Tbh, almost everything could have been just avoided if Azura could have just gathered the Nohrian royal family except Garon when she showed Corrin the "plot device that shows what Garon really is but breaks after one use", then plan to overthrow Garon instead. . Actually no, conquering the entire land of Hoshido just for Garon to sit on the "plot device throne that shows what Garon really is" seems like the better idea.
Lol even when the reveal does happen, the siblings have a dramatic meltdown and refuse to fight him. I was just like ??? I adore the gameplay but the story is straight ass. 😂
It's kind of funny because the Nohrians couldn't even really call bs on the orb if Azura did show them it. Since Azura could say, "Leo, hold this." I mean, the writers still would have had the Nohrians cry bs, probably because WOW would this grind the conflict to a screeching halt.
Lilith's Heroic Sacrifice comes across as incredibly contrived, as they come completely out of nowhere (despite almost never being seen outside of My Castle) to block an attack either from a random mook you've just killed dozens of or a boss you've both watched get curbstomped by mooks and later curbstomped yourself, and instantly die in one hit despite in all likelihood being ridiculously durable in-game. and don't get me started on Flora's death on Birthright, which was hilarious than sad, hence why players are reacting with laughter and memes rather than tears.
You forgot the part where Hans plays Dynasty Warriors with a bunch of prisoners and innocent civilians in Cheve and Corrin just goes along with it like a good little Christmas elf.

It had wicked gameplay, depth and for the most part the maps were pretty fun and playing on Lunatic was the most intense FE experience I've ever had. Conquest has a good story if you pretend alot of things happen differently. Such as when you return to nohr in chapter 7 you just skip the dialogue and use your imagination until Chapter 29 *notice how the game ends at chapter 28(endgame)

Ever since you told me you were working on it, I knew how amazing this video would become, but by gods if you did not completely outdo yourself on this one. This review of Conquest is simply too good for Conquest. You’ve put more thought and effort into reviewing and making fun of this story than the developers ever did writing it.
I don't know if that is an excuse for them. Look at pokémon black and white, it's an interesting story with grey area villains that actually makes sense, and pokémon has a younger target audience than fire emblem.

You know, we all joke about Hinoka being an absolutly irrelevant character in Conquest, but I get the feeling that it is just as bad -if not worse - in Birthright and Revelations. She joins you at some point - and thats it.

The gameplay really isnt that special for a fire emblem game in my opinion, but I think conquest is the best of the routs. Nevermind - not buying the game and playing POR or SS instead (or even Giadain (sorry for spelling Butcher)) is the best route.
The real problem is a feel like the plot as a whole could have been great...but it wasn't. I mean I do like most of the characters, flat or not, the world has some potential and Corrin does have some good moments, but other things like the curse were stupid...also for the curse Corrin and Azura can apparently get to Valla whenever they want via water, why can't Azura just pull Corrin inside, explain everything, and the two of them can start working on convincing everyone else the basics.
If we're following that logic then, I must be possessed by the Devil himself since I have a fiery hatred for Corrin/Kamui as a character and he is by far my least favorite FE Lord (if we can even call him one) that he replaced even replaced Roy at the very bottom! I hope he suffers more in the chapters I have to beat in Revelations next! Sorry if I sounded like a generic angry person on the internet there, I've been storing that rage since Birthright (my first play through). But seriously, it's nice to see other people who also dislike Kamui after going through two and five sevenths play throughs of Kamui worshipping.

But if you or anyone else want to know why I hate Kamui here's why (again I'm sorry for sounding like a generic angry person on the internet): To start off, aside from what side he must choose in chapter six, Kamui makes no serious decisions that you, the player can make, in the game's story, aside from either sparing or killing Shura off in Conquest. It gets worse when ever he is being pressed into making one, the conflict resolves itself like with the Rainbow Sages dying as Iago is forcing Kamui into killing him. Next he's an idiot as he (and I guess the rest of his companions at the time along with Garon and Iago) doesn't recognize Azura as the dancer on stage despite her disguise being a recolor of her normal attire with an added veil over her mouth (he's also a bad tactician according to Leo in their B-support which doesn't bode with me well as he's suppose to be me and I pride myself in being a tactician).

Honestly, Heirs of Fate is the best plot in Fates. I never really liked the plot of the main Fates, but loved how it played so much. Love the derp Felicia face as well.
Too bad the second generation characters were pretty much a waste just because that feature was so liked in Awakening. There are times when certain concepts and ideas work well, and at other times it won't be accepted with open arms at all. Shadows of Valentia showcased that yes, even with a remake you can avoid 2nd gen characters and still pair people up.
I believe this properly captures the majestic train wreck that is Fates. Stellar gameplay, wonderful support convos, but dat plot doe. The part where no one recognized Azura had me banging my head against the wall, and I think exemplifies the amount of stupid that was forced upon the characters in order to justify certain plot points. Also, grats to Corrin for being even more of a Mary Sue than Robin. (ps hinoka is best girl how dare u)
+JK Gamer I see the confusion here. When Biscuit said "Rally Man" he wasn't referring to the capture able boss in chapter 9 (I wished I knew that before. Whoops.), he's referring to one of the Master of Arms you can capture in chapter 23. On lunatic mode (the mode that Ghast played) those guys are insane, they have FOUR rally skills (I believe they have Rally Strength, Speed, Defense, and I forget what the fourth one was)! If you can capture one, even on the lower difficulties where they don't have them all if I remember correctly, they are an amazing addition to your team at this point in Conquest.
jared fayette Rallyman is a specific Master at arms on that chapter with 3 rally skills, strength, speed, defense and resistance, whereas on hard, he only has 2, i think its strength and speed but im not sure

