If ad blockers didn't exist the internet would be unusable
💯I'm amazed that people still don't realize that ad blockers are available and easy to use. The internet is a garbage dump without one.
@@KenHarrisio worst part is seeing my teachers (I study IT), and fellow tech people not use one.
I mostly stopped using the Internet a while ago in favor of YT / Discord / Reddit. But as of last week, after hearing about adblockers so much with the YT stuff, I've decided to give in and just use an adblocker. :-/
@@splatinkI think lack of knowledge is part of it and the other part is probably because of the shaming tactics. I remember years ago when there were people saying that it was theft to use ad block and I still hear it every now and then. I strongly disagree with that though. The real theft is being bombarded with 20 minutes of ads for an hour of content and the ads contribute nothing useful for a person's life.
@@jonmichaelgalindo How are you liking the experience of having one now?
I've been watching several videos on web browsers. Your video is by far the best I have seen. Right to the point and your views are fair. Thanks
I just exported all of my FireFox bookmarks in HTML format. I then went into LibreWolf & selected Import Browser Data/Import bookmarks. It took 5 downloads from FF before I got an HTML file that LibreWolf would upload. It kept telling me "no bookmarks in this file," though, after all these years, without bothering to trim out the dead wood, there are hundreds. Finally it took them as well as forms & other things I had NOT selected to upload. PITA.
does the mullvad browser use the tor network and therefore also slow and shouldn't be used for stuff like banking and general browsing?
Nope, the Tor network was taken out but everything else was left intact, so you get the other privacy benefits that the Tor browser offers.
Does Mullvad hide system specs like Librewolf does? I can’t find any info on this so I assume it goes without saying?
I ran some fingerprinting tests through Mullvad and FF on a couple different services. Mullvad hid way more info, though it did still show the OS. I remember one of the reasons people liked Mullvad a lot was because of the extra fingerprinting protection it has over other browsers like FF.
@@KenHarrisio Thanks for the quick reply boss
dude mullvad already comes suggesting their vpn and their dns lol just think about this
Which is good for both private and performance? Mine is low-end device. I hope to hear your suggestion.
Brave has been a great browser for privacy and performance. Firefox is good too but Brave seems to be faster. I have a ten year old computer that handles it well.
how should i watch UA-cam to seperate stuff more for privacy?
If you watch without being logged into an account, any of the good options like Librewolf or Brave work great. You could go a step further and make sure the site data is automatically cleared out every time the browser is closed by tweaking the option in settings or using private windows. If you are going to be logged into an account, you would actually be fine to just use an option like Edge or Chrome and could just use the browser specifically for watching YT and not doing anything else.
At last someone that I agree with. Awesome Tier. love it. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
??? How do you rectify the TIME (clock) that LibreWolf shows on various web sites (ebay, amazon etc.). It is never the correct one.
That's actually a feature built into the browser to protect against fingerprinting. You can turn it off if you want though. Type about:config into the browser address bar and navigate to the privacy.resistFingerprinting option and set it to false. Just keep in mind if you do this, it's a big impact to your privacy. My personal preference is to use another browser like Firefox for anything that needs a login and use LibreWolf for things like casual browsing.
@@KenHarrisio Thank you. That finally helped me. That's it. I like the librewolf the most and that was the only issue I wasn't happy with.
Have a nice day. Cheers!
you shouldnt.
How would you rate The browser qwant?
I'm not keen on using their stuff. The company has been involved in privacy controversies over the years and the government ties really top that off.
you should do a part 2 with floorp browser(firefox with edge tab ui customiztion),thorium(degoogled),ulaa browser(chrome but way secure)
Also Arc Browser
how is website ads a Chrome's problem?
We will have to keep an eye on Firefox, or rather the the company in charge. There is some really questionable stuff happening in there, such as them buying advertising companies.
Thank you for all your insight 🙂
No problem, I'm glad you liked it!
There's also Midori Browser as another Firefox fork to try out.
How woud you rate the "Ghostery"-Browser?
Janky and buggy mess. It is pretty good for privacy though.
For privacy, I think it's probably okay. It was crap under Evidon, though I question the intent with the new parent company.
