hi I'm megan and I'm debt free! I started my own journey around the same time you did. I paid off 23k as a single mom in 20ish months!!thanks for sharing your journey!! thanks from 🇨🇦
What I admire most about you guys is that you made sacrifices and did it together. Many married couples are so selfish nowadays and aren’t willing to compromise or work together for the betterment of the family. May God continue to guide you both and bless your marriage. You both look happy.
Not only are you debt free, but you are both healthier both physically and mentally, which that in itself is huge. And, you appear happy and in love. I congratulated you before, so here is another. Congrats
Went through this when we were younger, and we’ll never go through it again. It is one of the hardest things to go through, as an individual and as a couple. But when you reach that debt free day, oh man, the relief is amazing, and you realize how strong you can be!! Congratulations on this empowering step in your lives! ❤️

Great job! I paid off $38,000 in Aug. Most of that was from remodeling my house over a 11 month time frame (8/2020-June 2021), and selling the house Aug 2, 2021. All I have left is my car, Amazon, and new mortgage (moved to another state).
It would be wonderful if you guys saved up for an entire house without a mortgage. You were able to pay off $100,000 of debt in 20 months with interest. I reckon you could save $100,000 a year for 4-5 years and buy a home in cash in a few years!
If you guys read this just know this is the video I needed to get my butt in gear. It’s been hard to stop using credit cards because those points seemed so tempting. But seeing you all can do it is honestly so motivating and I have been binge watching all your videos to learn to budget and grocery shop. So thank you for all you guys do because you all have literally inspired me to change my lifestyle.
Congrats again and please please call Dave Ramsey. I’m sure he would love to have a return caller. I love the growth and knowledge you’ve gained. Getting a house without credit score is doable. Sometimes you’ll be surprised that it’s not as a huge hassle as people make it seem. Also don’t let no one push you not to go that route if that’s the route you want to go. Realtors would discourage you or make it seem like it’s super hard.
Congratulations!! I love how much you have grown over the past couple of years! It's so good to see this weight of debt off your shoulders now. Thank you for sharing your journey and encouragement to the world!
I love how genuinely happy you both look! You are both radiating happiness & glowing. Your relationship seems happier together as well (at least from my perspective of the videos 😊). Thank you for the inspiration!!
I'm sure you guys already know this but even though they are de-activated doesn't mean they are closed. I would have suggested calling and closing the account, waiting on the confirmation it had officially been closed and then cut them up. If the account is still open they will send you a replacement card when the ones you just cut up expire.
So happy to hear that you guys don't have to worry about debt anymore (I almost typed "debut" instead of "debt", it's been one of those days LOL.). Hope you guys can stay debt free now!
Don't forget to call the car insurance and remove the car note as an "interested party" or whatever on the vehicle. Bonus if there is a rate drop for owning the car free and clear.
cool vid, tagline should read...."All credit cards were harmed in the filming of this video". Great job getting debt free. My wife and I also completed our debt free journey in July of this year. Great feeling.
I have to say my husband and I are on our way to be debt free and I can’t wait! When we do you and Katie will here me shouting from the mountain top here in Kentucky! Lol So thank you for sharing all that you do, it’s truly helping others...
Budgeting Tip - Pre plan your main meals a week in advance, and shop accordingly to what you need. Check out Jordan Page's UA-cam channel. Don't buy meal plans, they cost more per plate then what you could make and freeze a week in advance.
I crochet and have been looking for a reason to continue crocheting. I plan to crochet Afghans for the people affected by the hurricanes or tropical storms. I’m not planning to send them for a year. No one is ready for a Afghan yet.
All my bills are medical bills. I have no credit cards and pay cash or do without. I’ve been eating peanut butter for 2 weeks. I’m a nurse in a nursing home, single. Car note car insurance and live in an apt. So very discouraged. 61. No retirement. Love nursemarla
I am on my way.....however still have a mortgage. Almost down to only owing my car. Yes it is sacrifices..but feels so good when you pay off items!! The excitement is priceless! Thank you for sharing your journey! From Montgomery al
How do people get mortgages approved without having existing lines of credit? When we applied for a mortgage, my husband and I had zero debt, very high credit scores, paid our modest credit card bills off each month, had more than enough cash for a 20% down payment, plus oodles of savings, investments, ample income etc. BUT the lender almost didn't approve our mortgage because my husband didn't have enough lines of credit--he only had two credit cards and they required he have three lines of credit. Luckily I was able to get one of my credit card companies to add him on. It was ridiculous. If we'd come to the table with zero lines of credit and no credit score, it would have been a no go.
We also had no debt or loans when we applied for our mortgage. With just two credit cards we had to get copies of a years worth of electrical bills to prove we paid it!
Interesting! I’ve bought and sold several homes the last 5 years and my husband and I have had only one credit card for 10 years. If they were a smaller lender with more stringent rules for risk management, that might have explained it?
@@lolipena8051 that’s what I was thinking it takes at least 7 years for stuff to fall off so unless they are planning on waiting until their credit score does fall away they should still have a credit score to buy a house with. Especially if they leave their oldest credit card accounts open but lock the cards like she said.
@@jesmeyer732 good point. The issue is some banks/companies close the card after x amount of inactivity. I’ve seen 4 months. Which then it’s worse on the report to show a company closed the card versus you closing it (different codes on the report). Per their video I think they will go with underwriting/process of no credit score to buy their home. Which is not as hard as people make it out to be. I’ve seen people try to discourage you from it all the time. But it’s truly not that much of a hassle.
Does anyone use a budget app that they love? I’ve always done hardcopy by hand or spreadsheets but I’m ready to try something on my phone. I’m Canadian if that makes any difference. I would need one thats very editable and customizable.
I always thought it was best to have one card to use for things like airline tickets and hotel reservations. Would you now just use your debit card that you use for your monthly bills?
This is so true and I hate when this advice is given! Because sure it starts out as groceries but quickly morphs to so much more. I suggest for anyone starting out to put a static bill on a credit card like phone or internet.
Hi ! Katie and Cullen, I'm wondering if you get notified if someone writes a comment that comes in later after you post a new video. OR do you go to the video itself to see if maybe a lot more comments have come in since you looked the first time ??
How much of a portion for green chef, would we need for 2 adults 6 kids? I've tried it before ,long time ago. But don't know how much we got per portion
I can't imagine a world in which they stay debt free considering their debt was paid off through nefarious efforts. They took out small business loans during covid that were supposed to be for people that were suffering; not for people that bought too many mercedes and golf carts. These two will quickly dig themselves back in the hole they started, but no worries, their privilege will get them out.

