I wish I knew this a few months ago when I started my channel. A few days ago it was rejected from monetization because of reused content. I used a lot of stock video footage from pexel/storyblocks. Even though I used voice-over, sometimes some clips were looped 2 times before changing, and also I used the same clips for a couple of videos. So, my suggestion is to use only 3 to 5 seconds of the stock footage video and put some titles/images on top of them to make them look unique for UA-cam.

So I have a licence with storyblocks and I create music fitness videos using their footage. It takes me hours and hours if not days to create one fitness music video. I have been up to 4 a.m on multiple occasions and my channel is doing well but if I was not to be monetized then I would stop creating as it is so much work for nothing. I have created over 80 videos over the past year so I am keen to know if I would be ok.
What if you stack a bunch of free different 5 second clips next to each other, so it's not a repeating clip, but instead it just changes. Does that count as monetized, because yeah some people might be using the same clip, but it's at least in a different order?

yes because i am facing the same issue so as i understand music is not enough you have to create your own original content edit the video or use that video no more than 5 sec something like that

@@btm2895 you have to create your own original content it means your own voice on the video and you have to edit the video footage if you using from different sources on internet put filters, effects captions etc
If your doing like top 10 video with stock images and a voice over can you get monetized?
Yes, you CAN GET monetized using those clips.. just don’t use it as is! Edit, add something to it. Combine it with other clips in a transformative manner. That is what Fair use is for as well.

For those wondering the simple answer is no and the reason for that is you wouldn't be using the footage creatively. Simple subject under terms for UA-cam.

Great video. Valuable info. But here is the issue, by following your recommendations does not guarantee not getting a copy right violation. It is a very thin line and it is like not worth it to risk getting a strike. Also I saw in some video that you can turn a regular format landscape video into a "shorts" format to avoid any problems.

Yes as long as your doing a voice over throughout the footage. If the video is basically just the stock footage then NO you can't. If you put the voice over to it and your discussing something like a mentation speech then yes you can