Are there any good browsers that aren't forks of chrome, firefox, or safari?
trident engine 😬 aka internet explorer
there are virtually no other engines outside of webkit, gecko, blink/chromium (still an ancient fork of webkit), or edgehtml. find an open source browser of a choice, and look for its best fork, that's the way to go sadly
nope
Decent channel bro, good video, but man some of your jump cuts make your speech sound so unnatural and abrupt. Smooth some things out and keep working on longer cuts and I bet your channel explodes! Good luck!
About vivaldi.. If it is from Norway they don't have anything to do with EU legislation because Norway isnt an EU country.
That's interesting, I didn't know it was the only Scandinavian country not in the EU. I figured it was seeing as it was already in the Schengen Area.
haha nope.. Just check it. @@KenHarrisio
@@KenHarrisio norway and swizerland not members of the eu
Nor Iceland, Schengen Area but not EU
It should be possible to use open-source AI to auto-complete captchas nowadays... That would be an awesome extension.
Here's an unusual comment: I have no issues at all about your tier listings! 😆🤣You DID make it clearer than other explainers as to WHY I should consider Mullvad. Some explanations sound equivocal and wishy-washy. As of now...I know I WHY I want to try Mullvad. I like the idea of Mullvad's VPN service, so why not try them? Like you, I found Vivaldi acted almost like an OS in itself (or, at least, an alternate-timeline Linux desktop environment 😆🤣). Right now, I'm a Librewolf and Brave user. Aloha.
I really like the browser quite a lot. I started using it a couple months ago and put it through testing and have been daily driving it since then. The extra privacy protections of the Tor browser but having something not connected to Tor is pretty nice. The VPN is really good too, though I don't really care if I have one connected all the time. I use Windows anyway, so I figure half my privacy is gone just using that!
Brave and Librewolf are still also daily drivers for me too, depending on what it is I'm wanting to do. It's nice that there's a good selection for privacy focused browsers now.
@@KenHarrisio Yes, we have an embarrassment of riches!
Thankyou so much sir. You have continuously helped us with your information. I really appreciste it. I use garuda linux and the browser that comes with it ( fire dragon) what is your opinion on this. Is it aS tier😅. It would be very grateful to hear from you sir. Thankyou.
Also sir if a web browser deletes your cookies after you close it. Will i have to type myself the passwords to login everytime or will it remember(which i guess it wont) so is there a way around it.
Hello sir, thank you for the kind words and support. I haven't used Fire Dragon specifically, but it's probably a good browser. I researched it and found it's a fork of Floorp, which is a fork of LibreWolf, so I would say that's a great option. To answer you other question, if the cookies are deleted every time the browser is closed, you'll have to reenter the password. If you go to the settings, there should be a tab called "Privacy & Security" or something similar. Then there should be an option in there that deletes cookies and site data when the browser is closed. If you uncheck that, you shouldn't have to retype passwords anymore.
@@KenHarrisio thankyou Sir.
Arc?
On macOS it's must have
where is duckduckgo?
Fuck chrome and manifest v3. I refuse to be subjected to ads. I'm gonna keep using librewolf where my adblock will still work. If a website uses that shitty browser checking thing to try to force me to use chrome, I'll simply just not visit that site and they wont get any potential attention from me.
One thing about Vivaldi that I don't understand is that they sold Opera to this shady Chinese company and started Vivaldi... and we're supposed to trust that they're not going to do that again? People freaking love Vivaldi, but the fact that they sold out once doesn't sit well with me.
Wouldn't you think that the people that were fine with selling the company wouldnt leave it in the first place to start a new one? Im sure those procedures take a lot more than just the decisions of a few people and as far as I know, Vivaldi was specifically created because they were dissatisfied and left Opera
@@marleonka. The co-founder and CEO of Opera was the one who started Vivaldi after selling out. That doesn't sit well with me at all, and I don't trust him not to do that again.
