Bc if any other person would be in her shoes they probably would’ve done the same. Like why would theygive up on a good life try to stay ethical and “pure” to go back into being a slave??? Also the story barely points out all of Naviers mistakes. It makes her look good, but in reality she isn’t “the best”. An example is that she doesn’t talk about her feelings to keep her empress image safe. Idk what my point is 🥲
