Holy shit, unbelievable punk was this heavy while extreme metal was just barely starting to get its feet wet at this point. This makes half of grindcore bands look like Kidz Bop!

I was listening to the Misfits. A Doyle interview came on. He was with this chick. I found out she sings for "Arch Enemy". I actually liked them. I watched an interview with her. They played "Leader Of the Fucking Assholes". I LOVED THAT. I looked up the lyrics and found out about Shitlickers. That is how I got here. I fucking love this. :D
I saw that video with Alyssa of Arch Enemy hanging out w/Doyle, but since AE are based in Sweden Michael Amott and drummer, Daniel Erlanssen are very influenced by a lot of of the 80ties, Swedish HC bands like Anti Cimex, Drilller Killer, Totalitar etc., etc.
This comment showing how easy it is to go from The Misfits to The Shitlickers via a youtube rabbithole means that posers who only listen to entry level punk rawk have no excuse for not listening to the deep cuts anymore.

Skitslickers var den första versionen av Shitlickers och bestod av Gutte, Jimmy, Skit Lasse och jag. Vi spelade som förband till Exploited 1981 i Göteborg.
I was a member of the Skitslickers (1981) the first verson of the Shitlickers. Me (vokals) and Skit-Lasse (bass) was from Gotheborg. Jimmy (gitarr) was from Mariestad. Gutte (drums) was from Skåne. We started the band in Gotheborg juli 1981. In november we played with Exploited in a place called Facade in Gotheborg.

@@avelinosilvadias The early 80's of Discharge will always be the best era for me. The heavy distorted guitars, the brutal vocals, the explosive drumming... All of it was perfect for the time and era. Not just for punk but for the political climate as well.

Them dudes probably never even thought about how special is the sound they achieved here, with very little skill and experience, likely even time spent. And to get that kind of tone you actually have to do a lot kinda counterintuitive things, some I'd even call sophisticated (e.g. the guitar track has to be in the red, at clipping level, for natural overdrive, but not too much or it gets very hard on the hearing).

I discovered this band ironically via a trip from Aus' to my mother country Sweden and discovering an 'alternative' vinyl store in Stockholm who happened to have some rare crusty trusty ol' Aussie punker gems at hand and discovered this Swedish entry into the HC Punk scene and was blown away immediately.

Very similar to "Ratos de Porão", a legendary brazilian band that began in the late 70s, early 80s
Ratos were heavily influnced by discharge as were this band.
In fact id go as far to say all extreme music were influnced by discharge😎 nuff said
this has nothing in common with r.d.p.
B side of The shitlickera is much more Heavy and agressive than Ratos de Porao.
