And when he won all those consecutive rebounding titles was in the 90's against all those Giants!! Bottom line, pound for pound, RodZilla is the GOAT at Rebounding.
Fans need to stop comparing Rodman to Wilt, Baylor and Russell. Those guys played before the NBA put the goaltending rules in place. They could take balls off the rim and block shots from outside that were on their way down towards the basket. There is nothing wrong with what those guys were doing, it was within the rules at the time and you’d be dumb not to if it prevented a score, but it’s like comparing base stealing in baseball today where pitchers are so limited in how they can keep a runner in check, compared to Ricky Henderson’s day - the rules change the stat completely.
Successful rebounding needs high basketball IQ and court awareness. When we were kids there's this one kid who is small and non-athletic, slow AF, but knows where to stand and missed shots always go to him LOL also is always open for a shot he can take his time to aim
