Generally alpaca stretches quite a bit (knitter here :) ) so that’s why they’re blended with a synthetic to help them hold their shape and not stretch out.

The silk midi skirts do have a generously-sized, hidden-elastic waist that is super-comfortable, not restrictive, which is one of the many reasons I love them. As I got older, my waist thickened, but my hips and thighs didn’t, and most other skirts are really tight in the waist. Most women around my age, 50s-60s, have this, too; a very defined waist is an attribute of only young women, it will change even without weight gain. Those with very small defined waists might want to size down in these skirts, if their hip size will allow it. If not, the waists can be easily and cheaply taken in. A silk skirt of comparable quality, like that from Reformation, runs about $200-250 and up here in the US (I buy those, too, because I like their prints, but ouch, the prices)!
I love Quince! I have several of their cashmere sweaters, and for the price I find them comparable to J.Crews standard cashmere pieces. The linen pieces also 👌🏼 I like to wear the linen pants slightly cuffed, and belted with a blouse that’s French-tucked - I have crazy long legs so the cuff makes the cropped look seem more deliberate on my frame. And the silk midi skirt is a 3-season staple! You’re making me want the grey one now.

I’ve been happy with all my Quince items, especially the silk skirts, which I got in several colors. My only criticism is that the tops are too wide in the shoulders for me. I have to size up to fit my bust, then the shoulders are enormous, but this isn’t unique to this brand, I have this problem a lot. The brand has wonderful quality, the value for the price is amazing.

You’re welcome! The cotton/merino blend cardigan has a little bit of wear but haven’t noticed any pilling on the alpaca knits x

Love your reviews so much! Couldn't click on this one fast enough because I wanted to know your thoughts on the brand and specifically wear/tear. I am wondering if there is a discrepancy in how the styles are labeled though...? It seems like the fourth sweater is actually the Mongolian Cashmere Fisherman Cardigan rather than the cropped alpaca? I noticed there is a difference in how many buttons each has. Just wanted to clarify as I love that fourth sweater and was considering purchasing, but want to get the right one that you show on in the video ;) Thank you!

Thank you for this video, it's one I've been looking forward to! Do you notice a difference in quality or softness between the various cashmere sweaters you own from Quince? Which is softer, the cashmere or alpaca from Quince? How does the quality of the cashmere compare to Everlane? Thanks!
It's funny, when I first read your comment I thought, I'm sure they all feel about the same. I went and double checked and while they're *all* soft and not scratchy, there is a little difference in how plush and squishy each one feels. I don't know if this is a difference in the colour (as I have different colours in all styles) or style. I forgot that I also have the cashmere rib cardigan. That is the plushest. Then I would say the $50 cashmere.
Hmm.. it's hard to say between the cashmere and alpaca but the alpaca has more "slip" under the fingers when I run my hand over it which is down to the fact that it's blended with synthetic fibres, too.
I did a whole video on the best basic cashmere knit sweaters, and the Quince one came out on top in terms of value for money. I find that the touch and feel of the Everlane cashmere knits varies depending on the style and if it has recycled cashmere. If memory serves (my Everlane cashmere is in storage right now due to our Reno), I think the Quince ones are slightly softer. I do think that the Everlane has some slightly nicer and more interesting sweater silhouettes though (ie. I prefer the fit of theirs). I hope that helps?

However, I think the cardigan you are wearing at around 4 mins is not the baby alpaca-wool cropped cardigan, but rather, the mongolian cashmere oversized boyfriend cardigan sweater (?) I'm going off of the US website but the ivory looks a bit different. Is the one you have from a few years ago?
I believe it is the non-oversized version of the boyfriend cardigan

Hi Amelia, I have the same waist measurement as you do :) I suspect there are probably some subtle variations in the banding even within the same size (can be up to an inch I think) which would explain why my XS and S skirt fit differently x

Hi Mora, yes Alee is right. Price is in USD. I mention a couple times in the video that I used mail forwarding in order to make my purchases (which can be an expensive exercise). I’m hoping they’ll start shipping to Australia soon 🤞🏻

Hi. I’m definitely going to try the cashmere zip up hoodie and sweatpants but I’m wondering your opinion in general…do you find Quince to be equal in quality to JK?
I'm so sorry for the delayed response here! So, Quince does a half zip in alpaca which is a similar cut to the JK one (which is cashmere). To me, for that exact item, the JK one is miles ahead, part down to the actual fabrication but also the way it fits. The neckline sits more nicely and also, I find the zipper is smooth on the JK where it tugs on the Quince. For the Quince dupe of the JK cocoon, they're similar. I think enough so that if you had to choose, you'd be happy with the Quince one as it serves the exact same purpose. The JK one is ever so slightly thicker and more plush, but not in a way that I think is going to change your life if you didn't have it, if that makes sense? Overall I think the quality of Quince items is really fantastic. Unrivalled for the prices that they're offering and a really good alternative to some of those more expensive brands.

I used to buy naadam but it would pill within 2-3 wears… I seriously kept buying and buying them having to throw it away.
Quince is great value for money - I think their $50 cashmere crew is such a steal.
One thing to keep in mind is that it's normal for cashmere sweaters (or wool sweaters) to pill! It's not a sign of quality and in fact is just part of the wearing process. Eventually the shedding does decline, but all you need is a fabric shaver or wool comb to get them looking like new again
@@mademoisellejaime you would be surprised; my Loro Piana Cashmere sweater that’s about 10 years old has very little no to no pilling! I just don’t want to spend close to $1-2k this time around! I’m looking for something mid to low range that’s of quality but I guess there nothing really in that market that lasts

Hi! Yes absolutely - I am 172cm tall but have a petite length inseam (long torso, shorter legs). I feel like their oversized pieces aren’t comically so. Much more of that intentional slouchy fit and they have plenty of cropped options too x
