I already have to deal with this disease everyday. I've had glaucoma since I was nine and I've been on eye drops for 17 years. So far at the age of 27 I've been managing glaucoma successfully and seeing my glaucoma specialist every 4 months and getting tests to monitor the progression of glaucoma. This disease is a life sentence for me.
excuse me, I'm glad to hear that you can handle it well, I also suffer from glaucoma since 2 years ago when I was 17, but lately my vision has not been broad, if I may ask, is your visual field still normal? Thank you :)
You are doing the most important thing to control this disease - keeping up with your appointments and using your eye drops!! This is the most crucial in my opinion.
@@jabbarshariff6901 most likely open angle. Closed angle glaucoma is pretty sudden and requieres laser surgery treatment immediately in most cases. Open angle is the most common.
Hello sarah, I just want to thank you for you have helped me to get through my student nurse journey. I graduated as a Cum Laude! I always watched your videos way back then. I always believe that you are a God-given angel to us, aspiring nurses! I thank God because of you. Now that I'm gonna be taking my Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination, I'm still here watching your videos and refreshing my memories. Hoping and praying that I'm gonna be one of the passers and Topnotchers this November 2022, by God's grace. Thank you again Sarah. More power and God bless you and your beautiful family.
2 years ago when I was 17 I had glaucoma, I don't know why I have this disease, even though I don't have a lineage from people who have glaucoma and a list of other causes of glaucoma, after I experienced glaucoma my life has changed, I can't accept why I have this disease even though I'm still young, it's been more than 2 years for me to accept my disease, and after walking for 2 years, I feel lately my eyes don't look as wide as before, next month I will check my visual field, please pray for me, so that my eyes still have a normal field of view :)
I don't start nursing school until one more year. These videos are are preparing me ahead of time so learning all the information won't be so stressful.
I am a registered nurse working at an ophthalmology surgery center and your eye videos are so helpful! It helps to know the pathophysiology/treatments of eye disease as someone like me sees it everyday in practice.
Thanks a million.I will have my right eye cararact surgery March 8 .I got closed Glaucoma too. Then the left eye got cataract too and Gkaucoma. I am.69 yrs. Old...Good, I met the right Opthalmologist here in Davao City.....Take care....🙏❤💯💋.
What an excellent video. I'm almost 68 & had a 5-2021 eye exam, which discovered quite high pressure at 29ish. We tried a couple of drops, & ended up with Lumigan, which seemed to bring the pressure down to about 21. Unfortunately, I had an appointment 11/2021, & the pressure went back up even with Lumigan to, 25/ 24, & the Doctor said it's moved to a glaucoma. Some say exercise can help, & there were a number of things that seemed to trash out the exercise I was getting. At any rate, I feel somewhat positive, that we've apparently caught this thing in early stages. She has now prescribed Dorzolamide HCI and Timolol, (one drop) so I'm taking that in the morning, & evening, & before bed I still take the Lumigan, a total of 3 times. Again I thought the presentation was just wonderful, & I'm going to try to find the drop application full video mentioned. I saw a handheld tonometer that allows you to check your own pressure, & was wondering how advantageous something like that would be. I've maxed my deductible this year, so insurance may kick in for a portion of the cost. Thanks for the great video!
Very clear and simple explanation with specific diagrams! Thank you very much! I am sure they will contribute greatly to their understanding of their eye problems! Keep up your good work and God Bless!
I know it's very late but Thank you for this video! I have glaucoma (I don't think it's closed angle) Haven't been back to the doctor since my surgery (in office laser) I just couldn't go back due to emergency life things. I will go back soon...... I HAVE TO.
I have narrow angles because my eye is short but IOP is presently normal. They recommend laser but not sure what is best approach monitor the closure or laser?
I have closed angle glaucoma I take Prednisone eye drops when I tookto laser surgery and I took the drops I can taste the taste the eye drops from my eyes though the mouth why is that because they put a whole in my eye. With the laser is that is why
Thank you Sara Rn You very gifted and talented pretty Why do not open Rn school May God bless you and your family Keep it up excellent Most of the Rn students are Rn because of you wonderful
I've read lots of books but still find it not clear. that's why I went to your channel and I've understood your explanation. Your videos are well explained. Got 94 % on my first attempt. 1 mistake. I misread the Trabeculoplasty as Trabeculectomy. Need a reading glass. Lesson is to read the question very well. Don't get excited. Thank you so much for helping us.😊
First of all. Congratulations on your channel. My respects to you and your teaching. I’m doing my masters and I have not found any professor or lectures as good as yours. Your lectures are detailed, well explained and extremely easy to understand. I used your videos for my RN and now I came along some of the videos again. Thank you for all the work and helped you have provided.

Hello Nurse Sarah I have a question. How do you approach a patient with open angle glaucoma?
I already have to deal with this disease everyday. I've had glaucoma since I was nine and I've been on eye drops for 17 years. So far at the age of 27 I've been managing glaucoma successfully and seeing my glaucoma specialist every 4 months and getting tests to monitor the progression of glaucoma. Hey did you ever have to get surgery for it??
excuse me, I'm glad to hear that you can handle it well, I also suffer from glaucoma since 2 years ago when I was 17, but lately my vision has not been broad, if I may ask, is your visual field still normal? Thank you :)
