I have build several ESP32 spectrum analyzers but this is my new go to.... great video, many thanks... Is there a version that uses direct audio without the need for the mic?
I have some running here too - Such a great effect. All mine are Mic-ed, I'm still looking for a suitable (A.K.A. Cheap) Analogue to Digital Converter myself. - I mean there are plenty available but nothing I could recommend.
I have the same INMP441 digital mic attached and same settings applied but the geq like sound reactive presets are every time flashing with out any sound (the effects are not reactive to sound) even after all same setting like yours
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. Yes, once WELD is setup you can use JINx quite easily, I have it setup here atm - I haven't tried LEDedit thou. Here's me testing JINx running in to WLED: instagram.com/p/CsH2FskNTQC/
I noticed you left the "LR" pin on the mic unwired. The diagrams I've seen show that going to ground. Any reason you didn't connect it to ground and any issues as a result?
@@3ATIVE Got it! The wled documentation specifically says to NOT leave it disconnected, so I was curious. Not using it, simplifies the soldering for sure!
Oh yeah.... I never read that WLED post. Here's what I found on the INMP441 Datasheet: "Left/Right Channel Select. When set low, the microphone outputs its signal in the left channel of the I²S frame. When set high, the microphone outputs its signal in the right channel. "
Good morning great videos Question: Which software do I have to flash for the esp8266 and on which pins do I have to solder the microphone on the esp8266? Kind regards
Guten Morgen Herr Jan, I use "ESPHome Flasher": github.com/esphome/esphome-flasher/releases As for the pins on an ESP8266 - I have not tested on that but, the Mic is digital and my guess is you can choose any that are not boot pins.
@@3ATIVE Good morning, it did not work with the esp8266. Good day legend. Have you made any progress finding a good diffuser? i've managed to get far enough that its time to deploy but im struggling to find a nice finish for the matrix.
And a good day to you too fella. No, mine are still 'raw' on the desk. I did look at some grease-proof paper: amzn.to/3nCeD1i Which I planned to adhere to some black tinted perspex: amzn.to/42akNVs - But, never went any further.

Hi there, great video. How do i enter the password for the wifi? which wifi password and how do i set the esp32 to my own network? i have tried via my phone with my own pw for my own network but it wont connect :(
Hi, Thanks for the feedback. 👍 To connect to your own Wi-Fi, simply go in to the WLED APP on your Phone at IP address: 4.3.2.1, then the settings are via: "Config" > "WiFi Setup". There you will find "Network name" and "Network password", Simply add you details there then hit the "Save & Connect " button. - If entered correctly you should now be able to control WLED from it's new network IP address, for example: 192.168.x.x
🎶Don't forget: All the tools and "Stuff" I use can be found in the Video description via the Amazon Shop Link.
Is there a link to the mic?
Ignore my lazyness.... click the Amazon Link!!! Haha
WOW ... and without needing to write any code ... awesome!
I know right - We LOVE WLED.

There's a couple of ways:
Make a Text line longer than 32 characters, or sent it a non-standard character.