I know other people commented before, but Katie’s hair looks so good and healthy.

“Hi I’m Cullen and I’m debt free!” 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻. Love it!
Iam happy for you two! I worked a second job in 2018, paid off $23k in debt. However it took me almost 2 years.
It’s okay! You still did it! That’s all that counts.
It's taking our family a long time too. We have paid about 50k in about 3.5 years
@@lolipena8051 it was my goal before my daughter started college .. ❤️

Great Job guys!!! And thank you for sharing the journey. So Proud 🤗
Literally all the meals in your box were the one I got last week. I am so proud of you guys!

So proud of you for your perseverance! You were blessed and now you want to give back. Way to go!
Clicked so fast!!!! Been waiting! So happy for you guys
I really really enjoy when you all talk about debt and finances, it really helps me stay focus in my life thank you

Woohoo that’s amazing!! I am trying…. And just got started late in life
Just think of all the interest you will save by paying cash on everything! Enough for a good down payment on a house I bet.
I love your videos. I’m been here since the Alabama ice storm. I hope you continue posting UA-cam videos.
I haven't watched the whole video yet...but if you do a followup: How has your credit score changed since starting your your debt free journey?
It will eventually be zero. Since a credit score just shows how good you are about handling debt. Idk how theirs is right now or what score they had.
Thanks to you two I was able to pay off one credit card and will be paying off another one soon