Imagine having to *PAY* to *be able* to use virtualization lmao
Microsoft won't hesitate to beat up a granny and her cute dog just to squeeze an extra penny from its customers, and the only reason they have those is that Microsoft used to be default. It's not easier to use - whoever had to scrub a hundred different folders and a damn registry because that one program left a ton of fucking garbage behind, knows full well how not easy Windows is, and don't get me started on getting an error that isn't in the docs/references - you're screwed; you'll find a million of threads with similar issues, but they've all been locked before any solution was ever found, and the support agents they employ either know nothing about anything, or it's just Microsoft keeping on writing garbage spaghetti code which should've gotten straight to landfill right after birth. God I hate that company.
my main browser is now Floorp
wtf i didn't know mullvad had it's own browser
It's still somewhat new - I think it released just earlier this year. It's solid as a rock though, which I figured it would be since it was forked from Tor.
Would use Mullvad if it would save logins
Mullvad works better as a browser to do casual surfing where your activity clears out right away. Hardened Firefox is a better choice for sites that need a login.
Just this year alone I got maleware & viruses using Chrome o and this last time Google said they came from a different browser.
The main issue with your top choice picks is that may web masters don't make any effort to achieve Firefox compatibility. I've used Firefox for decades but I sometimes have to use a Chrome browser to get a site to work properly.
I agree 100%. I love FF but there have been times I had issues with getting a site to load. I daily drive Brave to handle any sites like that, which has worked great so far.
Surprising that you find Chrome better than Edge.
It looked weird on the list, but I view it as a niche browser. If someone is on Windows and can use MDAG, it's pretty good for security. I just don't like the privacy issue. I would prefer it over Chrome just for that aspect.
me too. edge is literally s*** but its still better than being raped.
@@KenHarrisio What's MDAG, bro?
@@rediffusion7996 It's short for Microsoft Defender Application Guard. It would be a better feature if it wasn't limited to Edge. It allows a separate window in Edge to run in a sandbox to help reduce the chance of malware making onto the PC. A good substitute can be had from running uBlock Origin and an encrypted DNS provider with good filter lists like Quad9.
please make a video making firefox better
Good idea, I'll add it to the list!
@@KenHarrisio Firefox is slow in my WIn11 for UA-cam and some heavy websites
@@rediffusion7996 I've noticed speed issues with FF and YT as well, but have never had any issues like that with Brave. I saw some posts about a month back when the new YT updates were being rolled out, that YT is said to have been doing this intentionally to people using FF with an ad blocker. As far as websites, that can sometimes be an issue with the owners of the sites not doing a good job with optimization - though once in a while, some just load like crap on FF.
no clue why firefox is above brave and vivaldi is with brave...
cause brave is an obvious honeypot?
Main concern is that they are based on Chromium which as we know, is from Google itself. However, since there is also concern about compatibility with some websites, having a secondary Chromium-based browser is amust these days.
Honestly, I use Vivaldi because I liked their tab management and tab ting, which is great when you are looking at more than two different tabs at the same time. I enabled the mail and rss feed though as I don't want the algorithm control what news should I see.
watching from yandex and never talked about it u.u
I guess I am using a Nope.🤣🤣🤣
Lol nothing wrong with that. I'm fine with people using whatever they want. I don't rate Brave as the best for privacy but it's probably my most used browser.
Norway in EU?? Nope, they're not....
0K
31:56 iOAss 😂
Sadly, due to the wide adoption of Chrome and Chromium based browsers, many websites and web features break with Firefox and it's derivatives. It's almost unusable.
I've been using Firefox for years and I haven't had any problems. Calling it unusable, that's why it's very exaggerated
Sadly
Fuck I hate webp. Great for the backend, shit for the user.
Vivaldi and Safari on same privacy-level with Brave? Are you kidding? Firefox on the same level with LibreWolf and Mullvad? WTF?
28:55 Letterbox protecting from canvas fingerprinting LMAO, wtf dude talking about. Letterbox useless in Firefox, LibreWolf do same without this letterbox thing.
Mullvad is basically Tor without Tor, and Tor itself is not the best "privacy" browser. Mullvad cant bypass CreepJS fingerprinting, site remembers the user even after all the cleanups. This browser is only made to promote their vpn. Only LibreWolf and ArkenFox can bypass modern fingerprinting scripts.
What about Floorp?
"Not Terrible" should be better than "Not Great"