He seriously needs to be in an other game. He's a great character, in my opinion, but his supports and other things don't really say much about him. WARNING-SPOILERS KINDA And the fact that if you play birthright instead of conquest, and you get to the chapter with Leo and his retainers, Corrin had a different Nohrian childhood. What I'm saying is that if you fight Niles with Corrin, they talk about how they were like brothers to each other. I don't know about Odin though. And from what I've seen in Conquest, Corrin didn't know Niles before. Correct me if I'm wrong. If you know.

Drason Vender I blame Radiant Dawn, at least Roy becomes God tier after obtaining the Sword of Seals. I really couldn't be arsed with the shifting perspectives in Radiant Dawn.
This was my first fire emblem game. I had a fun time trying to play the game not knowing how to do strategy. The only few things I remembered were fish dying being funny even with no idea what the plot was, the staircase level, and the game still being tough on the simplest difficulty.
shura seems like the only ACUAL Character (aka he isnt a gimmick) in this game altho he dosent get enough development kinda like radiant dawn characters where they are acual characters but dont get enough development
Having just beaten both Birthright and Conquest... Birthright is clearly the option the game wants you to pick outside of Revelations. First, everyone in Nohr is almost completely dickish, and really just come across as "we aren't killing you because our whinny brother told us not to"

That was beautiful, ghast. I loved how extremely faithful it was to the old Fire Emblem fan, but damn the story is just laughable. The story is as bad as Awakening.
Tony Power Faithful as in they actually gave a damn about map design and gameplay. Story in some aspects too, but you can see how Intelligent Systems was trying to win back the respect of the pre-Awakening fans.

This game is dumb as hell, and I love it so so much. The plot gives me a good laugh, I love the Nohr cast, and the gameplay is actually fun. Would I have liked a better story for all 3 routes? Yes. But I had fun, and that's all that matters in the end.
despite some of The plot holes I really enjoyed the story allmost as much as awakenings! Cant wait to see what this great long running series has to offer in the future!

Honestly, Heirs of Fate is the best plot in Fates. I never really liked the plot of the main Fates, but loved how it played so much. Love the derp Felicia face as well.

Too bad the second generation characters were pretty much a waste just because that feature was so liked in Awakening. There are times when certain concepts and ideas work well, and at other times it won't be accepted with open arms at all. Shadows of Valentia showcased that yes, even with a remake you can avoid 2nd gen characters and still pair people up.
I believe this properly captures the majestic train wreck that is Fates. Stellar gameplay, wonderful support convos, but dat plot doe. The part where no one recognized Azura had me banging my head against the wall, and I think exemplifies the amount of stupid that was forced upon the characters in order to justify certain plot points. Also, grats to Corrin for being even more of a Mary Sue than Robin.

+JK Gamer I see the confusion here. When Biscuit said "Rally Man" he wasn't referring to the capture able boss in chapter 9 (I wished I knew that before. Whoops.), he's referring to one of the Master of Arms you can capture in chapter 23. On lunatic mode (the mode that Ghast played) those guys are insane, they have FOUR rally skills (I believe they have Rally Strength, Speed, Defense, and I forget what the fourth one was)! If you can capture one, even on the lower difficulties where they don't have them all if I remember correctly, they are an amazing addition to your team at this point in Conquest.
jared fayette Rallyman is a specific Master at arms on that chapter with 3 rally skills, strength, speed, defense and resistance, whereas on hard, he only has 2, i think its strength and speed but im not sure

This was my first fire emblem game. I had a fun time trying to play the game not knowing how to do strategy. The only few things I remembered were fish dying being funny even with no idea what the plot was, the staircase level, and the game still being tough on the simplest difficulty.
I can't wait to see what you do with Birthright and Revelation!

Having just beaten both Birthright and Conquest... Birthright is clearly the option the game wants you to pick outside of Revelations. First, everyone in Nohr is almost completely dickish, and really just come across as "we aren't killing you because our whinny brother told us not to"

I enjoyed playing through Conquest, Clearly the storyline, and the whole game for that matter, was flawed but it did captivate me to get into the Fire Emblem series that I never bothered with before that. I'm happy this video exists because it brought me a great laugh. so, thanks!

Tony Power Faithful as in they actually gave a damn about map design and gameplay. Story in some aspects too, but you can see how Intelligent Systems was trying to win back the respect of the pre-Awakening fans.

This game is dumb as hell, and I love it so so much. The plot gives me a good laugh, I love the Nohr cast, and the gameplay is actually fun. Would I have liked a better story for all 3 routes? Yes. But I had fun, and that's all that matters in the end.
