williams or Pam Dawber to make an appearance on behalf of the Mork & Mindy branch...both could've been busy of course, but on reflection, both of them were pretty p.o.'ed with ABC for how they jerked the show around and dealt with them, so maybe its not too surprising.
Do you by any chance have the NBC 75th anniversary special from 2002?
NBC
Where was the 70th last year?
ABC's 50th Anniversary date is kind of wrong, it actually celebrated it's 50th anniversary in 1998. ABC made it's first televised broadcast in 1948.
2:54:48 what show was that?
Calling fire
Was that Earle Hyman in the audience?
Earle Hyman is best-known as the voice of Panthro on the original ThunderCats animated series.
And as Grandpa Huxtable in the Cosby show
Abc no
# 1 Show
Did you cut out the rest it looks like it had been edited
Their was a on odd cut on the Gabe and John segment.
